《Best Friends With The Bad Boy ✓》4 - People Will Change Over Two Years

This was it.
The first day of school.
Yes, that was a very clichéd line but it was how every blonde teenager would start off with in the morning after yawning, running a hand through their tangle-free hair then gracefully rolling out of bed. After that they would glance at their mirror and make a face at their... Face which had flawless makeup and they would proceed to get ready of school, leaving their house right on time with an aura of confidence stuck to them.
I was doing great up to the... Yawning part. I didn't yawn.
I roared.
Yes, I wasn't the most ladylike person in the morning. Anyway I didn't bother running a hand through my hair because I would feel knots and when I landed on the floor with a thump I just gave up right there and then.
Then I saw the time.
7:29?!
I only had an hour and thirty one minutes to get ready, get to school, get my schedule and get even a CLUE of how to not be stampeded on my first day. I climbed out of my bed, running to the bathroom. I then proceeded to brush my teeth, take a shower and brush my already wavy hair.
Afterwards I changed into the outfit I had picked out the night before. It consisted of a cropped tank top with a cute pastel design on it, a light pink skirt which was a bit short at the front and longer at the back, a blue denim jacket, wedges and golden bracelets, earrings and a necklace. Once I was changed I applied minimal make up, only doing a winged eyeliner look, some mascara and pink lip gloss.
I then grabbed my rucksack which I'd packed the night before and headed downstairs, meeting my mum in the kitchen.
"Good morning, mum." I greeted, giving her a kiss on the cheek. She responded with the same thing.
"Are you ready for your first day of school?" She asked, sipping her coffee. I smiled nervously, preparing my breakfast.
"More like terrified." I answered.
"Don't worry about it, Chloe. Remember you have two friends that go there so they'll help!" She reassured me and I nodded.
"Thanks mum. I'll get going now." I told her, and she nodded, waving me goodbye. Once I left the house I brought out my phone and plugged in my earphones, knowing only music would calm my nerves.
I started to walk on the pathway that I'd watched my older sister Amber walk on many times when she was still in High School. It was great that I was going to the same one she'd attended.

After about ten minutes of walking I arrived. It was 8:43, so I had some time to get myself ready before school officially started, even though it was pretty crowded.
I walked through the hallways, ignoring the stares and whispers that came. I felt like I was in one of that typical teenage romance movies/book where the girl first came to a school and everyone kept on staring at her.
I looked around, hoping I would see someone I recognized so I could ask them where the Secretary's office is. But I didn't recognize anyone. I sighed, about to just guess which direction it was in when I heard a familiar voice call my name.
I turned around to see Tobi strutting towards me with a wide smile on her face. I grinned, going to meet her halfway and hugging her.
"Hey, girl!" She exclaimed, looking me up and down. "You're looking fleekly."
I laughed. "So are you."
"Well, duh." She said with a hair flick and we both giggled.
"So, I'm guessing you're looking for the Secretary's office?" She asked and I nodded. "Okay, let's go."
*****
It turned out that I had six classes with Tobi, and she claimed I had the rest with Maisie. Speaking of my favourite Asian girl, I didn't see her anywhere in the morning. Whenever I asked Tobi she would slyly change the subject or just ignore the question. I wasn't that suspicious until I saw a little raven-haired girl always weaving through the crowd as fast as possible in hallways when she spotted me.
That's when I knew she was avoiding me.
I was currently on my way to third period, Chemistry. The map the Sectary had given me wasn't that helpful, but I just followed the directions Tobi had given me. Soon I arrived at what I hoped was my class and walked inside, looking for Maisie. That's when I saw her with her back purposely turned to face me. I sighed impatiently, going to sit down in one of the empty seats. It was just my first day so I didn't want to start any arguments with anyone, I would just leave her.
A few minutes later the teacher entered. I slid down in my seat a bit, hoping he wouldn't notice me. The late bell rang and I looked up when the door slammed open and someone walked in, breathing heavily.
"Hey, sorry I'm... Wait, no I'm right on time, Sir." He said, looking at the clock. The teacher rolled his eyes.
"Just sit down, Ben." He replied. Ben frowned.
"Someone's in my seat."
"Okay... Sit down next to..." Not me, not me, don't look at me, oh damn we made eye contact. "The new student."

