《Distraction》I thought we had more time.

As you hear Steve's footsteps bombing down the stairs you chuckle as you flip the bacon.
'Did I get you all worked up Captain? Breakfast won't be long!' You laugh. The footsteps come closer towards you but that wasn't anything to be suspicious about. You carry on scrambling your eggs. Not bothering to look behind you but continuing to talk to Steve. 'You know, that's one thing I'm going to miss when you're on tour away. Cooking. Especially since Bucky's going with you! Although I'll save a fortune on the food shop!' You laugh to yourself before you scoop the eggs and bacon onto a plate.
You turn the gas stove top off and turn around. Gasping. You feel like all the breath has been taken from your lungs. Steve was down on one knee in-front of you, presenting you with a box. Inside, the most beautiful ring you'd ever seen. It was the shape of a Daisy. A diamond stone glistening in the middle.
Tears immediately prick your eyes and your hand reaches for the Daisy chain around your neck.
'Steve...' You whisper out as you begin to sniffle.
'Daisy. This isn't how I wanted to do it. But I can't wait any longer. I know I'm going away on tour for six weeks, I know it's going to be hard. But I meant it when I asked you to marry me a couple weeks back, I meant every word. You are mine and I am yours. I have and will continue to love and support you, just like you do for me everyday. You are the most selfless, beautiful, kind, caring, badass woman I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. You're all I want for the rest of my life. I know I say to the end of the line with Bucky. But with you, I want until the end of my days. All I ask is that you still make me blueberry muffins on a Sunday morning. So, my Daisy. Will you Marry me?'

A tear runs down Steve's face as he delivers his beautiful speech.
'I've been making you blueberry muffins every sunday for over a decade. Why stop now?' You chuckle in between a sob. 'Of course I'll marry you Steve!'
Steve stands up and places the ring on your finger. It fitted perfectly, as if it were always meant to be. Which is was.
Steve scoops you up and twirls you around in the air. Your hands find there way into Steve's hair and as you look at him you find his lips. Crashing yours to his with copious amounts of love and passion.
'I love you Daisy' Steve pants out in between kisses.
'I love you Steve' You say back sincerely.
'And I love the smell of bacon in the morning!' Bucky calls out.
You and Steve both laugh and Steve lowers you down.
'I guess a congratulations is in order?' Bucky asks and you point out your hand, which was still trembling. Bucky squeals like a school girl before darting to your side. Picking you up and throwing you in the air. 'CONGRATULATIONS!'
As he catches you and puts you down he pulls Steve into a hug also. 'I'm so happy for you Pal!'
'Thank Buck' Steve says genuinely.
You hand Bucky his plate of food and his eyes widen. 'Jesus Daisy!'
'What? I don't have much time left to fatten you both up before the tour!'
The three of you burst into laughter before Bucky takes his place at the table. Tucking into his breakfast.
You hand Steve his plate and grab yours and you both follow him. The three of you sitting together.
'I have the TV in the truck. I also brought you the phone from my place, I thought Steve could ring. Keep in contact with you' Bucky says confidently with a mouthful of bacon.
'Thankyou Buck, that's really thoughtful' You say gratefully.
'It will definitely make me feel better knowing I can call' Steve agrees.

'What time do we leave Monday?' Steve asks Bucky.
'Monday? We leave first thing in the morning'
Yours and Steve's face both fall.
'W-what? No. No it's Monday. Monday the 5th'
'Steve, tomorrow's the 5th...' You whisper out defeatedly.
'Dammit!' Steve shouts.
Bucky looks at you both before sighing. 'Sorry'
'It's not your fault Buck' You give him a sad smile.
'I just thought we had more time together' Steve sighs.
Bucky gives you both a sympathetic look. 'I wish you could have but we got to get on the road. Stark's picking me up at 6am and we're coming straight here'
You nod and clear your throat. Steve starts playing with the food on his plate rather than eating it.
You wanted to support him but losing out on the extra day you thought you had was a serious kick in the teeth.
'Hey, Steve!' You turn to face him and he looks up at you. 'Good job you woke me up at 5am huh? Every minute counts'
Steve forces a smile but you look at Bucky worried. 'You'll look after eachother right? I mean. I know you're not actually going to eat but..'
'Daisy. Don't worry' Bucky reaches out for your hand. Giving it a small squeeze. 'I got him, I'll keep him in check'
'Yeah right' Steve now chips in. 'You and I both know that you're the troublemaker'
The tension eases a little and you feel yourself take a breath.
'Well, it's our final day together guys. What do you want to do?'
'I was actually going to give you guys space for the day...'
'Buck you don't have to...'
'No. No I want too. I'm going to head to my sisters anyway. Annoy her a couple times before I Say goodbye'
'Come back for dinner?'
'No guys really, I don't want to impose'
'Please Buck?' You plead a little.
Bucky looks at Steve and Steve nods. 'Dinner isn't the same without you. And it's the last meal Daisy will be cooking for you for six weeks'
'Then how could I say no?' Bucky smiles before standing up. Taking his plate over to the sink before coming round to you both. 'See you for dinner then?' Giving you both a warm smile.
'See you then' You say back as happy as you could before the door closes behind him.
You and Steve sit at the table in silence for a while. You tried your best not to dwell. This was suppose to be a happy day. You looked down at the ring on your finger but you couldn't help but feel the tears fall off your face.
'Steve...' You mumble.
Steve quickly whips his head around to you, hearing the crack in your voice.
You meet his gaze and you could see he had the same expression. Reality had set in.
'Yeah?' He says carefully.
'You'll come back to me, right? I mean. You won't find some other...'
'Daisy. I literally just proposed! Did you not hear my speech?!' Steve takes your hand and squeezes it before wiping your tears softly.
'I know. I know. It was a beautiful speech. And I know you meant it. I'm just..forget it. I'm being ridiculous' You sigh in frustration.
'No your not' Steve gulps. 'It's going to be hard. But I'll ALWAYS come home to you. Until the end of our days. Remember?'
You smile and lean in. Kissing him tenderly. 'End of our days. Captain'
Steve stands up. Lifting you off the seat and carrying you over his shoulder.
'Steve!' You shout out as he leads you up the stairs. 'I'm getting deja vu here!'
'Yeah? Only this time. I'm finishing the job!' Steve teases. Slapping you on the ass as he takes you into the bedroom.

