《BadBoy Tutor》Chapter Twenty-Eight

I spent the entire car journey fiddling with my thumbs. After finally admitting how I felt to Jodie, it made me feel much more nervous around Reece.
Especially when he looked like that...
Ugh, this was so frustrating. For weeks I was scared that I would eventually catch feelings for him. It was like I could feel them forming but couldn't do a single thing to stop it. It does feel good to have finally admitted them to not just Jodie, but also to myself. Every time I found myself thinking about it, I would simply force myself to think about something else, not allowing myself to go there.
I guess it was bound to happen. Spending that much time with someone who could make me laugh in a matter of seconds or continuously managed to make me shocked or speechless. The long nights we would spent just texting each other for hours or chatting on the phone. And then there was the nights where he was always there for me. Like at Jake's party a few months back, we hadn't even been friends for that long but he dropped the girl he was with to look after my drunk ass.
And then there was Belle's party where I saw the sweetest side of him. The side that showed he cared and that he was there for me. The side who comforted me and made me forget it even happened in a matter of seconds.
The only person who could do that was the boy sitting right next to me in the car right now. I snuck a little glance at him and then looked back out the window. He was sat there with a concentrated face as he listened to the satnav tell us where to go.
But it was just a little crush, it's not like I would ever do something about it. We had too much of an amazing friendship to ever jeopardise that.
Plus, he would never feel the same.
I know I sound like one of those cliché girls but it's true. To Reece, I was just a good friend and nothing more. And I was fine with that, I honestly was or at least I thought I was. Reece was an 18-year-old who has many girls, much prettier and funnier than me who he never considered dating.
I had seen it first-hand.
When I was with him, many girls would give him their numbers and try to hit on him. Most of the time, he would simply turn them down which confused me sometimes as Reece used to be known as the biggest player in the school but he was nowhere near as bad as they made him out to be.
Or there's the possibility that he simply just changed or that he just met with girls when his friends weren't around. To be perfectly honest, I had no clue and I wanted to keep it that way. The quicker I can forget about this whole thing; the quicker I can go back to not liking him anymore.

Fuck, now it's gone from a small crush to admitting I like him.
But deep down I knew there was no not liking him anymore. It was too far gone.
"Sammy were here."
I opened my eyes, even though I hadn't been sleeping. I flashed him a smile before opening the door and exiting the car. Reece's famous black porshe was surrounded by many other cars, some just as fancy and some much more ordinary.
I looked up in awe as I saw the beautiful venue. It was an old fashioned building, surrounded by greenery. Gorgeous flowers surrounded the building and it was like something out of a movie.
"Sam!" I heard as I snapped my head around to see where the voice was coming from. I grinned widely when I saw my dad walking towards us.
"Hey dad." I walked up to him and wrapped my arms around him as we hugged. It hadn't been that long since I saw him but I still always missed him like crazy. I guess when you only have one parent you find yourself more attached to them.
He leaned back from the hug and gave me his signature smile. "Oh wow." He breathed. "You look beautiful."
I chuckled. "Thanks dad, you look great." I commented as I scanned his attire. He was wearing a black suit but it wasn't anything new seeing him in a suit as he was a lawyer. Dad then glanced at Reece who was already looking at us.
"Hey Kid." He smiled and gave Reece a quick hug. I bit back a smile as I watched them have a quick embrace.
What didn't help with my feelings was how much my dad adored Reece. Who doesn't want their dad to love the person that they're with? Shaking my head from the thoughts I was having, I linked arms with Reece as we followed my dad into the building.
Dad snapped his head around. "I have to go but I'll see you guys later."
I nodded and watched him retreat away. As Sarah and my dad's father had passed away a few years ago, Sarah had asked my dad to walk her down the aisle which I found fucking adorable. My dad was ecstatic when she asked.
Reece leaned into my ear. "Oh no, looks who's coming." I looked to see what he was talking about and internally groaned when I saw Kelsey stalking her way over with a boy attached to her arm.
"This way!" I commanded and grabbed Reece's arm and pulled him into the building away from Kelsey. I couldn't be fucked to deal with her shit right now. He laughed and I grinned widely when I caught eyes with Belle. I let go of Reece's arm and gave her a quick hug.
"You look amazing!" I commented as she smiled widely. She was wearing a gorgeous dark red dress. Elliot was next to her and then began talking to Reece as we wandered off to talk. I had found out recently that Elliot asked Belle to be his girlfriend on her birthday, pretty much right before I walked in on them.

