《The Bad Boy OR The Best Friend》thirty three

It's the next day, and like usual, Breanna's at my place because it's saturday. She's lounging in the living room, watching some new series on Netflix while I scroll through my phone, stalking Cassandra Reed on facebook, my head in Breanna's lap.

There isn't much to look forward on Cassandra's social media, except her photographs with her husband and her kids when they were toddlers. That makes me scoff, because those photos are kind of the most posted ones while she didn't even have a clue what I looked like when I was a toddler.

"Watchyu lookin' at?" Breanna asks and I cringe.

"Whatever attempt at whatever fucking accent that was, don't do it." I say and she laughs.

"Seriously though, why the hell are you pouting?" She asks.

Was I pouting? Weird.

"Just came across something I didn't like." I shrug, still lying down on the couch, on her lap to be precise.

She gives me a bewildered look but doesn't say anything as she focuses her attention back on the tv screen but then her eyes widen and she turns to me, and I almost panic about what she's about to ask.

"Oh oh oh, how the hell do you know that Luke is a virgin?" She asks and I narrow my eyes at her.

"Is he, now?" I ask and she pinches my sides.

"Bitch, spill. How do you know my boyfriend is a virgin."

"Yeah, An, how did you? C'mon, tell us now." Evan says, coming behind the couch and I throw a cushion at him.

"Bitch." I mutter under my breath.

Jordan and Chris enter the living room and I frown at them. Where the hell did they come from? I knew Evan was getting something to eat in the kitchen, he has been here since morning.

"We come bearing nothing." Jordan yells as he jumps to sit down on my legs while I let out a loud 'oomph' because the guy is a basket ball player and is heavy as shit.

I kick his ass and he gives me a look. "What the hell are you here for?" I ask.

"Rude." Jordan says.

I turn to Chris who's looking at the whole scene with an amused smile on his face. Breanna is sitting on the couch, while my head is in her lap and now, Jordan is sitting on my legs.

"Why the hell my home, always? We need a hang out place and we need to hang out at other's place as well." I whine and Evan throws back the cushion on my face. I ignore him but set my glasses alright before turning to Jordan, "We should all go to Jordan's house." I say.

Jordan turns to me with wide eyes, "No, we should most definitely not." He says and I grin.

"Let's go." I say, now sitting up and force my legs out from under him.

As soon as I stand, Evan speaks up, "Why the hell are your hair down today?" He asks, obviously noticing and I freeze in my spot.

My eyes move to Chris who arches an eyebrow at me with a smirk, sending butterflies to my stomach because I didn't pay attention to him earlier. But he's wearing a black v neck with blue jeans, looking absolutely amazing without even trying.

Jordan coughs loudly, driving my attention to him and gives me an amused smile, "Yes, Adrianna, why are your hair down today."

The bitch knows, and that's why he's having fun. He wasn't kidding when he pointed out the hickey on my neck, because that's the first thing I checked when I came home last night. And sure as hell, there was a red mark on my neck, making my eyes widen.

No one has ever given me a hickey before, and I definitely didn't expect Chris to leave a mark, but I should have known by the way he was kissing and licking the skin on my neck. I couldn't wear any high collar top because it's summer and I would look stupid, so I left my hair down to hide the best I could.

"Because it's a fucking good hair day." I tell the both of them and Jordan smirks at me while Evan just gives me a confused look but doesn't argue.

"Let's go to Jordan's house." Breanna says and I nod.

Jordan keeps grumbling while I lock my front door as everyone else walks down the porch. When I am done, I push the keys in my jeans and turn around only to bump into Chris.

He's looking down at me, a small smirk playing on his lips as his eyes search mine. I offer him a small smile as I arch an eyebrow, "What's up?" I ask.

"Your hair looks good like this." He says, his finger picking up a layer of my hair.

"Yeah, you would think so." I scoff and he grins, leaning down to kiss me but I immediately turn my face so his lips meet my cheeks instead.

He immediately frowns at me, "What was that about?" He asks.

I give him the best innocent smile I could muster up, "Oh nothing, Jay, just that as long as I have a mark on my neck, your lips and my lips.. are going to stay away from each other."

His eyes widen as he stares at me, "The hell? Why?"

"Because you knew exactly what you were doing when you gave me a mark, so that's kind of your punishment." I shrug before I walk away, deliberately bumping my shoulder with his.

