I watched the door carefully, waiting for Ellie to walk through. I plan on hiding behind my seat partner when she walks in. He must've noticed my slight fear of the girl. It was mostly getting in trouble and messing up my decent record.
"You okay?" he looked over at me once the conversation he was having with the guy in front of him had ended. "You look a little scared."
"I'm a little scared. I mean I did punch Ellie in the nose," I cringed at the thought of my fist connecting with her nose.
"Wait, really?" his eyes widened at my statement.
"Yeah...um...yeah," I continued to stare at the door.
"What did she do to make you that mad?"
"When I tried to walk to Jack, my boyfriend, she pulled me back by my hair. She had already been saying rude things towards me, so it just ticked me off," Ellie walked through the door, a tissue sticking out of her nose. I held in a laugh and ducked behind the black-haired male. He was taller than me by about three inches so I hid well. His name was Keith if I remember correctly.
"Did she see me?" I asked, peeking around his shoulder. Ellie had sat down close to the front.
"Nah," I came out from behind him fully.
"Did you see the thing in her nose?" I asked, trying not to snort.
"Yeah. You must've hit her pretty hard," Keith studied the back of Ellie's head.
"Must have."
Our conversation broke off and I desperately tried to stay awake through the entire class. The stuff we were learning was review and I already knew it. When we got sheets I quickly finished them and set them aside, always alert.

Lunch rolled around and I stayed behind in class to leave after Ellie. Once she had disappeared through the door with her minions, I sped to my locker to put my things up. When I made it to my locker I was greeted by Jack.
"Hey," he looked distracted as he leaned against the locker beside mine.
"What's up?" I asked, my eyebrow raised.
"I just wanted to pick you up for lunch," he rubbed the back of his neck with a small smile over his lips. Cute...
"Aw aren't you adorable?" I spoke in a joking tone and rubbed his hair.
"I'm not adorable, I'm manly," I laughed as he puffed his chest out.
"Keep dreaming," I rolled my eyes, a smile wide across my lips.
After I put my stuff up in my locker I walked to Jack's table with him. The others were already there, talking amongst themselves. It seemed like there were many different conversations happening.
Jack sat down in his seat and I sat in his lap. I already knew he was going to pull me there anyway. I cuddled into his shoulder, my tiredness getting the best of me.

"I'm sleepy," I mumbled to him. I felt his arms snake around my waist and pull me closer.
"You have to stay awake," he poked my side a little, making me squirm in his grip.
"Why? You're comfortable," I whined, snuggling more into his shoulder.
"Because we're in school," he chuckled and gave me a squeeze. I let out an unattractive noise at the sudden squeeze. I quickly covered my mouth. "What was that?"
"I made an unattractive sound, leave me alone."
"It was weirdly adorable. Don't worry about it," he pulled me back into him with a small laugh.
"Stop laughing at me," I gave him a fake pout.
"Why should I do that?" he raised an eyebrow, a challenging smirk on his face.
"I won't ever let you kiss me," his smirk fell, a pout growing on his lips. I smirked at his reaction.
"Awe, come on. You know I want that kiss."
"Don't laugh at me then," I poked his nose.
"Hmph. You're no fun."
"Awe you love me," I smiled at him.
"That's my line," he smiled back.

"Why can't I make this stupid thing?" I laughed at Keith as he poured random things into his beaker. Turns out we have Chemistry together too.
"Keith you can't do that," I stopped him from pouring more in there.
"It wouldn't work with the way he gave us."
"You have to measure the stuff," I rolled my eyes.
"But...I don't want to," he rubbed the back of his neck and set the stuff down.
"If you want to get anywhere in life you have to measure stuff."
"Since when?"
"Since chemistry."
"I hate chemistry," he started working correctly with measuring. I giggled and worked on mine.
"Why is it smoking?" he looked at me with panic in his eyes.
"Did you listen?"
"I try not to in this class."
"Keith, you need to start listening," I finished my mixture and went over to help him.
"Nah," he waved his hand in dismissal.
"Yeah," I nodded my head and helped him with his mixture.
We worked in silence for a little before he broke it. "How are things with you and Jack?"
His question startled me. I forgot that I told him about Jack in the Ellie class. I hated to lie and this whole relationship was one. "Good. It's been like two days but he buys me fast food. That's always a plus."
He chuckled at my answer. "Sounds like a keeper, huh?"
"Yeah," I smiled at him and got back to work.
Our class was over soon, the time gone on our joking with each other and his terrible chemistry knowledge. We walked out of the class together, him deciding to walk with me to my locker.
"Thanks for helping me with the chemistry," he gave me a smile.

