Finally! We will get our chance to go home now, and I think it's good, too. I had a not-so-fun day here at the orphanage. We are all sleepy because we did a lot of cleaning.
"Yah! Don't sleep, guys! I might sleep too!" Soobin oppa shouted, driving the van.
"What to do? Oh, wait! Then, let's talk about something," Ryujin said, smiling.
"Ideal type?" Lia unnie asked.
"Aye! That's too boring! In fact, we all know our ideal type, right? We have our own love partners, "Beomgyu said.
, Taehyun said.
I glanced at him at the back as I saw him listening to his wireless earphones again. Does he really need to point me out? I guess he's going to tease me about it.
"Ah, that's right!" They all agreed.
"He's curious, huh?" Yuna whispered to me from the back of my seat.
I was startled because of that, so I looked at her, and I saw her smiling at me, so I just awkwardly smiled at her, too.
"So, Chaeryeong," Yeonjun oppa said, calling my attention.
"U-uh? Yes?" I asked.
"Who's your ideal type?" He asked, giggling as if he was expecting something from me.
What does he mean by "who?"
"Yah! Yeonjun! Don't answer him, Chaeryeong. This is the real question: what's your ideal type?" Yeji unnie asked.
"Come on! Answer it!" Beomgyu said.
"Just wait, you little one," Ryujin chided, and Beomgyu pouted.
"Uhm? Do we really need to talk about my ideal type? " I asked, shyly.
And they all nodded.
"I think I like someone who—"
I was cut by Huening Kai, "You already like someone?!"
"WHO?!" Huening Kai asked, screaming at the top of his lungs.
"Yah!" All of them shouted back at him, so I just giggled.
"Continue," Lia unnie said.
"Well, I love someone who can definitely understand me, take care of me, and guide me since I'm a bit confused about everything. Of course, someone who can really love me and, I think, who can also make me laugh," I said, smiling at them.

I heard Taehyun scowl, "What are you? A baby? I think you need a babysitter not a boyfriend."
"It's okay, Chaeryeong," Lia unnie whispered, smiling at me.
"Why don't you understand her, take care of her, make her laugh, and, of course, love her?" Yuna asked Taehyun.
I widened my eyes, "H-hey!"
"Sure," Taehyun casually said, so we all stopped looking at him in shock.
"Kidding. You guys— aish! I'm not interested in love, particularly in Chaeryeong! Okay?" Taehyun stated, rolling his eyes.
"That's bad," Soobin oppa commented.
"But the two of you look good together, so I'm going to ship you with each other," Beomgyu said, smirking at Taehyun.
I swear, they need to stop shipping me with him because we totally hate each other. Wait, I think there's really something wrong inside my chest.
Am I nervous?
-------
I smiled at them and was about to step out of the car when Taehyun finally opened his mouth to ask.
"Do you live here alone?" He asked without looking at me.
I nodded my head, "Yeah. Why?"
"Is it bad to ask some questions? Hurry up and go to sleep," Taehyun said bluntly, looking at me with his serious look, so I just nodded my head and stepped out of the van.
-------
Another day, another moment of me getting hit by the sunlight. I jumped out of bed and brushed my fingers through my hair.
Oh, no. I'm late!
I quickly took a bath and changed my clothes into my school uniform. I ran outside of my unit because I really needed to go now. 10 minutes left!
I'm so unlucky today! How come there wasn't a cab here?! What to do? I took my phone out of my bag as I dialed Daewhi's number to ask for help.
"Finally! You pick—YAH! MY PHONE!"
When Daehwi finally picked up my call, someone suddenly snatched my phone away from me. I can't believe someone stole my phone in this situation!

