My Boyfriend's Best Friend Chapter 1
Advertisement
Prologue:
Who would've thought my life changed all because of one simple decision.
Not a decision made by me, but a decision made by my boyfriend.
Who would've thought something that is meant to be good can be something that is meant to be bad.
--
"Carson! Let's go! We're going to be late for our second period class." I said, tickling Carson's sides.
Carson hesitantly got up from the lunch table and dragged his feet on the floor.
"Don't you think they need to lengthen lunch period?" He groaned.
"No. I never thought that way. Why?"
"Because I want to spend more time with you." He pouted.
He looks so cute when pouting.
We're walking side by side on our way to the classroom and all the girls stared at me with jealousy.
I have to say, I am very proud Carson is my boyfriend.
He is kind, nice, gentle, respectful, popular, athletic, intelligent, also very handsome.
He is the perfect guy and any girl would want to be his girlfriend.
I'm so lucky.
I knew myself he is the one from the very beginning.
I've been crushing on him since middle school and we became friends.
If I could make a story of the both of us then I would call it, "It Started With A Pencil" because when I dropped my mechanical pencil, and I was bending forward to get it, he was also going to pick it up and our hands touched.
Who knew he feels the same way?
After his confession to me, we started dating.
We've been dating for already a year, three months, eighteen hours and two seconds.
Yes, I am aware of it because how can I miss the happiest happening in my entire life?
That's why I remember every single detail and I am not planning on forgetting it either.
I also know that he is the ONE.
That he is going to be my husband in the future.
My whole future with him and having three kids has been all planned in my mind.
I know he is not going to leave me, and I know I am not going to leave him.
I am very sure that we will be together forever.
"You are so cute! You've been seeing my face all the time at home." I replied.
"That's not enough." He pouted again.

He is so cute when he pouts, I smiled at him.
Yup, you've heard right, he is living with me.
It's a good thing his parents allowed him to.
After my parents died, he was the one comforting me and being there for me.
Living with him is very fun. :)
"Hey Carson--"
*Ring!!*
He took out his cellphone and smiled at me.
"Hold on a sec."
I simply nodded my head and smiled at him.
"Hello? Mom?"
I can see his face change expressions and he keeps saying "I got it" all the time.
"I got it. Okay.."
He shut his phone and a frown plastered his handsome face.
I rubbed his back tenderly and asked,
"What's the matter?"
"It's my mom.."
"Why? Is there something wrong?"
I can see him sort of tearing up and I hugged him.
"My grandmother back in Texas.. she is sick.. and it's already severe.. my mom told me we need to go and visit her.."
I can feel the awful pain in my chest.
That means he is going to go, right?
But it's for his family.
I can't stop him..
"So when will you go..?"
"Tonight.."
I gulped down the awful lump stuck on my throat and tried to smile.
"When will you come back..?"
"I don't know.. maybe in two months.."
I was sad.
That's the truth.
Because I won't be seeing him for more or less sixty days..
"I see.. I will miss you.."
"Me too."
I smiled at him and both of us went in our classrooms.
Being far apart with each other..
It never was in my dictionary.
And I never thought about us, being far from each other.
--
*Bring!!*
That's our school bell.
Class is dismissed and I'm not acting myself.
Of course, I love him and he is leaving.
I shoved my homework and papers inside my satchel.
It's red colored, with white stars design.
I love stars, and I love red.
Carson walked towards me, his face is still all depressed and I can't help but to cry.
He hugged me tight and I cried on his shoulder.
I'm going to miss this shoulder.
He wiped my tears and kissed me on the forehead.
I got in his car, both of us not feeling ourselves and he drove me to my house.

