《BadBoy Tutor》Chapter Eleven

"I don't want to go." I complained to Cole as I lazily picked out an outfit from my closet. Today was the double date and I was feeling pretty tired from my lack of sleep last night. Reece pretty much fell asleep straight away as I could hear him softly snoring behind me but for some reason I could not sleep.
Cole chuckled. "Is that because you'd rather be going with someone else?" I glared down at my phone which was currently on speaker to him.
"I don't know what you're talking about."
He scoffed and I could hear his mum saying something on the other end. After a couple seconds, Cole returned. "Mum says good luck."
I smiled widely at the mention of his mum. It was weird, ever since we became friends both Jodie and Cole's mum were like aunts to me. Our mums all got along so well and they acted like sisters. "Thanks Maria." I smiled softly as Cole returned with winding me up.
"So you're telling me you wouldn't rather it be Reece across from that table?" Cole exclaimed and I could picture his stupid smirk as he said it.
I rolled my eyes. "Maybe."
Cole gasped. "Oh my god, I knew it!" He yelled way too loudly. This boy was way too over dramatic.
I smiled to myself. "Only because I don't want to spend 2 hours with a random boy I don't know who will probably run away from the amount of food I eat."
Cole grunted. "Damn it."
As I grabbed a nice dark green body suit and a pair of black high waisted jeans, he sighed. "Why does Jodie want you to go anyway?"
I shrugged and then realised he couldn't see me as I quickly changed out of my very comfortable oversized hoody that I did not want to leave into the new outfit. "I don't know. I think Harry has wanted to go on a double date for ages and she didn't want to go with a stranger."
"What if you actually like him?"
I scoffed, taking a seat at my makeup stall and began to do my makeup. "Trust me, I don't care who he is. It isn't going to happen."
"You can't let Adam have control over your life anymore Sam, you're allowed to move on."
I glanced at myself in the mirror and for once, I didn't see the sad girl behind it anymore. "I have moved on." I knew that I had. I didn't love Adam anymore and for some odd reason It didn't hurt what he did anymore. It had been around two months now and I knew I was over him.
"Then why can't y-"
"Just because ive moved on doesn't mean that I want a relationship Cole. I'm only 18, ive already had one shitty relationship, I don't want another."
"Not everyone's the same Sam."
I raised my eyebrows. "When did you become so invested in my love life?"
He barked a laugh. "Trust me. I don't want you to become the girlfriend of that douche's best friend but I also want you to be happy."
My heart tanged at him.
I grinned. "I love you."
He scoffed. "Sorry Sam, I like someone else."
I rolled my eyes. "Shut up Cole."
He chuckled. "Love you too Sam." I smiled as I tried not to stab myself in the eye with my eyeliner. "Anyway, I Gotta go. Katy's here." He shuddered and I laughed. Katy was Cole's older sister and she was quite the diva. I loved her like a sister but she was definitely a piece of work. After saying goodbye, I finished my makeup and curled my hair and tied it into a half up half down, letting a few strands loose at the front to frame my face.

"Let's get this over with." I muttered as I grabbed my black jacket that I wore like every day and a pair of black ankle boots.
"Sam this is Joe." Harry introduced me as he pointed to his friend. Joe smiled warmly as me and I smiled back. He was a good looking boy, with sandy blonde hair that flopped over his forehead and brown eyes.
"Nice to meet you gorgeous." He grinned as he pulled me into a hug which I awkwardly hugged him back. He smelt good but his smell wasn't intoxicating like Reece's. Reece smelt more like-
Oh my god Sam, shut the fuck up for once. I was on a date yet thinking of him. What on earth was wrong with me?
He leaned back from the hug and it didn't go unnoticed how he raked his eyes up and down my body like a fucking lion. I instantly felt uncomfortable so I quickly slid in the booth next to Jodie who grinned at me. The two boys took seats in front of us and I looked down at the way he was staring at me.
I couldn't wait for this to be over and go home. In all honesty, I just wanted to climb into bed with the pack of sour patch kids I have waiting for me at home and watch Netflix.
