eyelids felt heavy. they sunk down bearing a heavyweight. he rubbed his tired eyes with his fingers. he was groggy. namjoon slowly turned, looking at the girl in front of him.
"haru." namjoon blinked, "what are you doing?"
haru looked behind her, "oh, good morning namjoon."
haru smiled. her smile shined brighter than the stars as she grinned at the black-haired man across from her.
"i'm vandalizing."
namjoon broke into ripples of laughter, "why?"
haru was carving little details into the cemented walls. tiny stars and flowers embedded the gray cement.
"why not."
namjoon leaped from the ground. he wrapped his arms like chains around the shorter girl, locking her into a warm back hug.
"you're too cute, you know."
a rosy blush seared up her face. her face flushed a light pink. she felt his chest pressed up against her back, holding her tight in a soft bear hug.
her heart pounded out of control in perfect synchrony with his. the world around them melted away as the warmth between them was shared. she didn't want him to let go.
as they parted, the cold breeze surged in between them, replacing the tender happiness.
namjoon looked outside the cell, "since when do we have a guard here?"
haru shrugged, "he's been there since i woke up."
namjoon stared at haru. how on earth were they going to escape now?
"well, i guess this is our new home." namjoon plopped towards the ground, "i'm going to make myself comfortable."
haru sat down beside namjoon.
she winked at him, "i've got an idea."
***
namjoon paced around the room.
"i don't feel very good, haru." namjoon held his forehead.
namjoon took in deep raspy breaths. his fingers shook as he stood up. his legs felt weak.

"haru-"
namjoon collapsed to the ground. his body laid still on the concrete flooring.
"namjoon!" haru shrieked, "oh my god!"
haru dashed towards namjoon. her heart pummeled inside her chest. she pressed her hand on his forehead.
haru screamed at the top of her lungs, "somebody help!"
she looked at the guard outside her door, immersed in his phone. she grabbed the bars, clasping her hands together.
"please help," she begged.
the guard turned her direction. he furrowed his brows, that was namjoon. he fumbled with the keys in his pocket, hurrying to open the door. he couldn't let anything happen to namjoon.
haru pushed back her hair. her lips trembled, seeing namjoon on the ground like this.
she tapped the guard, looking up into his eyes, "i think he's dehydrated."
she glanced back at namjoon and then the guard. time for action.
"you know." haru closed in on the guard, "you're kinda hot."
haru put her arms on the guard's shoulders. she stared into his eyes, smiling sweetly at him.
she leaned in, "if he wasn't my boyfriend. you'd totally be my type."
haru grazed her fingertips across the guard's forehead, lightly brushing his bangs away.
the guard smirked at her, "isn't that what cheatings for."
his lips brushed against her ear, making her shiver slightly. his hand landed on her waist, gazing into her eyes.
haru ran her hands down his arms.
"you're kinda cute too," he chuckled.
haru acted flustered from his gesture. she looked away from the guard's face in an attempt to hide the growing red flush.
"i think you should go get some water for my boyfriend." she whispered, "before we get caught."
haru waited as the guard slipped out of the cell, forgetting to lock it.

haru smacked namjoon's face, "wake up dumbass."
namjoon opened his eyes, his black orbs were met with her brown ones.
he groaned, holding his back, "that fall hurt like a bitch."
haru chortled as namjoon sat upright.
"he felt you up so much." namjoon pouted.
haru flicked namjoon's forehead. a childish smile covered her face, complimenting her features.
"we're not even dating namjoon."
she playfully chuckled, but she couldn't deny the thundering of her heart.
he smiled softly at haru, "did you get it?"
haru dangled the keys in front of namjoon's eyes.
she giggled, "and that's not all i got."
namjoon raised his eyebrows. he narrowed his eyes, waiting for haru to go on.
haru pulled out a black glossy item from her back pocket. her lips upturned into a slight smirk.
"i found this little beauty too."
she caressed the gun with her hands, raising it in front of namjoon.
"you're just full of surprises aren't you, haru."
haru slapped his arm, "let's get going before he comes back."
"okay babygirl."
haru opened the cell door, tossing the gun at namjoon. she slipped through the door, waiting for namjoon behind her.
"so captain." she led the way, "where are we off to."
"to find the rest of bangtan, of course."
namjoon cocked the gun. he winked at haru.
"follow me."
namjoon pressed his back onto the wall. he reeled the gun tight against his shoulder. they swept past corners and nooks, checking the cells one by one.
"nope." haru sighed, "empty."
ear-splitting alarms blared adjourned with flashing red lights.
"oh shit." haru mumbled.
gunshots ran towards the pair.
namjoon broke out in a cold sweat. his heart pounded against his ribcage.
"run haru!" namjoon shrieked, "get to the last cell!"
haru dashed behind namjoon as bullets flew in all sorts of directions. they only had one more cell to check.
namjoon sprinted across the hallway. he landed in front of the last door.
namjoon reloaded his gun, "figure out which key it is while i take them out."
namjoon pulled the trigger back to back. he ducked as another bullet missed him.
"haru, can you maybe hurry up a little bit!" namjoon yelped as he dodged left, "i'm running out of bullets over here."
namjoon looked over his shoulder at haru.
"i'm working on it namjoon!" haru tried the next key on the chain.
haru clicked the key into the keyhole, she turned it around.
"i got it!" haru pushed the door open, "hurry the fuck up and get inside!"
namjoon bolted inside the premises of the door, slamming it shut as he entered.
a sudden lightheadedness washed over haru. she wobbled as she walked towards the cell. the floor swayed with her every step.
"namjoon." haru's head spun, "i don't feel so good."
haru took on a pale look, it was as if her face had been painted with white chalk. a sharp pain shot through her head.
"haru." namjoon held her by the shoulder, "what's wrong?"
haru's chest tightened. her legs felt like jello. she shook her head to the side.
"i don't feel so good."
black clouds swept their way into her vision. everything had gone fuzzy. nausea crept towards her head.
"namjoon-"
with one step forward she crumbled, crashing straight into namjoon's arms.
