《Distraction》Do you trust me?

"Where do you think you are going petal?" Your father calls out as you head out of the front door.
"Oh just to Steve's, I won't be gone long"
"Because of your date with Howard Stark?" You father says proudly. You gulp.
"H-how did you?"
"You came by last night and asked for my permission to take you out, I agreed and told him where he could find you, I'm assuming he went to the diner for you?" He looks at you, beaming ear to ear with a smile you haven't seen in a long time. A genuine smile. You didn't have the heart to discourage the idea when he looked at you that way.
"He did" You nod and your father's smile widens.
You head out of the door in a bit more of a hurried frenzy and practically crash through Steve's front door.
'Steve Rogers get that ass of yours here right now!' You shout out.
You hear Steve's footsteps scurry down the stairs, followed by the thud of Bucky's steps behind him.
'Oh I'm sorry, was I interrupting a make out session?' You tease them. Bucky puts you in a headlock and the two of you begin to scrap. You bite his arm and he lets you go. You stick your tongue out at him and he flips you the middle finger.
"Are you two finished?" Steve groans out to the both of you.
You and Bucky give eachother a small nod of truce and you pull yourself onto Steve's kitchen counter.
"I need to make this date a failure and I don't know how too..."
"Just be yourself, I'm sure he won't like you then" Bucky says jokingly. You grab an apple and launch it at his head, he catches it and takes a bite before winking at you.
Steve rolls his eyes and shakes his head.

"Bucky, you've been on thousands of dates, what turns you off?" You question him. Bucky bursts into a fit of hysterics and you frown.
"Ugh, you two are useless!" You get up off the counter and walk out the door in annoyance.
Steve looks at Buck and he lets out a sigh.
"Well..go get her!" Bucky smirks at Steve.
"Seriously Buck? I can't ask her out now because..."
"Stop talking to me and go after your girl!" He shouts sternly.
Steve gets up sheepishly and sighs. He heads outside to see you sitting on the bench on his front porch. He sits next to you and you lean into him. He puts an arm around you and you take a deep breath.
"I really don't want to go Steve" You whine.
"Why?" Steve questions. You sit up off him and turn to face him instead. His arm still around you. You couldn't exactly say because I want you instead so you bite your lip and think for a moment.
"He's just...he's not the one, I guess"
"But, how do you know who the one is?" Steve gulps. He was trying to think of how to tell you that for him, you was the one. But he couldn't find the words.
"I just...know" You drop your head down and your hands find the daisy necklace and you start fiddling it for comfort. Making Steve blush, he knew how much you loved that necklace. He thought about your reaction to it way more often than he liked to admit. The way the dimple on the right side of your face protruded as the the most beautiful smile plastered your face. You cried and pulled him into the most warming embrace you've ever experienced. You kissed him on the cheek and told him you adored it almost as much you adored him. That was eight years ago. He should have kissed you there and then. And several times since.

"So why are you going then?" Steve finally asks. He didn't want to stop you if you wanted to go, but you didn't, so why was you bothering? He was confused.
"You should have seen my fathers face Steve. He lit up like a Christmas tree at the thought of me going out with the one and only Howard Stark" You rolled your eyes. Steve knew exactly what you meant. He knew how much you wanted to please him, Steve knew the troubles he had and everything you did for him. Steve appreciated your father, looked up to him his whole life, but he sometimes hated the pressure your father put onto you. One of the reasons Steve enlisted was to prove his worth to your father. To show him he could be a worthy man fo thou, although he never actually told your father this. He would rather show him. Actions speak louder than words, Steve thought.
"Daisy..."
"I know what you're going to say Steve, I know, but I have to go, I can't let my father down, one date and I'll tell him it didn't work out, I'll come up with an excuse, but I just...I owe him this little thing..I can do it, I just.."
"You don't want too" Steve finished your sentence.
He lifts your chin up and brushes his thumb across your lip without hesitation. Goosebumps spike your arms and face and you immediately blush. Steve realises what he did and he pulls away shyly and awkwardly. It was a genuine moment between the two of you. That one little touch. That was all it took for your hearts to race and your thoughts to swirl.
You both sit in silence slightly uncomfortable and breathless.
"I better go get ready..." You chew on your lip nervously. Still feeling the touch of Steve's thumb across it.
"Yea..yeah...okay...good luck" Steve stutters out. Barely able to form a sentence.
You nod and Steve watches as you head out and go into your house. The moment you're out of view Steve puts his head into his hands and let's out a frustrated shout.
"That could have gone better pal, I gotta say" Bucky announces as he comes outside.
"You were watching, wasn't you?" Steve looks up at him.
Bucky wince's "It was pretty brutal"
Steve forks at him and heads inside.
"Steve come on I was joking! It wasn't that bad..." Bucky follows Steve back inside and apologises.
"What do I do now Buck?" Steve asks helplessly "I don't want to watch her go on a date with another man. It should be me"
Bucky thinks for a moment before a grin appears across his face.
"Oh no. Whatever it is, don't even think about it Buck" Steve says firmly. Seeing the devilish grin.
"Do you trust me?" Bucky asks Steve.
"Don't play that card!"
'But do you?"
'Yes" Steve sighs.
"Then get ready, we're going to follow them, we are going to make it the worst first date ever" Bucky smirks.
"Are you insane?! Daisy will kill us!" Steve scowls.
"Daisy won't know!" Bucky shouts back.
Bucky puts an arm around Bucky and steve pries himself from Bucky's grip.
"Come on pal, you can't let her fall for the one and only Howard Stark!" Bucky knew exactly what to say.
"Fine" Steve agrees. "But if this goes wrong, you're taking the blame!"
"Don't I always?" Bucky laughs.