When this was said everyone immediately turned to stare at me. I sat up and waved cheekily at them. Ben waved back and walked over to me.
He was actually very good looking with his perfectly styled dark brown h hair, his striking brown eyes, a jaw line I could cut myself with and his tall yet muscular figure.
I was very tempted to snap a quick photo of him.
"Hey there," He greeted. I grinned at him. "I'm Benjamin, but everyone calls me Ben."
"Hi Benji, I'm Chloe." I replied, using the nickname on purpose. He let out a laugh, which was the best sound I'd heard all day.
"Benji? That's new." He chuckled and I couldn't help but giggle.
"So, where'd you come from?" He asked and that's how the conversations started. We bantered back and forth during class, getting told off but let off the hook many times by the teacher who's name I learned is Mr. Hartley. Benji was actually a pretty good guy, you would pin him as a player when you first saw him, but I just thought he was the class clown by the amount of times he set the class into laughing hysterically.
After another period it was finally lunch. I'd made some new friends in my other classes so I was pretty reassured I would see someone to sit with in the busy cafeteria.
That's when I spotted her.
I saw Maisie innocently sitting at a table by herself, looking around as if she was waiting for someone. I took the chance and ran towards her, and before she could react I sat down in front of her, slamming my tray on to the table.
This seemed to snap her out of her trance and she stared at me, wide-eyed.
"Oh, hey middle school best friend. How's it going, you ask? Um, I've met new people so that's pretty good, Tobi was there in the morning to help me get round and OH YEAH, I've been seeing you run every time you saw me." She looked away guiltily. "So, it's been good so far."
"Um, I-" She started mumbling but she saw someone behind me and stopped. She wildly gestured for them to leave and when I turned around I could only see queue for lunch.
I looked back around and glared at her, silently getting up and walking away. "Chloe, wait-" She called out but I didn't turn around.
I spotted my new friends Teresa and Maya sitting conveniently with Benji, who I was sure was my new guy best friend.
"Hi guys." I greeted as I sat down next to Maya. Teresa and Benji said hi back before launching into the serious debate they were in before. I chuckled when I realised they were talking about Captain America: Civil War. Benji was team Iron Man and Teresa was team Captain America.
I was team Iron Man, he had Vision, Black Panther and Black Widow, his team slayed.
"Have you seen Captain America? Not only is the sexiest man ever, but he doesn't require any amour to fight."
"I'm not gay, so I won't comment on Iron Man's looks, but he's a genius, with or without his armour. Whereas Steve Rodgers was made like the way he is by a machine."
Teresa sighed in frustration and they both turned to look at me. "What team are you on, Chloe?" Teresa asked.
I shrugged. "Team Iron Man, I guess."
"What? Why?!"
"Well, technically Iron Man is right because the government doesn't have bad intentions; they only want safety for the people. Plus, wasn't Captain America a soldier?" Teresa nodded. "So wouldn't he find it easy to follow orders, especially if they're for the safety of citizens?"
"BOOM!" Benji slammed his hands on the table the same time I leaned back in my seat smiling, making half the people in the cafeteria stare at us. We all laughed.
That's when I knew I'd met my new best friends.
*****
"Wait, did you just say John goes to this school?" I exclaimed incredulously at Tobi as we were leaving school. She nodded, wringing her hands together.
"Uh, yeah-"
"How does he look? Are you still friends with him? Where is he?" I fired the questions one after the other. She took a deep breath.
"Um, Chloe, there's something you should know. John has changed." She told me nervously.
"Changed? Of course he has, if he isn't 6'2 with a 6 pack I'll beat him up!" I joked but sobered up when she didn't laugh with me. Instead she'd stopped and was staring at something behind us.
I turned around and I wasn't prepared for what I saw.
Leaving the school was a big crowd of people, the popular crowd I guessed. But that wasn't what shocked me.
In the middle of them all, was a guy who looked very familiar. He had piercing blue eyes, dusty brown hair, toned skin and stood at around 6'2.
"Tobi, is that-"
"Yup."
"He's really-"
"Uh huh."
"But-"
"It's okay, Chloe."
But no, that wasn't the really shocking part.
The really shocking part was the girl who his muscular arm was around.
"MAISIE?!" I shrieked. Everyone stopped and turned to look at me.
Ha-ha. Whoops.