Evan and Breanna are in a conversation as I reach them but Jordan gives me a look, "Why are we going to my house again?" He asks.

"Because I've never been to your house." I shrug and he gives me a weird look.

We start walking down the street since his house is just a few houses away, maybe like seven or eight? Whatever. Evan comes behind me and keeps his hand on my shoulder as he pulls me to his side and I elbow him in the stomach.

"Fuck. You're turning violent, woman!" He curses but then sobers up, "Why didn't you come to the window last night?" He asks.

"Because I fell asleep as soon as I came home." I tell him, which is true because I was fucking tired.

"Hmm. When did you get home?"

I roll my eyes at his useless inquiry, "Around midnight."

His lips turn into a thin line as he nods, but doesn't say anything. Chris comes to walk by my side, taking his hand in mine, and I immediately get a really weird feeling because Evan's arm is still on my shoulder and now Chris is holding my hand.

I immediately let go of Chris's hand and walk out of Evan's hold as I continue to walk faster and join Breanna who gives me a strange look, probably because I look pissed. And I am! Fuck, what the hell is happening in my life?

"You okay?" She asks and I nod.

"Yup. Dandy." I give her a smile and she narrows her eyes at me. "We'll talk about it when we are alone."

She nods as she interlocks her arm with mine. "Has Cassandra contacted you after that?" She asks.

"Yeah, she has left a couple of mails asking to at least keep a little contact that way or to think about meeting up once in a while." I tell her and she nods.

"Who's Cassandra?" Jordan asks, and I keep forgetting that he doesn't know little details of everything.

"Her mother." Evan says and I turn around to look at him, but he's just staring at me with a blank expression.

Chris is walking by his side and when I look at him, he kind of looks annoyed but he's quiet, not that I expected him to say anything.

But he surprises me when he speaks up, "Man, your house went three houses back." He tells Jordan who just glares at him.

I gape at him, "Bitch, just because I didn't notice you were gonna let us walk past it?"

He narrows his eyes at me, "My parents are home, Adri!" He whines and that's when I fully understand why he doesn't want us to go.

"Even better. Jay told me Mrs. Woods makes amazing cookies." I say with a grin and almost immediately Evan's eyes light up.

"Really?"

Yup, we have been a sucker for cookies ever since we were kids.

"Oh god, you owe me shit loads of beer in return for bearing her ass!" Jordan tells Chris who just shrugs at him.

We turn around and start walking towards his house. This time he leads us to the porch and rings the doorbell and when no one comes to the door for a second, he faces us.

"Looks like no one's home and I don't have a spare key, lettsgo." He smiles and I roll my eyes.

He grumbles just when the door opens a woman in her forties stands on the other side. A huge smile immediately takes over her features as she looks at Chris.

"Hey sweetheart, how are you? You don't come to meet us anymore." She says and he steps forward to hug her.

"Sorry Kate, but your son kind of doesn't invite me anymore." Chris tells her and I try to hold in my laughter when Jordan glares at his best friend.

Kate and Chris together look at Jordan, Chris with an amused smile while Kate glares at her son, "Jordie, what am I hearing?" She says.

Well, that does it. I burst out laughing because I finally understand why he asks me to not call him Jordie, that's because his parents call him that.

Chris gives me a questioning look, and I wonder if he would be embarrassed to say that I am his girlfriend to everyone he introduces me to because let's all just agree on one thing — I am weird, and awkward, and awesome as hell. Anyway, Kate gives me a baffled look as she looks at me.

"And you would be?" She asks, not rudely, just in a little surprised tone.

"The woman who annoys me just as much as you do with that name." Jordan says, making me grin further.

"Hi Mrs. Woods, I am Adrianna, Jordie's friends." I say with a smile and she immediately returns it.

"I didn't know he had any more friends than Chris." She says, a little pleased with the fact that he has made more friends, and then she looks at Evan and Breanna.

"I'm Evan, we are on the basketball team together." Evan says and she nods.

"I'm Breanna, his friend." Breanna smiles which Kate returns.

"Okay, now that everyone has introduced themselves, can we go inside already?" Jordan groans and Kate narrows her eyes at him but doesn't say anything as she steps aside from the doorway and Jordan steps in, all of us following inside.

