'Officer Webber' You say sadly as you answer the door.
'Daisy. Are you ready?' He holds out an arm for you and you gulp before you take it. He leads you over to the patrol car, opening the door for you. You give a warm Thankyou and step inside. As the door closes on you you feel your breath hitch a little. Today was the day.
The drive to the courthouse was silent for a while. You leaned your head against the window and stared out as you pass the houses.
'So, I've been listening to Captain America's speeches on the radio...' Officer Webber tries to make conversation.
A smile spreads across your face as you hear his title. 'He seemed like a great man, when I met him' Officer Webber continues.
You turn tour head to him. He was focused on the road, two hands on the wheel. Driving at a nice and easy pace.
'No doubt about it' You say back sweetly.
'How long is he away for?'
You sigh. 'Sorry I didn't mean...'
'No' You stop him apologising. 'It's fine. Seven more weeks. Unless....' You stop yourself a moment. 'Unless they get called to war...' You gulp as you say the words.
'Well. He's pretty much indestructible now isn't he? Super soldier their calling him'
You chuckle a little but it's from nerves. 'Yeah...yeah...'
You pull up to the courthouse and Officer Webber turns to face you. 'Are you sure you're up for this?'
You take one more breath and close your eyes. All you can see is Steve and Bucky cheering you on.
'Im up for it' You say back sincerely.
(ONE HOUR LATER)
You take a deep breath and knock on the door. You swallow your pride and clench your fists. You had to do this.

' W-what're you doing here?' Peggy answers the door to see you standing there.
'My mother was just charged with assistance to murder' You blurt out.
Peggy frowns. 'I'm sorry?'
'Me too. Because at first I thought you had killed my father. Turns out it was her new husband. They've just got a warrant out for his arrest'
Peggy looks at you confused. 'Why're you telling me this?'
As your eyes meet you feel your stomach churn. 'May I come in?' You ask as politely as you can.
Peggy goes to say something but stops herself before pushing the door open further.
You step into the hallway and she leads you down to a living room. It was the complete opposite of minimalistic. A large grandfather clock in one corner of the room and a shelf of antique plates stacked high in the other.
'Wow...' You look around shocked.
Peggy clears her throat and that's when you realise you were gawking.
'So now I'm free of suspected murder. What do you want?' Peggy tries to stand her ground.
'I need your help' You say back bluntly. Peggy scoffs and you raise your eyebrows.
'Daisy. You were the reason I was fired'
'Correction. I believe you were the reason I was fired'
'Daisy...'
'No. Just listen. You're going to help me, or I get Steve to press charges'
'For what?!'
'Sexual harassment'
'You can't be serious?'
You give her a small smirk and you see the colour drain from her face. 'Try me'
'Okay...okay...what do you need?'
'The serum' You say back plainly.
'I-I'm sorry?'
'The serum. I want the serum'

Essentia Animus
Second Book of the Soul - Celesi Veil Trilogy When the living essence of three girls are put at risk, giving room for a second essence within themselves, even their hyper developed fantasy world might not be enough to contain their new found ambitions. Another story of another world, these three girls must adapt to their new essence, all while each is left to question if they are truly still even alive. While this story is a sequel of the previous story in the trillogy, it is also fully capable of standing alone in its own light, taking place in a distant corner of a Celese returning readers will be otherwise incapable of recognizing. However, the events of the story are a spoiler for the previous book, in case that matters to anyone. This story takes place over two centuries after the events of Vitae Memorandum, when Celese had developed into an advanced world, improved to a point that it is much like modern-day Earth while still using the gift instead of technology. The Aethyx languages are still present in this book, and even English still exists in the world after the events of the previous book, but are much less of a focus after the same closing events of the previous book. What is instead important is how the ending events of the previous book had resulted in the start of the Instrumentation Era, and exactly how the gift translates in a modern-day sense. While this book is still effectively a fantasy world of its own kind of magic, it isn’t the classical medieval scene that would be typical for such a story. The laws of science still do not exist in Celese, but that didn’t stop it from developing into something that looks similar enough. Earth itself still remains present on the other side of the veil, and its previous exposure continues to shape and advance Celese into the world it has become. This story contains scenes exibiting mania and similar dark themes, as it goes to great length to explore concepts of life and death. While the degree of such themes should not be considered to be as serious compared to matters such as actual horror, the psychological depth is still siginifcant enough to be potentially concerning for people sensitive to matters of this nature, such as any individuals with concerns questioning matters of suicide, mental harm, or a variety of emotional injuries. While none of these subjects actually occur in the story, readers who are currently troubled by such matters may find themselves considering old wounds if they are especially capable of empathy while reading, which could lead to furthered emotional or mental stress. Readers with a high capacity for empathy may find themselves troubled by concerns regarding any potential lack of mental/emotional control as well as considerations regarding the meaning of death. Readers who appreciate subtle dark themes in a story may instead find this to be an interesting twist of the same idea.
