《Battle Scars|✔️》The School

I messed up.
I've been trying to do the buttons on this stupid uniform for the last 10 minutes and so far no luck. "C'mon." I mumbled to myself looking in the mirror. A knock on my door took my attention away from the evil shirt. "Thea you almost ready?" Drew called from the other side.
I sighed "I need help." I was embarrassed about my lack of independence. Drew opened the door and saw my predicament making his chuckle. "Never done buttons before?" I shook my head and he smirked. He began fixing my clothes "Drew?" my voice sounded almost as nervous as I feel. "Yeah Thee?" I looked up at my brother with wide eyes.
"W-what if no one at school likes me?" I asked quietly.Drew sighed and knelt down in front of me, grabbing hold of my shoulders "Thea, you're gonna be fine kiddo. I promise."
I nodded still slightly unconvinced. "Just tell 'em you're my little sister and they'll coming running after you." He said with a characteristic smirk. I smiled and wrapped my arms around his neck. "Lets go we got a school to attend." He said lifting me up.
After we ate a quick breakfast me, Drew, and the twins climb into Drew's car. "Hey Thea if you have the same lunch as we do you can come sit with us." Greyson said from the front seat. Beau and Drew nodded in agreement
"If you need anything you can go to the office and have them call us." Beau added. He grabbed my hand and I smiled at him. We pulled up to a huge building and I thought my heart was gonna beat out of my chest. Greyson put an arm around my shoulders giving me a gentle squeeze
"I'll take you to your classroom." We enter the building and Grey steered me down a colorful hallway. "This is the elementary wing. Don't go into the middle or high school wing cause those kids aren't very nice."
I could tell this wing was for younger kids cause of the flowers and animal painted all over the place. I would be lying if I said it didn't brighten up my mood. We reached a room labeled Mrs.Winters 4th Grade and Grey opened the door
"Greyson! How can I help you?" An older woman asks with a sweet smile
"Hi Mrs.Winters, this is my little sister Thea. She's your new student." Mrs.Winters looks down at my and I kind of hide behind Greyson. "Hi Thea! Welcome to 4th grade!" He cheery tone made her seem friendly but looks can be deceiving.

A ball rang from somewhere in the building and Greyson bent down to my level. "I gotta go. I had Mrs.Winters when I was in 4th grade and I promise she's super nice." I nod and he pulls me into a hug
"You're gonna be fine kiddo." He whispered in my ear before standing up and leaving the room. Mrs.Winters turns to me
"So we do math and ELA in the morning then at 12:00 we go to lunch and recess then after that we do Social Studies and Science and 10 minutes of free time at the end of the day." She explained
"Thea you can go sit with Abbey and Collin." Mrs.Winters points to a table with a red headed girl and a blonde boy. I nod wordlessly and take my seat
"Hi! I'm Abbey!" The redhead says gleefully. "I'm Thea." My voice was so quiet I doubt they even heard me. "Abbey chill out you're practically bouncing." the boy chided. Abbey crossed her arms over her chest in a show of defiance. "It's not my fault I'm peppy." She said with a pout.
The boy rolled his eyes and looked over at me "I'm Collin." I gave him a small smile "Hi Collin."
Mrs.White cleared her throat making us all look up at her "Alright kids, I want to introduce our new student Thea!"Everyone looked at me and I swear I thought I would die from embarrassment. "Thea why don't you tell us something about yourself?"
The stares where unbearable. They were all just sitting there waiting for me to talk but I just looked around nervously. Collin saw the panic on my face. "Mrs.Winters I don't think she wants to." He speaks for me. I swallow the lump in my throat
"Is that true Thea?"The teacher questions.I nod quickly. "Well alright then."
I send Collin a grateful smile and he shrugs. "It's what friends do." He whispers. My heart leaps at the word friend.Could I really have real friends here?
For the rest of the morning I listened to the lessons while simultaneously chatting with Abbey and Collin.
Abbey is energetic but very nice while Collin is more laid back but also very kind. Turns out that they've been friends since they were babies and said they wanted me to be the third Musketeer (Whatever that means).
At 12:00 the bell rings and all the kids bolt from their seats "What's happening?" I ask Abbey as we followed them "Lunch silly!" She giggled. I giggle and we join Collin in the lunchroom

