《The Bad Boy OR The Best Friend》twenty four

When we got back from the lake on Saturday, I was tired as hell so I spent the whole Sunday in my bed, thinking about taking a decision regarding Cassandra, and finally decided that I need to meet her. I deserve at least some form of closure in my life.

I told my dad about this who just kissed me on the forehead and said I should do it. Evan said the same thing, and Breanna told me that if it's for the best, I should go for it. Chris, however, after listening to the whole drama of Cassandra asked me to reconsider. But, I kind of understand where he is coming from.

Evan and Breanna had four years to cool off after I told them everything, and with Chris, he just got to know so recently. Plus, he's someone who holds grudges so he's not thinking like I am.

"Someone's birthday this friday." Breanna teases as soon as I reach the lunch table on Tuesday.

I arch an eyebrow, "Really?"

She pouts, "Be a little more excited, Adri. You are putting us all down."

"Don't pout, it doesn't suit you." I point out.

"Alright lady, what do you want for your birthday?" Jordan asks, he's sitting beside me.

I still ain't sitting by Chris's side, but I have sure moved across him. So, I think that's better. He's texting on his phone while Evan and Rose are yet to come to the table.

"Get me the latest model of iPhone and MacBook." I grin at Jordan who just glares at me.

"A gift that I can afford without selling myself." He retorts.

"Don't ask the questions you don't want answers to." I tell him before eating the burger I just got.

"She's a party pooper." Luke comments and I glare at him, still chewing on my burger.

"You're a virgin." I shoot back and Breanna chokes on her food before turning red and then turning to Luke with a raised eyebrow. Well, hell, shit.. I didn't mean to say that aloud as an insult. Because it's not. It's just, birthdays are a touchy topic for me, and his comment just got to me. I immediately feel bad and try to cover it up, "Not that I know of it." I shrug.

"Well, so are you." Evan says from behind me before sitting beside Jordan and Rose sits next to him.

"How would you know that smartypants?" I ask him, a smirk playing on my lips.

His smile wavers for a second before his eyes widen, "You are, aren't you?" He asks, panicked.

I laugh, "Sure Ev, if that's what helps you sleep at night."

"Oh shit, who tainted our innocent best friend." Breanna shares a look with Evan and everyone's just staring at me now.

Chris looks amused as he studies my face and I glare at him. What the hell is so funny to him? I give him a challenging look which makes him laugh before he winks at me.

"An, focus. Virgin or not?" Evan asks.

"Rose, are you virgin?" I retort, questioning his girlfriend instead.

Rose coughs, looking awkward and I smile at Evan who glares at me, "What?" He snaps.

"Like I just told Jordie boy here, don't ask questions you don't need answers to." I give out an innocent smile.

"Okay seriously though, who was it?" Jordan asks, obviously interested. Sex and Jordan? That's like talking about best friends. Sometimes I feel bad for the poor guy's boyfriend.

Wait a second, do dicks get sore like vaginas do? Gross, I have a really weird mind.

"My lips are sealed, Jordie. And even if they are not, it's because I want to consume food." I shrug.

"Alright, this is hella annoying. We started from her birthday." Chris says, finally!

At times the guy goes throughout the whole lunch break without uttering a word, but when he does speak, everyone's attention is on him. He has that kind of effect on people.

"We are not gifting anything to Adrianna on her birthday. No parties. No gifts. No surprises. Nada." I declare, waiting for everyone to agree with me, but just receive deadly looks in return which make me pout, "Oh for fuck's sake, it's my birthday. Leave me the fuck alone."

"Sorry babe, not happening." Jordan smirks and I narrow my eyes at him.

"You wanna fight me? Let's fight." I roll the sleeves of my full sleeves t-shirt upwards, causing everyone to laugh.

"I can take you down in one punch."

"Jordie boy, you love this face too much to punch at it." I smirk.

He gives me a smug look, "I can sucker punch you in the stomach."