We reached my house and he packed his things.
I watched as he packed all his clothes and I'm tearing up again.
This house is going to be peaceful for a while.
"That's the last bag." He sighed.
I glanced at him and to the bags then came running to hug him.
He hugged me tight and I saw him tearing up as well.
"Come back, okay? You know where to find me.. in this house.. I'll wait for you here.." I said softly.
"I will. I will come back so please wait for me."
After that, he took his stuff away and he drove off.
I watched him as his car went more distant each second.
Maybe that's the reason why they say treasure life, because you won't know what the next turn will be.
And you've guessed it, in the blink of an eye, he is leaving and he is gone.
I went back inside the house and my knees felt wobbly, then my knees hit the cold, uninviting floor that was once filled with warmth and happiness.
Then I cried.
I cried so hard my eyes felt like it's going to fall off.
I cried once more when my cellphone rang.
*Ring!*
I wiped the tears from my eyes as I read Carson's message.
To: Babe ♥
Message: I'll be off to the airport now. I am going to miss you:( Please wait for me. :) I love you! I'll be back real soon. Don't skip meals, okay? Stay healthy. Don't cry, I don't want to see you crying.
From: Babe ♥
Message: I love you too! I will always pray for you grandmother. And you know I will wait for you.:( Please come back. Take care of your health, okay? I'll miss you too..
I smiled then shut my phone and held it close to my chest.
I'm still crying and I slapped my forehead with my palm.
"Stop crying! He is not going to die, okay?! He is just leaving! But he'll come back for you and you know that!"
I said, shouting at myself.
I stood up from my feet and sighed.
This house used to be so cheerful and warm, but now it seems as if it's cold and abandoned.
I was going to go upstairs when someone rang the doorbell.
*Ding Dong!*
I dragged my feet to the door and opened it.
My eyes widened as I saw Darren Christopher infront of my doorstep, holding suitcases and a few bags with him.
"W.. What brings you here?" I asked curiously.
"Carson asked me to stay with you for a while and take care of you while he is gone. He can't leave you alone here."
"He is so sweet, isn't he? He is the best boyfriend a girl could ever have." I said, blushing.
I saw him sort of glare at me and his face turned sour but maybe it's just me.
I let him in and smiled.
"You know, I've heard loads of stories from Carson about you. You must be his best friend. He said you're so nice and--"
"Can you please shut up? You're too noisy." He interrupted.
I stood there, staring at him blankly.
I thought he is nice..?
Maybe I just caught him in a bad mood..
He tossed his shoes to the floor, flopping on the couch and turning on the television.
I took his shoes and placed them on our shoe rack.
"Hey ugly, could you take my things to my room and arrange it?" He suddenly said.
Ugly??!
He calls me ugly?
I admit, I am not pretty but this is my house and he atleast needs to treat me with respect.
"Excuse me?"
"Didn't you hear me? Take my things upstairs to my room! God, you're already seventeen and you need to be taken care of?! I don't know what is wrong with that Carson guy. Sheesh." He replied rudely.
What.
Is.
This.
Guy..

The Sun's Remnant
Two people are transported to a world with magic, but it is no Wonderland. When the god of light died, he decided to take the world with him. At least, that’s what many believe in the Kingdom of Rhine, a once vast kingdom of which only a small corner remains — and even that is threatened. On one side, by the Twisted Forest, a corruption spreading from the deathplace of the gods that has already swallowed up most of Rhine. On the other, by the resurgent Kagrathan Empire, resurrected by the infallible God-Emperor Karlatz. A holy order of knights carry out their mission despite the death of their god. A band of talented misfits prepare for a heist out of their league — by stealing. Mages hunt for secrets even as the world ends. A ruler does what must be done to save the living, no matter the cost. Into this world of magic and murder, two adrift souls are inexplicably dragged: a mother estranged from her young daughter due to her own mistakes, and a young man with a love of fantasy who has gradually drifted away from his friends and family. As they each struggle to find their place in this world, they must also answer the question: do they want one?***Content Warning: I've drafted about 100,000 words (most of the first volume), and there is no sexual content so far, though I may add it in the future. There is occasionally gore and traumatising content as the story demands. I commit to keeping all of the above non-voyeuristic. [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]

A Fate Shaped by Magick
This fiction was (and is) published on fanfiction dot net under the same title; though as I slowly transfer it to here, I am editing and smoothing it. This story takes place in the Elder Scrolls (TES) Universe mostly ending up in Morrowind. This is a slice of life meant to answer the questions of how (in the TES universe) do mages study and learn, and exploring some of the in-game differences between TES 2 and 3. This book has minimal spoilers for the Morrowind main quest and does not fully explore it. If you think that giant insects would make cool pets - if you like the idea of exploring magic NOT intended simply as killing something better, faster or more gore-ridden, then come on in and enjoy.

He's alive, and the world in which he finds himself seems remarkably familiar.Soon, however, he begins to realise how strange this world really is, how tangible is the evil that crawls across the shattered landscape. But strangest of all, everyone he meets seems to have been expecting him. How do they know who he is, and just what have they been waiting for him to do?Alan Porter weaves a deceptively simple story of one man's courage in the face of overwhelming odds. Yet Firestorm is also a fiendishly complex puzzle, where time twists in on itself and nothing is ever quite what it seems.*Firestorm: Descent is also available in paperback or Kindle formats from Amazon.
