-Thea-
When you're floating in darkness nothing hurts. Nothing weighs down on your soul crushing it little by little. Nothing aches or smarts reminding you of your past mistakes. When you're floating in darkness you are at peace.
But this peace is never acquired naturally. This is a darkness given to you by those who supply your nightmares. You will learn to savor it but also dread it. Because the worst part of floating in darkness is coming back to the light.
My eyes fluttered open to find myself sprawled out on the kitchen floor. It was sticky with blood. My blood.
Bread.
This all started with bread. I had the audacity to steal a piece after not eating for the last 4 days. So I received a punishment from my mother and stepfather. For being a lying stealing bitch. In my opinion I do not fit any of those words but they say it so often it must be true. They were awful words spoken by awful people but I couldn't ignore the voice in my head telling me they were right.
Sitting up I hissed at a sharp pain in my ribs. That was gonna be fun to deal with later. Once I was on my feet I saw Mom and my step dad Greg sitting on the couch, chatting as if there wasn't a 9 year old passed out in the next room over. They disgust me. I slowed my motions being cautious of the creaking floor boards.
I just need to make it to my room. Once I'm in my room I'm safe for the time being.
I tiptoed up the stairs until I got to the safety of my "room" (it's really just an attic with a ripped mattress and a tattered blanket) grabbing the mirror and first aid kit from under my bed.

I had once read a book about how soldiers used to clean wounds with minimal supplies so I knew how to keep from getting an infection. I ran my sliced up arms under the warm tap, trying to rinse the bacteria out. I rinsed the clumped blood out of my hair and felt the painful gash behind my head.
I washed it with warm water as best as I could but luckily my hair hid it rather well. They never left a mark on my face. They were cruel but they were not stupid. A bruise on my face would be suspicious. I was looking at my black and blue ribs when I heard her call me
"Thea, come down here." Mom called in a sickly sweet voice.
The fact that she used my name sent shivers down my spine. She was usually far too high or drunk out of her mind to even remember my name and the tone she used was so far from the venomous one she usually spoke with when addressing me.
"Thea! Get down here now!" She demanded in a harsher tone.
That's more like it.
I complied before my punishment could exceed what it already definitely was. I did not need to piss her off any more than I already had. When I got to the bottom of the stairs I saw something strange. Mom smiling. Not a twisted smirk or the smile she plastered on for police and social workers. But a real genuine smile.
She's probably drunk.
She was grinning like the Cheshire Cat. It made my stomach churn and my heart race.
What was she planning?
"Thea dear, go pack you things." She said giddily.
This was getting weirder and weirder.
I gulped before asking a question
"Um Ma'am? Where am I going?" I flinched away afraid of being hit for questioning her but it never came.
"You're going to live with your father."
My heart dropped to my stomach.

The Eternal Seeker Saga
In a universe where Earth is nothing but a distant memory, and humanity is clawing its way back from a million years long interstellar dark age, Sarah Ciel-étoilé is but a humble mercenary. For 60 years, her crew of exiles has followed her onboard their stolen military gunship, the Eternal Seeker. But now, a threat like they have never seen before is rising. The Dominion, an intergalactic empire over a millenia old, is dying. Its catastrophic civil war almost brought it to total collapse, and it endures only through the strength of its navy. But that strength is waning. Throughout the Dominion's Protectorate, whispers of a revolution are spreading, and insurrections are flaring up, as a conspiracy set on casting down the Dominion and burning it to the ground set its plan into motion. Yet, behind all the chaos and the destruction, something far more sinister brews in the shadows, and it could change the face of the universe forever. This is the story of Sarah, and her mercenaries, during these troubled and dark times, as empires fall...and others rise. ----- Chapters will be posted every sunday, mostly at 23h30 CET (22h30 UTC), although I will probably experiment with different release times. Another World Trucker
I must be cursed. All I've ever wanted to do in my life is hit the open road and drive to my heart's content. But life seems to have other plans for me. After dying while on delivery in my semi I wake up to find myself in another world, with my truck. I've always wanted to be the driver, but at this point, I'm just in the passenger seat while whatever forces control these worlds drive me along. Hopefully, this world won't end as bad as the last one. In another world with my truck! Another fairly standard isekai, but one that's hopefully engaging enough to keep everyone around. Also, way too many references to other isekai's will be included. My first time ever writing a story so feedback is greatly appreciated.

The Dawnfire Archives
It begins in the endless wastes, with an unknown man arriving at the bottom of the tallest mountain in existence. A mysterious voice provides few directions, bringing more questions than answers. Regardless, after choosing a name and weapon... the man begins to climb. He will not be alone on this journey. A young individual from a different reality has also made his way to The Climb. But what does their arrival bode for the people of this world? And where does climbing the mountain truly lead? This is my second novel on Royal Road, the first being "Beyond the Horizon's Eye", and the third being "The Card Thief of Culnivar". This story is much more GameLIT than Xianxia, and takes place in a different setting with an entirely new cast of characters. It does, however, contain several ties between the stories. Average post between 1000 - 3000 words.

SWTOR: The Alpha Legacy - Alexandra 'Under the Black'
This was the first character backstory and first full story in The Old Republic era after 'Project Alpha: A Summary: 'Old Republic to Current Operational Era'. This one was actually written much later. Several of the full stories were done and there was a need to introduce the Mother of several of the main characters. Much later on I started a timeline and this seemed to fit nowhere else, but right after the introduction story: Alexandra De'nabre lost everything on one of the moons of Felucia. But life found her again. As a Mirialan Jedi, she was sworn to the Unity and to the Force; casting both away once she believed both left her. The Force finds her again. And brings her back a part of her life she believed she lost. Her children. But in a cruel twist of fate, the very Republic she once defended is suddenly out to get her. Not because in her new life as an infamous pirate she committed crimes against them. The children she lost are now wards of the Republic and a special project called: Alpha. And they will stop at nothing to keep Alexandra from reclaiming them.