Harry smiled softly at me. "How you doing Sam?"
Harry was also good looking, with short black hair and brown eyes. Again, Reece was better but I couldn't help myself.
What? He is an extremely gorgeous boy. I wasn't blind to his looks!
"I'm good. How's soccer?" I asked.
"Its great! A few college scouts have been to my games and coach seems to think I have a great chance."
"That's fantastic" I replied and soon Jodie and Harry began talking and I just sat there, having absolutely nothing to say to the very lustful boy in front of me. The way he was looking at me made me want to leave and go climb out of the bathroom window and never look back but I couldn't do that to Jodie.
"So do you normally go on dates?" Joe asked from in front of me, finally taking his eyes away from my chest and onto my face. I wasn't even showing cleavage yet he still stared at me.
"No." I replied honestly.
His eyes widened and a smirk appeared on his face. "Really? A girl as sexy as you are single?"
My lips thinned into a straight line. "I like It that way."
He leaned closer to me with a huge smirk still on his face. "Do you want to come back to my place after?" He lustfully raked my body once again. "I might be able to change your mind."
I backed away from him. "I need the toilet." I blurted out and jumped out of the booth and quickly scurried to the bathroom. I couldn't spend another minute in front of that absolute weirdo. As soon as I got into the stall, I grabbed my phone from my pocket and quickly texted Cole.
A couple moments my phone dinged twice but it wasn't who I was expecting.
Oh no, oh fuck! I accidently sent what was meant for Cole to Reece. I quickly snapped out of it and began typing a reply.
Ugh! Why do I always get myself into such awkward situations?
Rolling my eyes, I sighed and sat down on the toilet seat and my phone started ringing. I answered it and chuckled as a deep voice spoke on the other end.

"Where are you?"
I fiddled with the hem of my jacket as I held my phone in the other hand against my ear. "You're cute when you're caring."
He scoffed. "I am not cute!"
I grinned. "Yes you are! You're like a cuddly little teddy bear, I'm sure Ellie loves this side of you."
"Shut up. I am not cute. You can call me handsome, good looking, fit, even sexy. But not cute!" He growled the last part and I barked a laugh.
"Who is the creep?" He asked, completely changing the subject.
I sighed. "It's nothing. I'm on a double date with Jodie, that's all."
I heard him suck in a breath and I furrowed my eyebrows. "You're on a date?" He asked, his voice sounding odd.
"Yeah..." I said wryly.
He then laughed. "You're on a date, yet you're talking to me. Let me guess, in the bathroom?"
I glared at the floor. "Shut up. You called me!"
"Only because your date is apparently a creep." He replied dryly.
I stared at the door to the bathroom stall, not really knowing what to say. The room was filled with awkward silence as neither of us spoke and the only reason I knew he was still there was from the sound of breathing on the other end. "Well I should probably go." I spoke first.
Reece chuckled lowly. "Me too. I'm getting spammed with text messages from Alyssa so I need to stop and get condoms."
My nose wrinkled up in disgust as the phone call ended and I sighed, trudging out of the bathroom and back towards the booth.
This was going to be one long night.
"I'm so sorry Sam." Jodie exclaimed the second we entered my car. She had a guilt full expression on her face as the done up her seatbelt. I sighed, starting my car as I drove away from the restaurant.
"It's fine, honestly."
Throughout the night, Joe had turned even more creepy and disgusting. He constantly made comments about my fatigue and trying to get me to go home with him. Harry didn't seem to say anything as he just chuckled at most of the things he said but Jodie began to get pissed off. She even booted harry in the shin when he laughed at Joe trying to touch my thigh under the table. Harry then eventually told him off.
She groaned. "No its not, I forced you to come." She turned to me with an apologetic yet soft expression on her face. "How can I make it up to you?"
I gave her a deadpan expression before turning back to the road. "You know exactly what."
She rolled her eyes. "Fine but only because I owe you."