Glitch
I always dreamed of being one of the Awakened, one of the heroes that fights back the Insanity on his own terms. They’re always pictured driving the newest cars, wearing the latest clothes, using the best gene-mods and implants. They’re supposed to be more than just human. At least, that’s what I thought until I Awakened. Now my life is a mess of corporate intrigue, shifty politics, cyberzombies and at least one group of revolutionaries whose ideas are sounding better every day. I never wanted to be the punk that brought the system down, but the temptation to just glitch out is growing by the minute. Glitch is a Cyberpunk LitRPG set in a near future where some people are given abilities that allow them to do things that no normal human could ever do. This fiction is written, maintained and owned by Edgar Malboeuf. Copyright 2018

Delicate as Glass
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Nuri, an [Assistant Glassworker], only has a single Skill. It’s really not fair. He’s worked in the hot shop his entire life, following in his father’s footsteps after his parents passed away, but he’s stuck. Despite possessing above-average talent as an artisan, he still hasn’t shed his [Assistant] status, gained a second Skill, or even leveled enough to reach the first Threshold. Besides, he’s bored; most days he daydreams of adventure and becoming a hero, or pines for the renown that’s sure to be his if he evolves his Class into a [Master Glass Smith], but nothing ever changes—until suddenly, fate strikes, and nothing is ever the same again. These days, Nuri sees more magic, prestige, and adventure than he can handle as he gets swept up in realm-shaking conspiracies and desperate fights for his life. Maybe a boring life wasn’t so bad after all. Disclaimers: 1) Names were mostly chosen through random generators and aren’t necessarily final. If they seem derivative or boring, blame RNG. 2) Skills, Classes, levels, and the entire system is currently a work in progress; please be kind if it’s not very well fleshed out yet. 3) This is the first full-length novel I've set out to write without a single plot point ready. I had nothing in mind other than a recent visit to a hot shop. Molten glass is pretty awesome. 4) Related, I know much less about glass than I’d like. I did some research, but mistakes are bound to happen. If you have a correction, thanks! Please be polite about it. 5) The prose is my experimental attempt at first-person, present tense. I realize it may not be everyone’s preference, but I hope you’ll give it a try anyway!

Same Crap, Different World
A young man from early 21st century wakes up in a different world. This world is like a typical setting of an fantasy isekai novel. But it is also not. There is magic, alchemy, magical creatures, different non-human races, peasants and nobles, demons and dragons. But there is also politics, persecution, supremacism of every kind, entitlement, slavery and other unpleasant human tendencies. In short, this new world does not differ much from his old one. However, besides him, there may be others who have made such a strange trip, and awakened into this new world. There certainly have been others, in the past. But more than people and other living things, there have been items. All sorts of items, which are regarded as otherworldly artifacts with unknown danger and power. And he himself is an artifact as well, albeit a living one. Therefore he has use for the powers that be. He is also given a role and expectations to fulfill, to hide his real value. And in all that he still has to make sense of what has happened, what is happening, and find a way back, if possible. Author's note: I write this project mostly in (except chapter 1) in 60-100 page (40,000-70,000 word) chapters, edit them as such and later cut them down for publishing into 7-11 page segments (depending on natural breaks in the flow). Therefore, each chapter may be divided into 10-15 subchapters.
