It was really a fun day for Taehyun because he annoyed Chaeryeong and it made him feel good. He bid goodbyes with Dahye and saw his driver already there and he sat in the car.
Soon, he reached his house or a mansion. As he opened the door he saw his dad standing there smiling while Taehyun glanced at him and started to look for his mom.
"Mom! Where are you?"
He said but his dad was being too nice to him which actually surprised him, his dad would barely come home and doesn't even talk to him and Taehyun wasn't getting what had gotten into him.
"Oh Taehyun! You're back."
He saw his mom coming downstairs at living room.
"Mom, why is he here now!?"
He asked his mom signalling towards his dad.
"Taehyun, that's not how you talk to your father."
His mom glared at him.
"Taehyun, dad has something to tell you."
His dad said as he smiled at Taehyun which annoyed him.
"Stop with this act! Why are you acting like this now?! Where were you when I wanted to talk to you?!"
Taehyun yelled at his dad.
"Watch your tone young man!"
His dad said and taehyun just sighed.
"What do you want? I mean, you wouldn't act like this if you didn't want something from me."
Taehyun asked him right away.
"Well, after you graduate, you shall be wed with the heiress of the Lee Enterprises, Kang Taehyun."
His father said and Taehyun looked at him in disbelief.
"What are you even saying?!”
Taehyun shouted.
"If you don't marry her, I'll make sure you'll not take over my company!"
His father yelled.
"Then keep your company to yourself! Ain't no way I'm marrying a stranger!"

His voice echoed in the whole house.
"Honey, please listen to-"
His mom's words were interrupted.
"No need to beg in front of him, he has to marry."
His father said.
"You're no one to take decisions for me!"
He said and he went to his room and slammed his door shut.
His mother looked at him going with concern.
"Don't you think that it's too early for his marriage?"
Mrs Kang spoke to her husband.
"I know, but I really had no choice."
Mr Kang said and both of them started thinking something.
Meanwhile, Taehyun went to his room and threw a vase and the vase shattered into pieces.
He then decided to call Dahye.
Dahye picked up his phone right away.
"Hello?"
She spoke from the other side.
"Dahye, my dad wants me to marry someone else."
"What?! Why?"
"Because that girl is the richest in our city. I think she's the heiress of The Lee Enterprises."
Taehyun spoke while Dahye stayed silent for a whole minute.
"Dahye?"
"Y-Yes! Yes!"
She said.
"I know you are really worried, just like I am. I don't want to marry a stranger."
Taehyun said.
"But what about your family? Will they accept me?
Dahye asked Taehyun.
"They won't, they even said that if I don't marry the girl, I will no longer remain the heir of our company."
Dahye again went silent.
"But don't you worry, I'll still marry you even if I don't remain the heir of our company!"
Taehyun reassured her.
"No!"
She said while Taehyun raised his eyebrows.
"No?"
Taehyun said.
"I-I mean, you shouldn't disobey them, they're your parents after all Taehyun!"
Dahye said and Taehyun just nodded.
"They are, but I love you Dahye! I really love you!"

Taehyun said.
"I know Taehyun, but I want you to marry the girl they chose for you."
Dahye spoke and Taehyun's eyes widened.
"What do you mean by that?!"
Taehyun was still shocked.
"Marrying her won't decrease the love you have for me right?"
Dahye said.
"But that's wrong Dahye!"
Taehyun protested.
"How's that wrong? I just love you and nothing's wrong with that!"
Dahye said.
"If you really love me then why are you telling me to marry a stranger just like my dad?!"
Taehyun asked and now Dahye went silent.
Meanwhile, Chaeryeong went to her home and was greeted by a maid.
"Welcome home Lady Chaeryeong!"
She said and bowed at her.
"Please don't call me lady, it feels really odd."
Chaeryeong said and she entered her mansion.
"I'm back!"
Chaeryeong said and was about to go to her room but then she saw her parents looking at her.
"Why are you both looking at me like that?"
Chaeryeong looked at her parents suspiciously.
"Chaer, as you know that you're the heiress of our company."
Her dad said and Chaeryeong was now paying attention to what he was.
"You have to marry the heir of The Kang Industries."
"Yeah alright, wait. What?!"

Adventurer Book II - Dawn of an Empire Short story prequel- The Lurking Lair: An Adventuer Series Short Story Summary for the LitRPG savvy reader: Looking for a LitRPG that is more tabletop traditional role playing game and less MMORPG? This is probably your cup of tea. Long term progression with a heavy slice of life element. Strong mix and inclusion of ancient Greek life, values, and myths. Hence, the world can be a bit more harsh and brutish than modern sensibilities. The system is tangible and knowable beyond the MC's insights. The MC is more of an everyman than someone specifically chosen for the experience. Author's Note: This is my debut novel. Up until this point, the only thing I have written of comparable length has been non-fiction and related to history. I am immensely grateful to all the folks who have given me feedback and helped me improve my writing.
