The rest of the day went by pretty fast. So fast that when it came to lunch, I hadn't even thought about what I was going to do.
"Y/n." Sophia said waving her hands in front of my face.
"Huh." I said snapping out of a daydream.
"It's lunch time." She said clenching her teeth nervously.
"Okay?" I said confused.
"May I remind you about Jack." She said.
"Oh, right." I said.
"You know what, let's sit at a separate table." She said as I gathered my things.
"No, it's fine." I insisted. "There's no reason I can't be a civilized human being."
"Are you sure? She said trying to change my mind.
"I'm sure." I said.
We dropped our stuff off in our next period classes and walked to lunch. We sat down with Sophia right next to me. Everyone filled in their seats except the seat across from me.
"Y/n, where's Jack?" Wyatt asked.
Sophia immediately shot him a dirty look.
"It's okay, Soph. Um... we broke up yesterday." I said trying to fight back tears.
"Oh. Does that mean that he's not sitting with us." He asked.
Jaeden reached over to Wyatt and slapped him.
"NO." Jaeden said rolling his eyes and slowly looking away.
"Oh." Wyatt said looking down.
"Are you sure about that?" Finn asked.
I turned around to see Jack walking up to the table.
"Great." I mumbled under my breath.
"Are you sure about this?" Sophia asked.
I sharply inhaled. "I'm fine." I said trying to assure myself.
Jack took the seat across from me. We made eye contact, but I immediately looked away.
"So guys, how's casting going for IT?" I asked turning away from Jack.

"It's good." Wyatt said awkwardly drinking his milk.
I caught myself staring at Jack on accident. Apparently, he did to. As much as I hated to admit it, I still loved Jack but, it killed me to know he didn't feel the same way.
For a relatively fast passing day, lunch was long even though it was as long as the rest of the classes.
As lunch ended, Sophia and I walked to our last class of the day.
"So, how awkward was that?" She asked.
"Very." I said mentally facepalming.
My phone buzzed. I pulled it out of my pocket to see a text.
💔
We need to talk.
-oof sorry it's so short😂💜
