'Where is he?!' Howard bursts through the hospital room door and your eyes widen.

'Howard?! What the...'

'I own the hospital Daisy. It's literally called Starks Royal Infirmary'

You roll your eyes but a tear rolls down your face. 'Of course you do' You chuckle. Shaking your head.

You were sat next to Bucky's bedside. Holding his hand.

'Tell me how it happened' Howard asks panicked.

'Howard what are you...'

He cuts you off again. 'Was it an act of courage? Bravery? Anything of the sort?' He pants fast as he opens a briefcase. Pulling out one of the largest needles you've ever seen. A clear liquid inside the tube attached to it.

'W-what are you?'

'Daisy I need you to stop asking questions and actually answer mine' Howard snaps, and that gets your attention.

'Yes, yes it was, from what I could gather, I mean. Steve did this to him, and still asked me if I'd marry him. You can't really get more noble and trusting than that' Your voice breaks. You sniffle and take a breath.

'Good enough for me' Howard nods before he walks up to Bucky's bedside and jabs the needle into him without any warning. Following the substance into him.

You immediately shoot up and try to pull Howard's arm but his grip was locked on the syringe.

'What the hell are you doing?!'

'I'm giving him the super soldier serum' Howard says plainly, pulling the needle back out once the liquid had been fully consumed into Bucky's bloodline.

'No!' You shriek. 'That's what caused Steve to do this in the first place!'

Howard frowns 'That's impossible. The serum only effects physical side effects. Nothing mental or emotional. If Steve did this to him, then it was from his own capability'

'Yes, but..'

'Daisy I know what you're thinking. Steve wasn't strong enough to take Bucky on before. But now he is. The serum gave him the strength but it didn't nothing to his mental capacity'

'So Steve just...'

Howard shirts and places a hand on your shoulder. 'Sorry Daisy, but yes. Steve did this all on his own'

You start to cry louder and Howard sighs before leaning down and pulling you into a hug. You let go of Bucky's hand and cling to Howard desperately. Just in need of comfort. You were utterly confused, you had no idea what had really happened between Bucky and Steve, but if Howard was correct on this serum, then Steve wanted to do this, and you never thought your Steve would ever be capable of such a thing.

Bucky let's our a groan and Howard jumps up off of you and you grab his hand again, giving it a squeeze.

'Hey! Hey! Take it easy Buck...I'm here. It's me it's...'

'Daisy' Bucky smiles. His eyes closed.

'The one and only' You let out a soft cry but you laugh at the same time.

Bucky's eyes open and his hand moves up to cup your face. You drop your hand form his and he wipes the tears from your eyes.

'How're you feeling?' Howard asks proudly.

'Good. Really good...' Bucky admits. He tries to sit up but Howard steps in 'Woah. Easy pal, Steve collapsed after the drum, we don't want the same to happen to you'

'Serum?'

'You become a probable candidate with your act of bravery from what Daisy told me. So I came here and gave it to you'

'T-Thankyou..' Bucky says slightly shocked but excited all at the same time.

He manages to shift up a little and you hand him a cup of water.

'Easy Buck. Please'

Bucky gives you a soft smile before taking a sip of the water.

'Your appendix was hit on impact from the kick...you were in surgery for two hours'

'What?!' Bucky jolts up.

'Bucky! Take it easy!'

'They removed my appendix?!' He shouts out annoyed.

'There was no other way' You let a small sob slip.

Bucky nods and closes his eyes. Taking a breath with frustration.

'What happened Buck?' You ask genuinely.

'I'll Uh...I'll give you both a moment. I'll be back to check on the serum effects later' Howard announces.

You stand up and pull him into a hug. Your grip tight on him. 'Thankyou Howard. Thankyou so much'

As you pull back his hands linger on your waist for a brief moment. 'Anything for you Daisy...' Howard says sweetly.

In the next flash you hear the curtains of Bucky's cubicle be pulled back.

Your head turns to see Steve. At first relief washes over his face seeing bucky was awake and alive. Then his fists clench when he sees Howard. His hands placed on you. Your eyes widen as you realise and you step back from Howard's grip.

'Captain Rogers' Howard clears his throat. 'How're you feeling?'

'Leave' Steve spits.

'Steve!' You should out.

He gives you a glare but you give it back.

'Like I said. I'll check on you later' Howard calls out to Bucky before escaping the cubicle which now seemed awfully claustrophobic.

'What the hell Daisy?!' Steve walks towards you.

'Oh no. Don't turn this around on me. Not after what you did!' You point to Bucky on the bed.

'He looks fine to me' Steve shrugs.

'He's had surgery and a super soldier serum in order to fucking survive!' You point your finger into his muscles chest.

Your words hit Steve like a tonne of bricks. 'I nearly...'

'Yes! He nearly died. And yet he STILL defended you the entire time, so tell me and Bucky right now, what on Earth has gotten into you?!'

'Daisy I...'

'You know what? I don't even know if I want to hear it. MY Steve would never do this. Enjoy the spotlight, 'Captain' Rogers' You turn your back on Steve and go over to Bucky's bedside. Taking the cup of water out of his hand and giving it a gentle squeeze.

'I'll come back later'

Bucky nods. 'Thankyou Daisy. But please, don't forget our promise'

You can't help but smile at him 'I haven't forgotten, will you be okay with Steve? Should I call security or..'

'No' Bucky immediately cuts that option out. 'We'll be fine. Til the end of the line remember?' Bucky looks up at Steve but Steve didn't have the courage to meet his gaze. Disgusted with himself for what he did.

'Okay' You sigh. Knowing you won't be able to convince him otherwise.

As you go to walk out you feel Steve's eyes on you but you ignore them.

The moment you're gone Steve sits down in the chair next to Bucky and can barely speak

'Buck I...'

'Save the apology Steve. Tell me what really happened?' He begs.
