I'm so sorry for the waiting! I was dealing with finals and other tests(for my state) that are super important and I need to pass! I've been working on this chapter for a while and I'm proud of it. After this chapter, there's just one more and then an epilogue. I hope you enjoy this chapter! (also the pics coming up are characters dresses for prom because I'm bad at describing lol)

****Iris' POV****

As I took in the details of the stunning dress in front of me, I couldn't help but grin widely. It was a long, dark purple dress. There was a v-neck in the top that didn't reach too low. Two straps connected the front with the back of the dress that would reach a bit below mid back. Then there was the long slit in the dress where my leg will be shown.

Ms. Sullivan was looking between the dress and I. "So, what do you think? Pretty cool, huh? I made it specifically for you." She smiles at me, feeling pride in her work. "Cool? This is absolutely amazing! It's beautiful! I can't believe you made this for me." I continue to gawk at the dress before turning to her, smiling wide. "Oh, I'm so glad you like it! I guess being in the fashion biz does have its perks." She giggles a bit at her own statement.

"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" I rush over to her and embrace her, squeezing her tightly though she's probably used to it since Oliver hugs like this too. "Of course! It was nothing. I enjoyed making this dress and seeing you love it makes it so worthwhile." She says, smiling as she pulls away.

"Now, lets go get you ready. Invite Kayla as well. I can't wait to see you both! You're going to both look beautiful." She exclaims, probably more excited than I am for the prom. "I'll go get Ruby to help out." She claps her hands and hurries out of the room. I laugh, picking up my phone and making a quick call to Kayla.

After about fifteen minutes, Kayla arrives at our house with her dress and her shoes. And Oliver wasn't here to tell us off about so many girls in the house. He was actually over Lucas' house. I think they're going together as friends.

"Okay, I got the makeup, the dresses, the irons, and the snacks all together. We should be good." Ms. Sullivan says, counting her fingers while turning to Kayla, Ruby, and I. We laugh and I stand. "Let's get started!" I exclaim.

Kayla and I took turns getting our makeup done. Yes, we could've done it ourselves but Ms. Sullivan wanted to help and we couldn't say no. Plus, it's more fun this way.

*************

About an hour and a half later, Kayla and I were ready for prom. We were standing side by side in front of the mirror of my bedroom, admiring ourselves and each other.

"Iris, we look beautiful." Kayla giggles, twiddling the ends of her skirt. I smile, looking between the two of us.

With my dress, I wore black heels with a thin strap around my ankle. The heel wasn't that high, maybe two inches. My hair was put half up in a bun and the rest was down. It was also curled with a curling iron, making the curls that lined my face bounce around easily.

Kayla was wearing a black strapless dress with long sleeves. The skirt was short in the front only reaching up to a little before her knees. In the back, the skirt was long and flowing a bit behind her. There were patterns along the skirt and sleeves of the dress. Paired with her dress were black heels that were open toe which showed off her nude painted pedicure. And her hair was up in a bun with two crimped strands pulled in front of her face.

"We really do." I say and turn to her, "When is Adam picking us up?" I ask her, realizing we've been staring in the mirror for a while now. "In about five minutes so we should head downstairs. Why couldn't Terrence pick you up again?" She asks, grabbing her black leathered pocket book with her necessities inside. "He didn't say. Oliver even gave me permission to tell him where I lived but Terrence said he wasn't able to do I wasn't able to." I tell her with a shrug.

"That's..strange? Anyway, lets go. Ms. Sullivan said she wanted some pictures before we left." Kayla reminds me, making her way out of the room. I giggle and look at myself in the mirror one last time. I smile proudly and follow after Kayla downstairs.

"Oh, you two look so beautiful!" Ms. Sullivan exclaims, holding her large camera in her hands. "You both look so pretty!" Ruby agrees, grinning brightly. "Thank you!" Kayla and I happen to say simultaneously, smiling wide.