Leftover Apocalypse
[Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] This is a story about the newly-adult Calliope Smith having a terrible day that ends in her getting mysteriously teleported from Phoenix, Arizona to a fantasy world where her life is in constant danger. She considers this an upgrade. Someone evil is looking for her, and she doesn't know why. Someone who seems to know a lot about her has promised they'll help her, but she doesn't know who they are. All that matters to Callie is that magic is real and one way or another she's going to learn it. The end of the world is coming up, sure, but Callie won't need to worry about that. In fact, by the time she even finds out about it one of the doomsday devices will already be destroyed, and the authorities will be well on the way to dealing with the other one. It's fine. Everything will be smooth sailing. Almost certainly. Probably. Chapters are usually about 2500-3500 words, and the goal is to post 2-3 per week but I sometimes get busy or have some writers block. It's your standard portal fantasy / Isekai premise, but unlike some the main character's time on Earth and how she got pulled into another world will (eventually) be explored. Some slight GameLit-feeling stuff later, no menus or level-ups but there's something suspiciously like a skill tree when the magic system gets going. No number crunching, and while the main character will get to do some silly stuff she won't be a god like in some fics (and will in fact spend a lot of time being badly outclassed by her enemies). Some reader interaction, ranging from adding to the worldbuilding to occasionally making big important decisions about skill progression. Please note that the main character is flawed and impulsive, and will make some stupid decisions. That's part of the story, but I get that it's not for everyone. Trigger Warnings: Foster care system references, crappy parenting. Some mental health adjacent stuff, specifically the main character has some issues where she experiences varying levels of empathy and emotional vulnerability depending on the day (it's complicated and not meant to portray any real-world conditions). Occasional violence including mention of death and grievous bodily harm, but no detailed descriptions of gore.

The Aether Universe
It was a normal morning for Tai, until his longtime friend, Jake, warned him. Jake warned him that something was happening to Earth, the whole universe. It was being integrated into the Aether Universe, where all worlds and universes go to. Entering the Aether Universe, humans must survive in a new environment filled with danger at every corner where many beings that have spent all their lives in the Aether Universe await, controlling vast empires that span across many planets. Follow the story of Tai as he travels the Aether Universe, getting used to the new normal, making a name for himself and becoming a legend. --Author's Note-- This is my first book here and this book is inspired by The Legend of Randidly Ghosthound. The way to get status points were based on the way in Unlimited Power - The Arcane Path. Note: I'm only borrowing the way to get status points as I thought it was cool. I am an amateur author and am writing this as a cool hobby to get me through quarantine. If you see any grammar mistakes or anything, please let me know. Criticism is accepted, but don't use that as an excuse to just hate the book. If you don't like the book, tell me why so I can improve upon it. Cheers! Schedule: 1 chap a day

Impressed at the Mage's efforts, an ancient, powerful being, the Creator of Gods, has now chosen him, to become one of the Dungeon Gods of a new world in a new segment of reality. Their directive, to bring life to this new world. Follow him, as he brings forth the knowledge his efforts awarded him, and pits it against his unprepared competitors, in a bid to be the first to create sentient life. This is my first full on story, and is mostly going to be a learning experience for me. It is going to be a story following the life of Arcius as a Dungeon God, with very few POV swaps, if any. If I make any errors, either in spelling or in grammer, please let me know, and I will endevour to correct them ASAP. I was inspired to create this story after reading the Scale Dungeon, by TheSilverGunner, here on RRL. It is a good story, despite having only a few chapter out at the time of writing this. I highly recommend that you read that story if you find this one interesting.