We enter the living room and a man in his forties wearing gold rimmed spectacles is sitting on the couch, watching a football game that's running on the big screen television. Jordan's house is a lot like mine, just his staircase are in built on the left side while the staircase in my house are on the right. Rest, it's pretty much the same.

"Hey Leo!" Chris says, and Jordan's father looks back at us, a little surprised as he takes in everyone's presence.

"Hey Chris, and hey kids." He smiles at us.

"I am sorry, but am I the only one realising the irony of Kate and Leo here?" I say out aloud the first thought that comes into my mind.

Evan snickers besides me, "Great first impression, An." He whispers and I scowl at him.

Surprisingly, Leo laughs loudly, "If only Titanic had black people, girly." He jokes and I smile at him.

"But it's a little ironic, still." I shrug. "I am Adrianna, by the way. It's nice to meet you."

He offers me his hand, "Leo. That idiot's father." He gestures to Jordan.

I immediately shake his hand while Evan and Breanna introduce themselves. Chris comes to stand by my side and I lean in a little on his body, his arm coming to wrap around my waist. His thumb starts drawling a little circle on my skin which makes me look at him, and surprisingly, he's already staring at me. The way he's looking at me suddenly sends my stomach into knots as my eyes move to his lips.

God, I am starting to regret my decision about not kissing him until I get rid of my mark. It'll go away soon though. Like in a day or two.

"You guys have a game next week?" Leo asks as all of us take a seat around the couches, Chris sitting by my side and Jordan on my other side while Evan and Breanna sit across us.

"Yeah, I was hoping that Forney would lose a game against Little Elm, but apparently we have a match with them again." Evan says, clearly agitated with the opposition and the talk about the game.

When his eyes meet mine, I offer him a small smile which he returns, but it's forced.

"Yeah, Little Elm is actually a strong team, I don't know how Forney beat their game." Leo says, clearly up to date with everything.

"Their captain, William, he has been working on some new game strategies for a while now. So, I am sure that's paying off." Chris speaks up and I frown.

"How would you know that?" I ask.

He immediately looks alarmed as he faces me, "Caitlyn's cousin was dating him or something, so.. and they are both cheerleaders so they talked and stuff like that." He says, and I nod, my mood falling off at the reminder of Caitlyn.

I am glad she hasn't noticed that Chris and I are kind of dating now, because I am sure that as soon as she does, she'll be on my case. Nope, not ours, mine, alone. Because she's a bitch like that.

Chris's hand slides into mine and he gives it a little squeeze, and I know he's trying to comfort me so I give him a little smile. However, we fail to notice that Kate's in the living room now and our joined hands don't go missing by her.

"Chris, what am I seeing?" She looks at him and I am about to pull my hand away when he tighten his hold on it, making me flush red because everyone's looking at us now.

"Uh.. yeah. She's my girlfriend." Chris says and Kate smiles at the two of us.

"That's wonderful, honey." She tells Chris who just nods in return.

I look over at Evan and he's not even looking at me but his face is blank. I already told him and Breanna that Chris and I are officially going out, and he took it better than I thought, mostly because I think he saw it coming.

"Got cookies for you guys." Kate keeps a tray filled with cookies in front of us but Jordan sighs loudly.

"Thanks, Mum. We'll take it up to my room, come on guys." He says, standing up and I don't question him why can't we stay downstairs with his parents who are such sweet people.

Jordan and Evan are walking in front while Chris is in the middle with Breanna and I at the last. She's texting on her phone, and I am pretty sure it's Luke.

"Bitch, you'll fall down the stairs. Stop texting." I tell her but only get an eye roll in return.

Jordan opens his bedroom door and everyone just stands at the doorway, taking in the scene in front of us. Chris is kind of tall, so I push him back to get a better view.

Evan's the first one to break the silence, "Sawyer?"

Sawyer, who I assume just took a shower has a towel wrapped around his waist with water dripping his hair. He turns to the door with widened eyes and a pale face, completely shocked.

"Evan?" He gasps.

"Sawyer?" Jordan says and I roll my eyes.

"Evan already said that." I say and everyone just glares at me so I look down on the floor but that's when the realisation hits me.

Evan doesn't know that Sawyer and Jordan are dating. It's like Chris and I realise it at the same time because we both speak up together, "Shit."