We took a few pictures. One or two separately, the others were together and some were with Ruby as she wanted to be apart of the 'photo shoot' too. When Adam showed up, you bet Ms. Sullivan dragged him in here for pictures. Adam and Kayla exchange their corsage and boutonnière which Ms. Sullivan took pictures of them putting it on one another. She thought it was adorable and I couldn't agree more.

"What a coincidence that Iris — the young lady who now lives with us — would be friends with your girlfriend, Adam. I never realized how close you all really were." She says with a small smile. "It's crazy how the world works, Ms. Sullivan." Adam admits, smiling back with his arm around Kayla's shoulders. "Almost as if we're in some cliche storyline." I joke, giggling a bit which cause the others to laugh.

"Well, I don't want to keep you all waiting. Go have fun!" Ms. Sullivan exclaims, grinning proudly. "Bye Ms. Sullivan!" Adam and I say. "Thank you for inviting me over! It was nice seeing you again. Bye Ms. Sullivan!" Kayla adds as we all begin walking out to Adam's car. "Anytime!" Ms. Sullivan calls after her before closing the door.

Adam opens the door for Kayla and I. Kayla was sitting up front in the passengers seat. At first, she was hesitant as she didn't wanna leave me alone in the back but I assured her that I was okay.

We began driving towards the school. Windows down, volume up, and hands out the window. That was us. After years of high school and all the work and effort we've put in, we have one night to spend with everyone that we've grown with. It was our night to have fun and enjoy with everyone. We were going to make it special.

When we got there, the doors were wide open, welcoming us inside just like they had that first freshman year. The music could be heard from outside. There were some people making their way inside now, all dressed nicely and some even taking pictures.

Adam, once again, opens the doors for Kayla and I. We step out around the same time, watching everyone around us walk into the school.

"This is gonna be awesome!" Kayla exclaims excitedly, closing the door behind her. I close the door behind me as well, looking around for Terrence as he said he'd wait for me by the entrance.

My eyebrows furrow as I become confused at the current sight. Not just by seeing Terrence, but seeing him with his arm around some other girl, giving her a kiss on the cheek.

I wasn't jealous. Not at all. But if he was going to just invite someone else instead, why didn't he just tell me? I would've stayed home.

"Iris, you good?" I hear Adam ask beside me. I hadn't realized that I was just standing by the car, staring at the two. "Um..yeah, sorry." I reply, shaking my head. Maybe they were just friends taking a picture together?

It may seem like I'm jealous but I'm actually not. I'm just confused. And I may seem selfish for saying this and I don't mean to be but I thought he was interested in me? Wow..that sounds really bad...but thats what it seemed like at least. If he wasn't, why would he ask me to prom?

Adam, Kayla, and I begin walking to the doors just as the girl he was talking to walks inside. He turns around and smiles. "Iris, hey!" He greets as if nothing happened, rushing over to me and throwing his arms around me. "Oh, hi Terrence." I force a smile back, wrapping my arms around him to return the now awkward hug.

"Come on, lets go." He says, grabbing my hand and dragging me inside before I could say anything to Adam and Kayla. It's like he was in a rush?

We make it inside to our school's large gym. Music was blasting. Kids were dancing. Lights were illuminating the dark room in various colors. It was amazing.

I look over to Terrence, finally getting a chance to see his outfit. He was wearing a tux but without a tie. "Terrence, you look great!" I had to shout over the loud music, trying to start a conversation with him. "What?" He shouts back, facing me. I lean in towards his ear, "I said, you look great!" I repeat, smiling at him. "Oh, thank you." He replies, smiling before looking towards the crowd again.

I bite my lip, standing awkwardly as I think of something to say next. This wasn't what I expected to happen tonight. "So Terrence-"

"I'm gonna go get us something to drink! Be right back!" He exclaims, hurrying off towards the large tables close to the walls of the room. "Oh, um okay?" I mumble mainly to myself as I watch him walk off.

I sigh softly, glancing around. On the other side of the room, I can't help but notice three boys laughing as they drank the punch from their cups. I smile and walk over to them, noticing each of them in tuxes as well. I don't think I've ever seen them dress this nice.

