《COME TO ME | PJM》Chapter 96

Y/N felt that she wasn't in a great mood; unsure whether it was due to the pregnancy or something else. She didn't have much of an appetite but she forced herself to take a few bites before heading down to spend some time with Joon Min. Since Y/N wasn't in the greatest condition, the two opted to watch Joon Min's favourite shows and play for a bit before having dinner and putting Joon Min to bed early.

Although his condition had been rather stable the past few months, Y/N and Jimin found it necessary to have plenty of support around him to make sure he didn't get into anymore life threatening situations like he had in the past. Joon Min needed to be kept safe until Y/N could safely deliver another child and harvest the hematopoietic stem cells to create the treatment necessary to give Joon Min a better chance for a longer life.

Y/N sighed and kissed Joon Min's small forehead before turning off the light in his room. She rubbed her tummy lightly; her lower abdomen already showing signs of bulging. In the future, Y/N hoped that she would be able to take Joon Min and her new child out as much as they wanted, and let them live the long healthy lives that they deserved.

It was already 7pm, so Y/N decided to head back up to her room to take a shower and get ready for bed.

Y/N climbed into bed and lay there for a moment. She briefly considered waiting up for Jimin to talk to him about what happened on the mountain, but her body ached in protest. She didn't know when Jimin would be home in the first place; it didn't seem like he would be home anytime soon. Closing her eyes, she quickly slipped into sleep.

-------

Y/N's eyes fluttered open at the sound of a door closing. She glanced over towards the clock on the desk; it was around 10pm now. Jimin quietly took off his coat and threw it onto the sofa. He sat down and started to loosen his tie and unbutton his shirt slightly before leaning back onto the sofa with a deep sigh.

As it was dark in the room, Y/N couldn't exactly see his face clearly but he indeed looked incredibly tired. She shuffled slightly to get a better look, and Jimin quickly snapped his attention towards the bed.

Y/N felt particularly awkward, sitting up and clearing her throat slightly. "You're back." she spoke quietly.

"Oh, and thank you for taking me home."

Jimin paused for a moment, figuring that Y/N must have already talked to Krystal today. He shook his head weakly. "No need to thank me... I'm sure that Jungkook would have taken you home safely even if I didn't find you." Inside Jimin probably knew that he was acting a little childish right now, but he was a bit too worn out to care.

Y/N frowned disapprovingly at the mention of Jungkook's name. Why did he always have to bring him into this? She was just trying to thank him for taking her home... She felt that she would never be able to understand this man's thoughts. She reached over for her bedside table and switched on the lamp, dimly illuminating the room.

Jimin's face was now visible under the light, and Y/N's eyes widened in shock when she turned back around to look at him. This was probably why Krystal asked whether Jimin was alright.

Needless to say, Jimin didn't look great at all. Light reddish, purple bruises decorated his previously flawless cheeks, and the corner of his lips were cut and slightly swollen.

Jimin noticed Y/N staring at his face and considered turning away for a moment but ultimately decided not to. There was nothing to hide in the first place. He walked towards the bed and took his watch off, placing it on the bedside table.

Y/N looked at his hands and noticed that his knuckles were also bruised up; a couple band aids were placed clumsily on the cuts.

"Did you get into a fight? With who? Jungkook?" Y/N frowned. Jimin looked directly at her, but didn't answer.

Y/N took Jimin's silence as a confirmation to her suspicions. There was no other reason for Krystal to be asking about Jimin's condition unless something happened while she was sleeping. She always knew that there was some rather undesirable tension between the two men, but she never expected them to actually get into a physical fight.

Y/N started to feel her anger boil up slightly; she figured since there was no way Jungkook would start a fight with Jimin for no reason, Y/N assumed that Jimin must have hit Jungkook first. "Did you hit him because I was with him?" Y/N reprimanded him.

Jimin opened his mouth to explain, but before he could say anything, Y/N cut him off. "His grandmother passed away, she had always been good to me. My heart was broken hearing the news, so it must have been way harder for him. I tried to find him with Krystal to comfort him, Jimin. How could you do something like that?" Y/N accused. She exhaled irritatedly; she didn't even know why she was bothering to explain the situation to Jimin right now. After all he shouldn't have been meddling with her business anyway.

Jimin felt his heart tighten uncomfortably. "Why? You're scared of me hurting him?" He narrowed his eyes. "Of course you are... In your heart he really is the most important to you right? You go running out to him without regard for your health or the baby's health; do you know how dangerous of a gamble you played? Do you know how worried we were when we couldn't contact you last night?"

Jimin didn't want to sound angry, but all the inner feelings of hopelessness and anger that he had been carrying since last night poured out the moment Y/N started pinning the fight on him. He knew that he started it, but it wasn't for a reason as petty as Y/N being with Jungkook. After all, he had put himself at risk to find her and his efforts were only met with accusation and disappointment.