"And the lose the chance to become a godfather? You're too caring to do that." I pat his hair like he's a baby and he opens his mouth to argue but Evan speaks up before him.

"Excuse me? I have dibs on being godfather." He sounds so offended that it's almost adorable.

"And I have dibs on being the godmother." Breanna adds.

"Look at you children fighting." I smirk causing Chris to laugh, "I am not even pregnant yet."

"Yes, and for that you have to have sex. So have you, had any?" Luke asks, and I glare at him. He has that sinister smile on his face which is making me want to punch him.

"I plan on having at least three kids, you'll get your chances. Don't worry about it." I shrug, avoiding his question.

"Well.. can we discuss your birthday now?" Chris asks and I nod.

"See, I don't like birthdays. Just get me a jelly cake or something and you'll make me the happiest girl." I tell him and he smiles at me.

"Nothing more than that?"

"No parties. Evan has to leave early the next morning anyway."

Rose frowns, "Where are you going?" She asks.

"Remember the trip I told you I am taking with my brother and everyone else?" Evan asks and she nods.

"I didn't know it was this weekend. I thought we had plans." She pouts like a baby and I try to my best to hold in my scoff.

Evan gets to see Sawyer a lot, I know that because he's here every three weeks but still, he doesn't go out of town as much. Especially with both Paul and Sawyer, so he's really excited to go away this weekend. And the girl has to pout and object even in this.

"How about next weekend?" He asks, hopeful.

"Sure." She sulks, and I look away, biting my tongue to refrain myself from saying anything.

"I know what I am getting you." Jordan smirks, rubbing his palms together in excitement.

"You're not getting me sexy lingerie, Jordie. We talked about this." I point out and he pouts.

"But—"

"Not happening!" I glare at him.

This one time, Jordan was at my home, and while I was busy doing assignments, he took the liberty to explore through every aspect of my bedroom. And somehow, he ended up in my underwear drawer. I would have been embarrassed as hell if it would have been some other guy, but come on, it's Jordan!

He then sat me down for straight fifteen minutes and told me that having sexy lingerie would help me boost my self confidence. I assured him that I wasn't aiming to strip anytime soon, so what people couldn't see, didn't bother them. But nooo! Jordan insisted that I should buy lacy underwear and shit like thongs and if I didn't, he'll gift me two pairs.

That boy is nuts.

"You have a free period after this?" I ask Chris who nods as does Jordan. "Alright then, you're going to be my source of entertainment." I tell the two of them.

After lunch, everyone goes their separate ways but Chris, Jordan and I leave for the playground bleachers. The memory of me trying to smoke comes up in my mind and I smile a little. That feels so long ago. But it's easily refreshened when we take a seat and Chris pulls out a cigarette.

"That thing actually kills, you know?" I point out and he shrugs before putting it between his lips.

"Been telling him that for two years now." Jordan says, sitting besides me.

I sigh, looking ahead at the green grass before turning to Jordan, "Would you mind if I ask you a personal question?" I ask him, and he's about to say something sarcastic when he sees the look on my face and nods.

"Go ahead."

"If you're gay, how did you get the reputation of a player?" I ask.

He sighs, running a hand through his hair before pinching his nose. I'm about to tell him that he doesn't have to share before he starts speaking, "At first, it was about exploring my sexuality. I was so fucking confused about everything, whether I liked girls or not. Because every guy is supposed to like a girl, right? We aren't told otherwise, especially when you have parents like I do. But then, I knew something didn't fit. You don't have to be in love with a girl to feel something while you're being physical but it was just a numb feeling, every fucking time!"

I take ahold of his hand and he gives me a small smile before he continues, "My parents aren't homophobes, but I didn't know how they would react if I were gay, you know? So I started lying to myself and every time I slept with a girl, I told myself, 'See Jordan? You're not gay. You just had sex with a girl.' But somewhere deep, I knew I was lying to myself. It was messing with my head, Adri. Like really messing with my head! So, I started sleeping around more and hence the tag." He shrugs and I frown.