"I'm gonna go check in with my brothers." I tell my new friends"Who are your brothers?" Collin asked taking a bite of his sandwich
"Um Greyson, Beau and Drew." Both of them stop eating and look at me
"Greyson Beau and Drew Mason?" I nod"Dude your brothers are like the most popular guys in school." Collin tells me with wide eyes.I scrunch up my nose "Really?" Abbey nods "Drew and Beau and star football players and Greyson is a start swimmer."
my eyes widen "Oh I didn't know..." I mutter. They both shrug and I get up and head over to where I saw the boys go sit.
There were so many boys and girls sitting with them but before I could overthink it too much Grey sees me and waves me over.I gladly take a seat next to him
"Hey babe how's the first day going?" He said twirling my hair with his finger
"It's good. I already made 2 friends and I'm sitting with them after I talk to you guys." He smiles at me"That's great Thee." Beau takes a seat on the other side of me
"Hey baby girl. Day going good?" I nod just as a girl across the way clears her throat"Um who the hell is this?"She glares at me like I kicked her puppy.
I grab Greysons arm feeling slightly threatened"Jasmine chill." Greyson says to the the angry girl.
Jasmine only intensifies her glare "Babe? Why the hell are you calling some little slut all these cutesy names? I'm supposed to be your girlfriend Greyson."
Grey slings a protective arm around my shoulders "First off you're not my girlfriend. Second off do not call my little sister a slut. What is wrong with you." Grey snarls at the girl
"Yeah dude she's 9 what the fuck?" Beau says grabbing my hand under the table.
I don't dare look Jasmine in the eyes but I can feel the daggers she's still shooting at me
"I don't care if she's your sister. She's probably a slut anyways. And you never call me those cute names." She pouts angrily.Someone puts a hand on my head and I look up to see Drew red faced angry
"What's going on?"He directs to Beau. "This bitch called our 9 year old sister a slut." He seems just as mad as the other boys but Drew is by far the most angry. "Are you fucking for real?" He growls. Jasmine pales slightly but doesn't back down."Well she is."
Drew quickly looks at me still in Greyson protective hold
"Grey take care of her. Beau me and you are gonna have a little chat with Jasmine here." The way he says chat implies it won't be friendly. "Can I go sit with my friends?" I whisper to Grey
"Yeah c'mon I'll take you over." He says absently. We stand up and I realize that the whole cafeteria is staring at us. I instinctively hide behind Grey and he puts a hand on my back.
When we reach Abbey and Collin I expect Grey to go back to his table but instead he sat next to me while I ate my lunch.
Collin and Abbey were surprised for a second but soon resumed their chatter and I joined in. When the lunch bell rings and all my classmates go outside for recess, Greyson grabs my arm "Hey I'm sorry you had to hear all that." He said stroking my hair. I shrug
"It's okay. I do have one question though." Grey nods "Shoot." We both stand up. "What's a slut?" Grey breaks out laughing and I glare at him. "I'll tell you when you're 18." He says once he catches his breath.I was confused but left it alone and ran outside to go on the swings with Abbey.
The rest of the day was normal and pretty good.We did all of our work and for freetime I colored with Abbey another girl named Sophie. When I get back to the car, Drew immediately picks me up and hugs me. "Are you okay bug?" He asks with his face buried in my hair
"I'm fine." I said hugging him back.He drops me and gently pushes me to the car "Lets go home." He says with a sigh.I do as he says and we all start talking about our days
"So guys, Thea introduced me to her friends today." Grey says with a mischievous tone"Okay. Were they nice enough for our little baby?" Beau asked from the front seat.
Grey nods "But there is one thing about one of them." I raise my eyebrow to ask what he's getting on about
"One's a boy."
For some reason the boys seem to go into an angry shock.
That can't be good.

Ursus Ex Machina
Ozzy was a man of the wild. Raised in a remote village atop the world's mightiest mountain, he'd been taught to respect and revere the natural world. The realm he was born into had been there long before him, and it would remain there long after him. Sure, there was the occasional madman who threatened to destroy it, but such boasts were always empty. No one individual was actually capable of demolishing this beautiful blue-and-green ball Ozzy called home. No matter what terrible magics these villains wielded, they were incapable of causing permanent harm to the environment. Even if the planet was completely devastated, it would recover. Life would find a way to flourish, same as it always had. That was what Ozzy believed from the bottom of his heart, so he never once felt the need to save the world he loved. After all, it was never truly in danger. The world would be fine no matter what. The people were a wee bit endangered, but that was another story altogether. However, what would happen if Ozzy suddenly found himself devoid of his beloved wilds? What would the man do if the realm he knew - one of wonder, magic, and chaos - was replaced with a man-made environment of concrete, industry, and steam? Ozzy could never imagine such a thing happening, and yet that was his new reality. After losing a fateful confrontation with a mad wizard, he and his friends found themselves transported to a strange world so thoroughly alien that every waking moment feels like a fever dream. Separated and scattered to the four corners of this land, each of these adventurers will need to adapt, survive, and overcome if they hope to reunite. They would also need to do so quickly. The sooner they are able to find one another, the sooner they can figure out a way back home and have another crack at putting an end to the villain's plans. Whether such a thing was actually possible in a world with barely any magic in it was a valid concern, but Ozzy had more immediate things to worry about. For instance, why did the air smell like a perpetual forest fire? How did ships sail through the sky as if it were water? And most importantly, was the pavement he was hurtling towards at high speed much softer than it looked? Probably not, but a man could hope.