"Jebal! Give it to me!" I shouted as I ran after the snatcher.
I grabbed his jacket. That's why I was pulled by him while he was running. The thing is, he harshly removed my hands from his jacket, so I fell on the floor.
I rolled on the ground, leaving scratches on my knees. I stayed on the ground, watching the man run away with my phone. I guess I don't have a choice.
I tried to stand up, but I think I ended up with a knee injury. Aish! This is bad! I once tried to stand up again, and finally I did, but the thing is, I can't really walk properly.
"Oh! What happened?" Yeji unnie asked as soon as she saw me when I arrived at school.
I smiled at her and said, "It's nothing, unnie. I got myself injured."
Why am I so clumsy?
"You're late. You must be in a hurry," Taehyun said, sighing.
"Err? I tried to call her a couple of minutes ago, but someone answered it, and it was a guy. Who's that?" Lia asked, so I widened my eyes.
"You have a boyfriend?" Aisha asked, and that's why I quickly shook my head.
"I actually got into trouble," I said, looking down.
"So what happened?" Seungmin asked.
"Someone stole my phone," I said, as I was still trying to walk slowly.
"Then you tried to catch him?" Seungmin asked again, so I nodded my head, sitting on my chair beside Taehyun.
"What? You should have let him take it. No wonder why you got scratches on your knees," Taehyun said, trying to lower his voice.
Maybe to avoid shipping because I know that if he says it loudly enough, TXTZY will definitely ship and tease us again.
"I'm okay," I said.
"Who asked about you anyway?" He bluntly replied.
"I'm just sharing," I replied as I rolled my eyes.
"Just go to the clinic," Lia Unnie said, still worrying about me.
"No need to. It was just a minor thing—" I was cut by Taehyun.
"Who do you think you can fool here? It's pretty obvious that you injured yourself," Taehyun said, so I looked away.
"Kaja. I'm going to take you there." Seungmin said, walking towards me.
"No, Seungmin. No need to," I said, smiling at him to make him believe that I was really okay.
"Just go," Taehyun said without even looking at me.
"I don't want to skip classes right now," I said, lowering my head while playing with my fingers.
"Give me your notebooks, then I'll take down all the notes," Taehyun said. I looked at him with a shocked expression on my face. Then I saw him rolling his eyes, so I smiled a bit.
"Don't be shocked. I'm just doing this because I'm.." and then, he stopped.
He looked away, "Nevermind. Just go. "
"You're what?" I asked.
"I'm just concerned, okay? I'm concerned." He said as he slammed his notebook on the table.
"O-okay," I replied as I looked at Seungmin.
"Kaja?" He asked, so I nodded my head and tried to stand up with the help of Seungmin.
We walked slowly out of the room, and while walking in the hallway, I couldn't help but smile. I'm not sure why I'm relieved to know that Taehyun is concerned about me.
I must be inlove---- No!

A Will Eternal
A Will Eternal is the fourth major xianxia novel by the renowned Er Gen. It tells the tale of Bai Xiaochun, an endearing but exasperating young man who is driven primarily by his fear of death and desire to live forever, but who deeply values friendship and family. The story takes place in the same Universe as Er Gen's other novels, but is a separate story and can be read alone. That said, it does have connections to the other novels, especially I Shall Seal the Heavens. Those connections only pertain to a handful of chapters, so you can read the novel as a whole and enjoy it without first reading ISSTH. However, the best reading experience would begin with the later portions of ISSTH. This novel is much more comedic and light-hearted than Er Gen's previous works, although it has its fair share of action and drama. Rooms of the Desolate
Rooms of the Desolate is a collection of short stories designed to guide the reader through the many rooms and mysteries of the bleak and greyscale labyrinth of the Desolate. The first entry, "The Forever Tower" follows an unnamed wanderer climbing an endless, colourless tower; the only world they have ever known. As they slowly ascend alongside the masses, they consider the nature of their world and look to the corridors as temptation beckons. The second entry, "Production Line", follows an engineer in a boundless factory, who encounters a product that does not wish to bow to the overseers and makes them question their belief in the truth and duties they were made to believe. Content guidelines: Current entries do not include explicit profanity, but future entries may do so, hence the presence of that tag. Some entries do include gore and violence, though not currently to particularly extreme degrees. The Desolate is exactly that: a desolate world; as such, it is bleak, downtrodden, and may deal with mental struggles. Cover art credit: Adam Borkowski on Pexels.