"Hey guys!" I greet them. They look over and smile. "Sup!" Ross replies, one hand tucked in the pocket of his pants as he leans against the wall and the other holding his drink. "Iris! Damn, you look amazing. Ms. Sullivan really went all out on your dress." Lucas adds, checking the dress out. "Thank you," I smile at the compliment, "And yeah, she did! This dress is just breathtaking." I say, looking down at it as I pat the skirt down slightly.

"She was super proud of it when she finished," I look over towards Oliver who already was looking at me, "And I can definitely see why. You look beautiful." Oliver admit, a bright smile on his face. Almost as if he was proud to say that. I felt my face burn. "Thank you." I glance him up and down, noticing his tie is the same color as my dress but I decide not to point that out, "You don't look too bad yourself, marshmallow." I tease, smiling at him. He chuckles, letting out a quiet 'ouch' as he clutches his hand over his chest as if he's been hurt badly.

****3rd POV****

"If you two don't stop flirting, I'm gonna puke." Ross says, holding back a small smile. He wasn't actually. He was just teasing them. That jerk. He's trying to expose me. Oliver and Iris happened to think at the same time. "Shut up!" Oliver laughs to play it off, nudging Ross in the ribs.

"So, I see you all came together huh?" Iris asks, almost in a teasing manner but she was just joking. "Duh. Bros before h-" Oliver clamps a hand over Lucas' mouth to stop him from finishing his sentence. Oliver was shaking his head like a disappointed father. Lucas pouts and uses this opportunity to lick Oliver's hand. Then Oliver jolts away and removes his hand away from Lucas, immediately wiping it on Lucas' suit. "That..was gross." Oliver mumbles, glaring at Lucas who just cackled. Ross was laughing at the two and Iris couldn't help but giggle.

"Anyway, where's Terrence? Weren't you guys here together?" Lucas asks, tilting his head in confusion as he ignores what just happened. "Oh uh yeah, he said he was getting drinks for us." Iris replies with a small shrug. "It takes him this long to get a drink?" Ross raises an eyebrow, looking suspicious and unamused. "Maybe he just ran into a friend. No big deal." Iris says, biting her lip as it was now obvious that something was up.

"Hey, how about we all go dance?" Oliver suggests, leaning off the wall. "Yeah, sure!" Lucas exclaims, walking to the center of the gym that was considered the dance floor. Ross shrugs, following after him. Oliver begins following his friends but stops to give Iris a wink before making his way over. Iris smiles to herself, then follows after them excitedly.

Before she can even make it over to them, Terrence steps in front of her holding two cups with punch in them. "Here ya go!" He smiles, handing her a cup. "Oh, thanks." She mumbles with a small smile, taking the cup and taking a few sips. "How about we dance?" Terrence asks her, taking her empty hand. "Oh, sure!" She exclaims, wanting to make the best out of the night.

He drags her away from the boys and towards some of his football friends in the crowd who were also dancing with their dates. Even Chad and Addison were there. But they were enjoying each other's company. As they dance which was mainly just rocking to the beat, Terrence would talk to his friends, barely giving Iris attention.

"Iris, I'll be right back. The guys wanna show me something. I can throw out our cups too." Terrence shouts over the music, taking her empty cup from her hand. "Sure, go ahead." She nods, letting him walk off with his friends.

"Hey, um..Iris?" A voice calls from behind her. She turns to face the blonde that has been tormenting her for the last three years. Addison was wearing a dark red dress with a poofy skirt while the top of it was covered in silver gems that reflected the color changing lights that roamed the gym floors.

"Oh, hey Addison?" She replies, rather confused. "I just wanted to say..well a few things to say. One, I love your dress." Iris smiles at the compliment, "And two, I'm a total jerk. I regret everything I've ever done to you or anyone this year. I don't deserve forgiveness..or to have loving friends and a boyfriend. I'm so sorry I never apologized sooner. I was blinded by my own actions and I sincerely apologize." She admits, her eyebrows creasing in sorrow and Iris could've sworn she saw tears forming in her eyes.

