《Best friend VS Boyfriend》I thought nothing could ever break us.

"Cheese!" Gemma smiles, bit tipsy holding her phone in her hand. Harry pulls Louis closer to him so the three of them fit on the small screen.
"That's such a cute picture!" Gemma coos. "My hair looks amazing." She takes the last sip of her wine and puts down the glass. "Tonight was really nice boys but I'm tired, got a jetlag. I'm going to bed." She stands up and walks over to Harry to give him a kiss on the cheek. "Good night, bro." then she walks over to Louis and pulls him in a close hug, whispering in his ear.
"Thanks for tonight, and I don't talk just for me. It means more to Harry than you think." Before Louis can react, Gemma waves one more time and goes upstairs.
An awkward silence is between Louis and Harry now and Louis breaks it by scraping his throat.
"I'll help you clean up." He says pointing at the small table that's still covered with appetizers and an empty bottle of wine.
"You don't need to." Harry shakes his head. "Really, you helped me enough already. I even almost bought what you said about wanting to be there for me."
"I meant it." Louis breathes out, looking for Harry's eyes.
"What?"
"It wasn't an act. I mean it. I would actually really like to talk about it if that's okay for you."
Harry immediately drops the empty glasses in his hand and puts them on the table again, nodding eagerly. "Of course, of course I want to talk. Do you want something else to drink?"
"I'm good, H." Louis smiles softly. Harry is stressing out and it warms Louis' heart. "Let's sit down again, yeah?"
"Yeah, yeah that's okay." They both sit down again and Harry nervously bites his lip. Louis wants to talk to him, he finally wants to talk to him again and Harry has been waiting for that since the day of the break up with Taylor.

"I want to say sorry." Louis says. "I have been acting very childish towards you. It was just... I was hurt, H. I saw Taylor completely breaking down and I- I was so angry at you because I felt like- You didn't only break up with Taylor, it felt like it was a way you got rid of me as well. I needed you so much and then you just, you disappeared Harry. I missed you, I saw my best friend breaking over my other best friend and I was lost."
"I never meant to hurt Taylor." Harry says. "But something I didn't want at all was pushing you away. You are the only one that treats me like I'm a normal guy. All my friends here just want me for my money, my name, because I won a bloody Grammy. With you I can be myself, Louis and I know you can too. I miss you, Louis and hearing you talk so badly about me hurts and I want to get angry about it but I can't because I would react the same. It's just- I thought nothing could ever break us."
"I thought the same..." Louis whispers. "And I have been thinking a lot about this, since I have seen you again on the party... I'm done lying to myself, to Taylor and to other people because I care about you Harry, very much and I'm done pretending I don't anymore. You are the person I'm missing the most in my life, it has been harder to get over the end of our friendship than getting over my relationship with Aiden. There was just a time- We spent every single second together, even when Taylor was touring you were there. You didn't accept me as Taylor's friend, you accepted me because you wanted to accept me. Since I have come out, it has been hard for me to trust people because they judged me but you didn't, you never did."

"Lou..." Harry whispers. "I would do anything to have us like that again..."
"Me too- I miss you but I'm going to be honest, Harry. I hate your girlfriend."
Harry chuckles a little bit and stares at Louis fondly.
"Yeah, I figured." He says. "But please don't let her come in between us, not again." Harry basically begs and it tugs on Louis' heart.
Louis shakes his head and scoots a bit closer to Harry, resting his head on his shoulder.
"Fuck H, I'm done fighting with you for nothing."
"Me too, stay tonight? There's another guestroom and..."
"Yeah, yeah I'll stay."
--
The next morning Louis wakes up from the smell of food. Louis loves food, needs food, craves food. He walks downstairs in a shirt of Harry and a pair of shorts he borrowed from him.
"Morning." Louis yawns, hair everywhere.
"It's one o'clock, Lou." Harry laughs. "I was about to wake you up for food. I made you pancakes."
"Thanks." Louis smiles. "You're an angel. Where's Gemma?"
"Oh wow, already more interested in my sister on our first day back as friends, I'm hurt Tomlinson." Harry jokes.
"I'm glad you noticed." Louis says putting a piece of pancake in his mouth. "It would have been an awkward conversation if you didn't."
"See you haven't changed a bit you sass ball."
"You love me."
"And I hate that I do." Harry laughs, taking place in front of Louis. "Gemma is meeting up with a friend. You'll have to be happy with just me."
"At least you can make pancakes."
"Jesus, Louis always so sweet and complimenting."
"Especially in the morning." Louis sticks out his tongue and it makes Harry smile. Louis is cute, unusual fucking cute.
"Hey, can I use your charger? My phone has been dead since last night, didn't plan to stay here." Louis asks. "Sure, let me get you my powerbank." Harry stands up and a minute later he hands it over to Louis. Louis puts his phone in the charger and immediately a bunch of texts pop up.
Lou, can we talk? I'm done fighting with you.
Don't ignore me please x
Louis, are you okay? I'm worried.
I'm sorry that I overreacted. You are my best friend and I love you.
Oh wow, seriously? I check Instagram and the first thing I see is your fucking face on Gemma's profile together with Harry.
I get it, ignoring me and spending time with him, thanks "best friend".
You could have told me at least, you traitor.
And Louis is not sure how to feel. He wants to be upset but then he looks at the guy in front of him, Nutella covering his face and it melts Louis' heart. He has missed Harry, has missed him criminally much.
Harry and I are friends again, I hope you understand. I love you Tay and if you want to talk about it, I'll come over in the afternoon to explain x