"But, like, how did you know for certain?" I question out of curiosity.

"I kissed a guy." He smiles, but it's almost an amused smile and I give him a questioning look.

"Not gonna ask who it was." I mumble to myself.

"He's sitting right by your side." He smirks and I frown.

"Please tell me you didn't attempt to kiss yourself in the mirror." I give him a weird look and he laughs, actually laughs out loud.

"No, it was Chris." He laughs.

My eyes widen as I turn to stare at Chris who just shoots Jordan a glare and then looks at me. "What?" He snaps, but I am still too much in shock to reply.

"You're gay?" I ask, still trying to wrap my head around it.

"Who do you think is my boyfriend?" Jordan asks, wiggling his eyebrows and I gasp.

Oh, hell no! Please tell me life is playing some sick joke on me. My lips are still parted as I stare between the two of them.

"Is that why you punched him when he kissed me?" I ask Chris who smirks at me. "Shit, seriously?"

Jordan starts laughing so loudly that I scowl at him and that's when it registers. The guy is shitting me, and I walked right into it. I start hitting his arm while he continues to laugh.

"Not cool, Jordan! Not fucking cool." I pout and he scoots closer, wrapping himself around me but I push him off.

"Okay, he's not my boyfriend, and he's not gay. But he was the first guy I kissed." He sobers up and I give him a confused look.

"I don't understand."

Chris speaks up so I turn to face him, "He was confused about his sexuality and when he told me, I just kissed him to help him figure it out." He shrugs and a smile takes over my features.

Because shit, it was honestly a kind thing to do. He was helping out his best friend by letting him kiss even though he's not into guys.

"Don't give me that adorable smile." Chris says and I laugh.

"You just complimented me while trying to snap at me." I point out and he grumbles and goes back to smoking.

I turn to Jordan, "So, what happened after that?" I ask.

"First of all, that was the worst kiss of my entire life. Worse than kissing a girl." Jordan barfs, making me laugh, "Then, I met this guy. He helped me figure out a lot of things." He says with a smile on his face and I study his face.

"Your boyfriend, I assume?" I ask and he nods.

"Yup. I stopped sleeping around after that. I wasn't so conflicted anymore." He shrugs. "But honestly, I kind of owe a lot to him. I would have been a really bad person if it weren't for him."

"You love him, don't you?" I ask and his eyes snap to me.

There's a surprised look on his face but then a slow smile takes over his features, "Yeah. I guess?" He gives out a nervous laugh. "He doesn't know though. It's kind of a long distance thing. He's in college."

I nod, "Is it difficult?"

"Not really. Skype helps." He shrugs.

"The guy is whipped for him. There's too much pride in their relationship for one of them to say it first." Chris speaks up and I stare at him.

"Hey, is that where you were, with him? The night he got shitfaced?" I ask Jordan who snickers but nods nonetheless.

"Don't bring that up." Chris groans.

"Why the hell not? You were wasted, Jay. That was the first time you were nice to me, and you sang On The Floor and did the dance moves in the backseat." I grin and his eyes widen, giving me a horrified look.

"You never told me about that."

"You never asked." I give out an amused smile.

"Still, it was a shitty night. Caitlyn and I fought over you! And then she slapped me during a heated argument." He rubs his palms on his face and I gape at him.

"You guys fought over me?" I ask.

He bites his tongue, "Shit. No."

"Yes. Spill. Now." I glare at him.

"Okay, so remember how I approached you during the party?" He asks and I shake my head yes, "So, I was just trying to get on your nerves but she thought I was flirting with you. It started with a normal argument then both of us said a lot of shitty stuff, which ended with her slapping me across the face, which led me to getting wasted."

I try to wrap my head around his words and then make a sense out of them, "So you got wasted because she slapped you?"

He nods, "Yup."

"Doesn't make any sense."

"It brought back a lot of dark memories."
