《my best friends boyfriend》𝐡𝐨𝐭 𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞

all i could think about was our kiss. call me a loser but i haven't been kissed like that since my ex and that was months ago. several months ago to be exact. my mind was all over the place. was he flirting with me? bitch he was definitely flirting with you... he kissed you twice!
was it rude to pull my hand away? this was just new to me. i haven't had this much interaction with a guy in a while.
"bye bri." my brother waves as he walks off like he always does. i wave back then i continue to walk towards my locker but something is off. parker was at my locker with my friends. i get nervous and rush over there. "hey guys... parker."
"hey, parker was looking for you but he found us instead." riley says without taking her eyes off him. "here i am." i laugh nervously. i feel him staring but i don't look at him. i can't. not with riley around. "can i talk to you?" parker asks and i'm forced to look at him.
"sure." i say and we walk away from my friends. "can we hang out again? i swear no kissing this time." he smiles. "kissing? what are you talking about?" i stick with the plan to forget about the kiss. "right. never mind."
"what do you want to do?" i readjust my backpack. "do you just want to go on a walk?" a walk? he's not like what i thought he would be.
"a walk? you must really like my company to want to hang out three days in a row." i say seriously. "i do actually. i'll meet you after school?" parker runs his hand through his hair. he left it curly. "meet me at my house? i need to get a few things first." i explain. "sure." he nods. now it's just us staring at each other.

how does he look so good on a regular basis? "i'll see you bri." he walks away. he makes it so hard to not be attracted to him.
oh parker grey. i'm left smiling like an idiot. another day hanging out with him, i'm staring to like this routine.
"uh hello? earth to bri!" riley waves her hand in my face. i didn't even notice they were in front of me. "yeah?" i blink a couple times. "what was that about?" she says almost looking... jealous. "what?" i act stupid, something i'm very good at.
"you and parker. what were you guys talking about?" the tone in rileys voice almost makes me glad. i'm a horrible best friend. "nosey much? he had a question about anatomy, that's all." i lie.
natalie can tell. "anyways, i really need a girls night but my mom is making my dad and i have dinner together." riley rolls her eyes. i somewhat get irritated. don't say anything. don't say anything.
"you know you should appreciate the fact that he's trying. i haven't seen my dad in months. i would do anything to have dinner with him right now." i say and with that i walk away annoyed. "shit, i'm sorry i forgot. come back." i hear her say but i don't listen.
over the summer, rileys dad came back into her life. he left elizabeth when riley was four years old. i understand that riley has a grudge or whatever but i think she should give him a chance. most dads never come back.

"so this is what you had to get?" parker says with a smile. "aren't you glad i made us hot chocolate?" i hand him a mug. "i am, thanks." he takes it and our hands touch. i take it away and i fake cough. why am i so weird? younger me would've went crazy just by being in his presence and now older me is getting weird when i touch his hand?

i've got to grow up.
"i'm going to get a different jacket then i'll be right down." i smile before running upstairs. i walk into my room and i spray some perfume on. i put on my black peacoat and close my door. i get ready to walk back downstairs until i hear something. a laugh but not just any laugh. natalies laugh.
i turn around and i go into my brothers room. i gasp at what i see. no fucking way. "what the hell!" i say automatically. my brother and my best friend were making out. "shit!" natalie jumps off of him. "haha i knew it!" i quickly close the door and i run downstairs.
"give me a second parker." i put my mug on the counter. "you did not see that! i wasn't here at all." natalie runs downstairs. "no i totally didn't see you making out with my brother." i say trying not to laugh in her face.
"shut up. hey parker," she waves. i look back to see him in the kitchen. "wait." she looks at him again then slaps my shoulder. "bye we're talking about this later." i start walking away.
"ugh fine." she crosses her arms. we laugh and then i remember parker is just standing there in the kitchen. "let's go." i take a sip of my hot chocolate. "i have no idea what's going on." he follows me.
we leave my house and start walking. "i walked in on noah and natalie kissing." i say like it was the most horrible thing in the world. technically it is. "is that bad?" he asks. "they're so cute together. she can do better though, noah is pretty lame." i look at him.
he lets out a small laugh. "let's talk about something else." he sips his drink. "please."

The Forgotten Hero
Long ago, in the world of Thyne, the Alliance of the Free Races, a name they had given themselves, summoned a hundred humans from another dimension. Praised as heroes by the people, they rejoiced that they had been able to acquire pure, mana deficient humans that wanted to aid them in their time of need, ignoring the black, archaic slave collars around their necks or the depressed, almost hate-filled expressions that they received when interacting with them. After Ten years of bloody war, the dark races were pushed back deep into their territories. Both sides were near breaking point and desperate to end the war once and for all. In a bargain, the twelve surviving heroes launched a high-risk mission, utilising advanced tactics from their home world to kill the Demon Lord. In exchange, they would be sent home, along with the magically preserved corpses of their comrades, though in truth, they knew that even if they returned, they would never be the same. Legends say that, upon ambushing the Demon Lord in his castle, they finally understood the plight of the world, and in the last act of heroism, sacrificed their lives, sealing him in an eternal prison so his essence would not be able to create another. With the loss of the Demon Lord, and no chance for another to be born, the dark races quickly surrendered and the free races celebrated, honouring the noble sacrifice of the heroes before quickly forgetting about them as they returned to their everyday lives. However, legends are rarely truthful, embellished by the victors in order to earn praise as well as hide the less desirable aspects of their deeds. Trapped in the Demon Lord's throne room inside the Demonic Palace, which even taking a single step on its desecrated grounds is punished by death, two figures remain motionless. They had long run out of insults and threats to trade and now they waited. For what, not even the Gods knew.