Iris couldn't believe it. She knew Addison has started being nicer but she wasn't expecting this. "Well one, thank you. You look beautiful as well." Addison smiles, pursing her glossy lips, "And two, Addison...you've changed. A lot. And I really appreciate that. So maybe I can find it in me to forgive you. And don't cry, you're going to ruin your amazing make up." Iris giggles. Addison's smile widens and wraps her arms around Iris. "Thank you, Iris! You have no idea how much that means to me. I'm sure if we had more time we might actually get along." Addison admits as Iris wraps her arms around Addison as well. "Well, if you really think that, I can just give you my number and see how things go." Iris says, pulling away with a small smile.

Addison nods, "Definitely! Um..I can write it down in your yearbook tomorrow?" She suggests. "That'd be great, Addison." Iris smiles. "Addy." She corrects, "Its what my friends call me." She smiles. "Well, that'd be great..Addy." Iris repeat with her nickname.

"Hey, babe! Over here!" They hear Chad call by the tables covered with snacks and drinks. "Oh, coming!" She calls back to him, "See you around, Iris." She tells Iris but before she walks off, she leans towards Iris' ear. "Don't force yourself to enjoy the prom if you're not with the right guy." She whispers before hurrying off to Chad.

Her eyes widened. Was she really that obvious? Terrence would've said something though. Maybe it was just Addison's intuition. Addison wasn't dumb, that was for sure. She knew the latest gossip and could definitely tell how people felt and what was going on. It's like this girl could read minds.

But besides that, Iris couldn't help but smile. She was so proud of Addison for changing her ways. "Huh..that was unexpected." She hears Terrence beside her. Iris faces him quickly, "Yeah..but I'm glad." She admits, hoping he didn't catch that last part which she doubted as it was hard to hear over the music. "Hmmm.." He hums.

The song changes from an upbeat song to a slow one. Terrence grins and holds his hand out to Iris, "Dance with me?" He asks. Iris just nods, placing her hand in his. He immediately after places her hands on his shoulder and his on her waist, starting to sway to the music.

"So..Iris, can I ask something?" Terrence whispers as his mouth is by her ear. "Yeah, sure." She says with a small smile as they continue to rock from side to side.

"How long have you been living with Oliver?"

She freezes and her eyes widen but Terrence keeps swaying in place. "Um..what?" She tries to play it off. "You heard me." He replies without hesitation. "Terrence..how did you-"

"The day Oliver won against Chad. I saw you two get in the same car and drive off." He admit, emphasizing the word 'won'. She bit her lip, "You didn't tell anyone right?" She asks, worried at the thought of others knowing. Oliver would be so upset. "'Course not. I'm sure you two are living together for a good reason." He says.

Iris let's put a sigh of relief, glancing at Oliver who was talking to Ross and Adam by the snack table. "There is actually." She mumbles but doesn't say anything further, thinking about her father. "Hey, why the sad face?" Terrence asks her with a pout. "It's..it's nothing.." She mumbles forcing a small smile. He's silent for a moment. "You can talk to me about your parents anytime, ya know?" He says.

About now, Iris was a bit weirded out. Terrence was acting different. Maybe he was just pretending to be nice and this is how he truly is? Also, randomly bringing up Oliver...and now her parents? She doesn't even know how he knew about them.

"Terrence..I appreciate it but I really don't want to.." She looks up at him, biting her lip. "Do you not trust me?" He asks suddenly, his swaying coming to a stop. "That's not it, I'm just not comfortable talking about it." Iris tells him, taking a step back as she was extremely uncomfortable. He opens his mouth to say something but quickly closes it.

"Alright, Fine. I understand. I wont mention it again." He says, holding his hands up in a surrender. Iris sighs softly, "Thank you." She mumbles.

Suddenly, the song comes to an end. Some of the lights in the gym form a spotlight on the stage. Everyone faces the stage as one of the leaders of the prom committee walks on.
