"Do you think she's going to be in here soon?" Chaeryeong asked as she tapped her foot anxiously.
"Yeah, I'm sure it won't be long now. But I'm not the only patient. We have to be, well, patient."
She playfully rolled her eyes as you giggled.
The door opened before she could say another word and stand there was the doctor you've already met once before.
"Y/N, Chaeryeong, so nice to see you!" She grinned. "How are you doing? How are you feeling since I saw you last?"
You shrugged your shoulders and Chaeryeong took your hand into hers, her lips tugging into a smile as you put your hand on your stomach.
There was still no sign of a big bump, although there was a small one. If you looked from a certain angle.
But at only eleven weeks through your pregnancy so far, it wasn't exactly unsurprising since you've been told it won't be a few more weeks until you start to really show.
"Not great, honestly. I'm having severe morning sickness and I'm always so tired."
"That's not anything unusual." The doctor comforted. "Why don't we see how your baby is doing?"
You laid down and Chaeryeong's hand stayed wrapped in yours as some gel was squirted onto your stomach and then the screen turned grey.
You both waited as the doctor did her thing for a moment.
But then, something was said that made you worry.
"Oh..."
"Oh?" Chaeryeong asked with a hint of fear in her voice. "What's wrong?"
"Oh, nothing bad." The doctor assured. "I'm just seeing something that I never noticed before."
"Which is?" You asked anxiously.
"I'm not seeing one baby here. I see two."
You and Chaeryeong went wide-eyed, making the doctor chuckle.

Turning to look at each other, you teared up with happiness right away.
"Two babies? Twins? You're serious?" You excitedly asked.
"I'm serious! Look for yourselves."
You and Chaeryeong, for the very first time, saw the two babies on the screen.
You've only been here once before and when that happened, it was still so early that you just hadn't noticed.
Seeing it now with your own eyes was absolutely beautiful.
"I can't believe it!" Chaeryeong said as she sniffled, using her free hand to wipe her tears away. "Two babies!"
It felt like some sort of miracle. As though someone was watching over you, making your wish to start a family together come true with not just one but two babies.
It felt so surreal.
You couldn't have imagined or predicted something so wonderful happening to you.
Starting a family together wasn't easy in the first place. You went through a long process to get here and despite how sick you've been, you had the thought that it was all for your baby and it would all be worth it.
Now, it was all for your babies.
Two precious and beautiful babies whom you and Chaeryeong would love no matter what.
"Congratulations!" The doctor grinned. "Who have you told so far?"
"No one." You confessed.
"It's been hard but we thought we'd wait until today. This way, we knew everything was okay with the baby- sorry, babies, for sure." Chaeryeong explained.
"Well, now you can share the news that you're having two babies with your friends and families whenever you're ready. Because they are perfectly healthy and so are you." The doctor assured.
"Thank you." You smiled through your tears, your eyes still on the screen.
"Can we have some pictures? Lots of them."
"Sure. But before I go," The doctor paused and pressed a button before you heard the sound of your babies heartbeats. "There you go. I'll be back in a few."
You and Chaeryeong held onto each other, smiling through your tears, and sharing a couple of sweet kisses.
"It's happening," Chaeryeong said. "Two babies, y/n. We're having twins!"
"I can't wait." You said and closed your eyes as she kissed your head, happier and more excited than you've both ever been before.