"You too." She replied as we giggled.
"So..." She gave me a questioning look. "Is he your date?"
I shook my head. "I signed for a plus one when I was with Adam so thought I'd ask him to come along as a friend." I emphasised the friend part but she didn't look convinced.
"I just saw the way you two were looking at each other." She said dryly. "Friend my ass."
I rolled my eyes as we had a quick catch up and then returned to the boys. They were laughing about something. "What are you two giggling about?" Belle teased as she said hello to Reece and I said hi to Elliot.
He glanced at Reece and then sent me a wink which I flipped him off for which made him laugh. Elliot looked very handsome, wearing a black suit similar to Reece's.
"Hey guys." Kelsey appeared out of nowhere with a fake smile plastered on her face. Me and belle gave each other a look of annoyance before turning to her. We both smiled but she wasn't looking at us, she was glancing between Reece and Elliot with a shocked face.
"This is your boyfriend?" She questioned Belle.
Belle nodded as Elliot stood behind her and wrapped his arms around her shoulders and gave her a kiss on the forehead. Kelsey bit her lip angrily before turning to me with a fake grin and then up at Reece. "Oh my god, I remember you!" She flirted as she flipped her hair behind her back. The boy next to her looked slightly confused.
"Yeah." Reece grumbled slightly awkwardly as he ran a hand through his hair.
Not even noticing his lack of conversation, Kelsey flashed him an award winning smile and then looked at me and raised an eyebrow. "Is he your boyfriend?"
Before I got the chance to shake my head Reece nodded and grabbed my hand, squeezing it. "Yep." He grinned down at me and I looked up at him in utter confusion. Kelsey's face changed from her fake smile to a glare at me. "Fuck off you're dating her."
"Hey!" Belle butted in with a pissed off expression. "Sam's so much fucking better than you."
I looked at her gracefully before I was cut off. "Yeah." She chuckled coldly as she scanned me up and down with complete disgrace. "So much better." She said dryly and then laughed.
"Come on babe." She said to the boy next to her and dragged him away.
"Don't listen to that bitch." Reece glared after her and I nodded.
"Hey why did you say we were dating?" I questioned as Belle and Elliot shared a glance and then grinned. Ignoring them, I waited for his reply as Reece looked at me blankly.
"You think I want that serpent trying to get with me all night?" He shook his head. "No fucking thank you."
Elliot burst out laughing at that which made Belle and me laugh along with him. "You think that's gonna stop her?" I shook my head. "if anything that'll make her want you more."
Reece shuddered as we were cut off with other family members coming up to us. After about 30 minutes of exchanging hellos with everyone and explaining to each of them that me and Reece were in fact not dating and were here as friends, we were now sat down waiting for Sarah to come out.
The 4 of us sat in a row to our self with me on the edge and Belle next to me and the 2 on the other side of her. She whispered in my ear. "We both have hot date's; this was our 9 year olds wet dream."
I muffled a laugh at her comment. "At least yours is your date." I whispered back.
She chuckled. "Oh come on Sam. He so likes you. Why else would he give up his Saturday to go with a friend to her aunts wedding."
I glanced at the two boys to see they were in mid conversation and couldn't hear us. I turned back to Belle. "Maybe because were good friends. Plus, Elliot is here so it makes sense."
She huffed. "Nothing about your relationship makes sense."
I furrowed my eyebrows. "What do you mean?"
She gave me a blank look. "Oh come on. You both used to hate each other because of Adam and now you get on so well together. You literally went from hating each other's guts to friends in a matter of days and I always see you both with a smile on your face when your together. I see the way you both look at each other and trust me that is not what good friends look like. Plus, you would make really fucking hot babies."
I sighed. "Look can we talk about this later?"
She nodded and I began to think about what she said. It's true we went from hating each other to friends quick but the only reason we disliked each other was because of Adam. When I was with Adam, Reece and Adam would glare at each other or say nasty things to each other so of course I took my boyfriend's side which then made Reece hate me too. Although he was never nasty to me specifically, he made it his job to tell me what a prick my boyfriend was constantly so that made me retaliate and then started the dislike for each other.
Throw in a nasty breakup, a forced tutoring and a good friendship formed.
What was wrong with that? We never would have hated one another if it wasn't for Adam we just wouldn't have known each other. Obviously we knew of each other but never would have had a reason to speak until the tutoring scenario.
And looking back, I've never been more glad I failed that test.

Wild Steam
Get on a train. Head east. Get on a ship. Travel further east, in style. See some wonders of the world. Find what was lost. Find where home is. How hard is any of that?Well, for Jake Ranger, pretty damned hard. The world being a wild, crazy mess from a global altering event called the Shattering doesn’t help much. Nor does being a famous folk hero. That last one really sucks, because people always run up to famous heroes and beg them for help with all their problems. Then there are the actual outlaws and monsters. They don’t help much either. Mostly they just get in the way and make everything way worse. And in a world that is so screwed up decades after the Shattering, there is a lot of variety to both outlaw and monster. Then there are the more civilized, (read: sane), non-human folk, and good old humans as well. They all get along just spectacularly. Totally best friends, on every level, for life. Of course getting to the east coast is only half the battle. Once there, he must contend with the so-called “civilized people.” Then there’s the ship ride; pirates and sea monsters are a thing too, after all. Should have read the brochure. But when the chips are down, the bad guys are winning and the wild winds of chaos are blowing, it helps to have a fighter on your side. Even if he is a little wild. After all, that’s not really a problem. That’s what beautiful women and lots of gold is for. Proper motivation is always key to success. Welcome to a Steampunk, Wild West, Victorian era, Lovecraftian infested, fantasy, shoot ‘em up world. Complete with a slow build harem of badass beautiful women, crazy adventures, and fun, monstrous villains. Welcome to the world of Wild Steam. Do enjoy your stay.

A boy is born in a fantasy world with knowledge of modern earth, however he does not have personal memories of living or dying before. Good news is he was born in militaristic branch of the royal family and the variety of forms and uses of magic in this world are great fun, bad news is with status come expectations. Follow him as he makes his place in the world all the while escaping boredom with all his might. I plan on using a few cliches while putting my own spin on things, if i write something that feels too much like every other fictions, please say so.