I grinned and turned the car around so we were driving to the pier. Once parked, we both exited the car and she linked arms with me, grinning like a maniac. Jodie liked to act like this wasn't her favourite thing in the world, but I knew different. The sun was set so the multi-coloured lights that hung over the pier shone a beautiful trance over the dark blue sea. It was cold as fuck but I didn't care, this was my favourite place to be. If I ever felt stressed, you would find me walking along the beach. Once we had arrived at the small dessert shop, we sat down in our usual booth.
"Jodie, Sam! Haven't seen you two in a while!" Tim, the shop owner beamed at us as he walked over. He was a fairly old man, roughly in his seventies but he loved this place so much I couldn't see him ever leaving.
"Hey Tim." Me and Jodie both said at the same time and laughed when we made eye contact.
"How you been?" Tim asked, specifically looking at me. Yep, I spent a lot of fucking time here after Adam and I broke up.
I grinned in response. "I'm good!"
After ordering, Tim walked off and I smiled warmly at Jodie. Tim was right, we hadn't been here in a while and I feel like I don't often spend as much time with my best friend as I should. Jodie threw her head in her hands. "I might break up with Harry."
What!
My head shot up and my eyes widened. "Why? I thought things were better?"
She frowned. "They were but I don't know if I can be with someone that would let their best friend act like that."
Oh no, this is all my fault.
Before I could reply, she opened her mouth to speak. "There are other things too." She paused, grimacing. "Is it bad that sometimes I don't even want to see him?"
I fiddled with the hem of my jacket, not really knowing what to say. "I think that's normal in a relationship, spending too much time together can be bad."
She shook her head. "No, that's the thing. We hardly see each other, we go on a couple dates a week and that's it. To be honest, most of the times they aren't even dates, we just hang out at mine or at his. We used to speak on the phone for hours every night but now it's just stopped." Her words then got super quiet. "Most of the time I find myself enjoying spending time with Cole so much more."
Imma say this again, What!
She looked at me to say something but no words came out. My mouth opened and closed like a fish as I pondered the right thing to say. What the fuck do I say back to that?
"D-do you like Cole?" I asked slowly.
Her eyes widened. "No!" She exclaimed rather loudly but then her face then softened and she gave me a half smile. "Maybe."
OH MY FUCKING GOD!
She then chuckled bitterly. "But it's not like he'll ever like me back. He sleeps around so much; he obviously doesn't like anyone like that."
Oh hunny, you are so freaking wrong.
She searched my face for answers but I was so shocked. I couldn't tell her that he was in love with her, it wasn't my place to say.
"Maybe you should break up with him." I murmured.
Jodie raised a perfectly filled in dark brown eyebrow at me. "Why do you say that?"
I shrugged. "If you're in a relationship and you like someone else. Is it fair on them?"
Damn, when did I become so wise?
She groaned, smacking her head down on the table before looking back up at me. "But that's the thing! I think I like him but I'm so scared Sam. What if I do something and it just fucks up our friendship. He doesn't like me back and I need to get over whatever silly little crush I have on him."
I smirked. "Me and you both know it's more than a crush."
"Shut up!" She snapped, pink spots appearing on her tanned cheeks.
I couldn't help the grin that was stretched onto my face, I couldn't get rid of it if I tried. I could only imagine the look on Cole's face when she told him.
"You need to tell him."

8 109The Desecrator's Tomb - A Numbers Lit-aRPG
A man appears in a dungeon full of undead. He tries to leave. This is my attempt at writing a litrpg where the system is more formalized. This means that there will be a fair amount of min-maxing and we will hopefully be able to calculate the dps of every ability by the time I am done. Expect math. The main character will become a Drain Tank. This story uses an aRPG item and stat system. Oh and one last thing. Beware the penguins. update 1/8/22: I am trying to simulate things as faithfully as is reasonable. As of chapter 17 there are animated gifs depicting Chilly's life throughout encounters. update 1/11/22: Kreksyte drew me a cover! All hail our artist overlords! update 5/25/22: Going on hiatus for a bit. The second arc is complete. Will come back for the 3rd and final arc soon. update 7/15/22: ayy...I've returned. Starting the third and final arc. [was once a participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