Y/N massaged her temple. "I don't want to fight with you anymore Jimin. I didn't think it through properly and that was my mistake. I'm grateful you took me home but I don't need you to insert yourself into places you're not supposed to be." Y/N exhaled exasperatedly. "Also, can you stop bringing Jungkook into the fight? I don't know how many times I need to tell you that we don't have that kind of relationship!"

Jimin couldn't help but be hurt by her words. "Then tell me why he kissed you last night."

Y/N was startled. Jungkook kissed her? Was that why they fought? Y/N averted her eyes away from Jimin; she was at a loss for words.

The atmosphere between the two was quickly overtaken by a heavy silence.

"Jimin... Let's just stop, okay? Let's go back to ignoring one another and continuing in our own ways. I was wrong for coming to my conclusions too quickly, but it is pointless for us to do this over and over again, fighting over nothing... It's not going to work."

Jimin looked back into Y/N's eyes sadly, searching for even the smallest amount of hesitation. There was none. He could feel his chest continue to tighten, it was almost hard to breathe. "Y/N... How blind can you be..." He let out a pained laugh.

"Why can't you notice my feelings for you; why I don't want to let you go and why I don't like you being close to Jeon Jungkook..." Jimin spoke in a low voice.

"Are you certain of your feelings?" Y/N asked back, unfazed by his sudden confession. "...or is it just a desire to possess?"

He went silent, once again. Her question made him doubt himself. What did he know about feelings anyway? Jimin never really understood love in the first place; he wasn't really sure if he had experienced it before.

As he remained silent, Y/N sighed and turned away. "So it turns out you aren't certain either?"

"Good night, Jimin." She turned to switch off the light and lay back down on the bed, her back towards him. Jimin was left dumbfounded, standing there and unable to say anything to redeem himself. Eventually he grabbed a spare blanket and left the room to sleep in his study.

--------

Y/N woke up pretty early since she had to attend the funeral for Jungkook's grandmother today, and she wanted to head over a bit earlier to help the family out and pay her respects. She still didn't feel well but forced herself to get up and get ready. She opted for a plain and modest black blouse and paired it with a long black skirt that reached mid calf.

Jimin didn't come back after leaving the room last night; Y/N assumed that he probably just went to Seulgi's place. She hated this uneasy feeling that rose up in her chest thinking about Seulgi, but she quickly shook it away. "It's not my problem." Y/N mumbled to herself.

She went to check on Joon Min before heading out to get into her car. While driving to the Jeon residence she couldn't help but let her mind wander towards Jimin, and what he was probably doing at Seulgi's right now.

Y/N noticed that she felt a little... Jealous? She rolled her eyes.

"Jealous? Me?" She laughed.

Y/N arrived at the Jeon residence and paid her respects to the family. She looked around the house until she found Jungkook, who was standing absentmindedly next to grandma's coffin. The two made eye contact and she gave Jungkook a weak smile, walking over to greet him. A slightly panicked look crossed over his face, but he quickly replaced it with his usual smile.

Y/N sighed. His face definitely wasn't that much better than Jimin's. She thought about what Jimin said earlier but decided to keep her mouth shut for now. It wasn't exactly the time or place for any sort of discussion. It seemed like Jungkook was adamant on pretending nothing was wrong either. She gave Jungkook's arm a reassuring squeeze.

"Feeling alright?" She asked.

"Yeah." He smiled sadly. "Do you feel better?"

Y/N nodded, and the two turned their attention to Krystal who had just arrived. Krystal hugged them both tightly and they made their way to Jungkook's family members so she could greet them.

Not long after, other relatives and close friends started showing up, and the funeral processions started. Jungkook presented a eulogy for his grandma; talking about his childhood and what a wonderful and compassionate woman she was.

The funeral lasted about an hour, and guests took turns paying their respects at grandma's coffin. By early afternoon, most of the guests had left and Y/N and Krystal stayed behind to help Jungkook's family clean things up and prepare for the transportation of grandma's coffin to her final resting place.

Jungkook had bought a nice plot of land near grandma's place. He chose an open area that was surrounded by a good amount of trees and flora, as he knew grandma enjoyed looking upon the scenery that surrounded her house.

"I have a hospital checkup for my baby later, so i'll excuse myself first." Y/N said her goodbyes to Jungkook's family.

"Do you think you'll be alright?" She looked at Jungkook worriedly. Although he was trying his best to be strong right now, she could tell that he was keeping many emotions bottled inside right now.

Jungkook patted her shoulder reassuringly. "Don't worry, you should start heading back. Krystal will stay and help us out with the rest."

"Go first Y/N, i'll text you later." Krystal smiled.

Y/N nodded and drove back home to change.