"No problem. Just start paying attention in the class," I smiled at him.
I heard him let out a sigh. "I'll try. Is that your boyfriend?"
I looked over at my locker through the array of people. Standing beside my locker was Jack, staring at me as I proceeded to get closer. I gave him a smile and then turned to Keith, making sure I was paying attention to the people around me.
"Yeah, that's Jack."
"You're dating that douche?"
"He's only a douche to girls," I shrugged my shoulders.
"You're a girl Y/n."
"Yeah. I know my gender," I slightly glared at him.
"He treats you good and gets you fast food?"
"Yes. I trust Jack. We've been friends for a while," I looked back at Jack.
"As long as he doesn't hurt you."
"We just met. You shouldn't care so much," as I say this I walk over to Jack. I wave slightly back to Keith, not turning around to look at him.
"Hiya Jack," I open my locker as I wait for his response. I saw him lean more against the locker beside mine.
"Hey. Just decided I should start waiting by your locker. Who was that boy?"
"Keith. I met him in my Ellie class and we ended up having chemistry together," I noticed how I put the words. "Chemistry the class."
"Mhm..." he seemed a little distracted. I tried to see what it was that he was distracted by but all it came down to was his thoughts.
"What's on your mind?" I shut my locker, making him jump slightly. He looked at me with a slightly confused expression.
"Nothing," he replied. His brown eyes drifted from me as he went back into his mind.
"Come on I know there has to be something," I grabbed his hand with mine. I started walking in the direction of the exit.
"It's really nothing," I felt him shrug through our hands. I stopped tugging as much so I could be closer to his warmth. It wasn't the warmest outside.
"If you say so I'll leave you alone," I smiled back at him slightly. "Just curious, as always."
"Do you think you could wear my away jersey to the football game tomorrow?"
"Sure," I shrugged my shoulders.
"Let me go get it so I can give it to you. Here's the car key," he handed me the key and took off the other way after letting go of my hand.
My hand felt cold without his warm hand present. I rubbed my hand with the other. I continued walking to the door. I got about halfway to the door when I saw Ellie. I tried to hide a bit but I knew I was spotted by her. I could see her coming to me.
She went straight up to me and silently stood in front of me with her head confidently raised. I gripped the key in my hand tighter.
"Hi slut. How's the relationship," she smirked at me from her height above me. It was mainly her high heels that made her taller.
"Don't call me slut," I snarled pushing past her. She quickly grabbed my shoulder. I quickly shook her hand off.
"You think you can hurt my nose and get away with it?" she raised her eyebrow at me.
"I'd do it again if I could," I turned around and started walking to the door again.
I heard her heels clink across the floor behind me. I picked my pace up and tried to out walk her. Once I was out of the door and into the cold, I quickly unlocked Jack's car with the button on the key. I hopped into the car before she could get to me.
"Jack's mine bitch," she glared at me before walking back to the school.
I was shivering and my book bag was still on my back. I threw my bag into the back seats and turned the car on so I could warm myself. It took Jack only about five minutes to get to the car.
He opened his side and sat in his seat. He turned his car on and handed me the jersey in his hand. "That's going to look good on you."
"Thanks," I pushed a piece of my hair back, a light blush on my cheeks.
"No problem," he winked at me as he pulled out of the parking lot.
His flirting seemed to effect me a little more than it has before. I wondered why as we made our way to my house. I didn't like him. I couldn't, it was one of the things I told myself before I even said yes to this fake dating thing.
We made it to my house faster than I thought we were going to. I might have been in my mind more than I was in the world. Jack tried making conversation but most times I didn't hear him. He was probably curious as to why I'm distracted. Now he knows how I feel.
"You coming in or going home?" I turned to him before I left. I adjusted my book bag on my shoulder as I waited for a reply.
"Sure," he gave me a smile, turned his car off, and got out.
We walked into my house, him trailing a little behind me. "I'm home Mom! Jack's with me!" I yelled out to her from where ever she could be.
"Okay!" I heard her yell from maybe her room. "Don't have too much fun!"
I rolled my eyes and started walking up the stairs. "Can't promise anything."
As soon as I heard Jack's words my face grew red. I made sure to not let him see my red face. If I liked him, I wouldn't let him know. That was one thing I was sure of.

The Arcane Gunslinger
A lazy celestial being's mistake leads to Sergeant William Remington, a decorated member of the Coalition Marines, to be placed into a new body. His old life aboard the Valkyrie, an interstellar destroyer has also been replaced as he finds his new body in an unknown world. Where he learns of magic, skills, the system, helhorses, and slinging lead with ancient revolvers. Initially, he is skeptical of his new norm but the desire to survive leads him to try to earn a living while he figures out what just happened to his life. He's a fighter but far from the elite, a grunt with some experience. But what better way than to fall back to what he's familiar with, weapons and going after criminals and rebels. With the added challenges of monsters. This is my first Litrpg writing. It's a wild west fantasy setting with the MC taking a role as a gun-slinging bounty hunter in a world of magic and monsters. Hope you enjoy it. UPDATES AT 3PM EST ON MONDAYS AND THURSDAYS! Warning. The story has a slow start because I'm trying to keep my MC realistic. It takes him some time to adjust to his new surroundings, start to make some friends, and really get into the swing of it. I kind of think it's dumb when an isekai's MC manages to blink twice and suddenly adapts to their new world without any sort of struggle or learning period. So not doing that but don't worry Will may be confused and a bit unfocused at first but he'll grow into his own. Also using it to practice my digital artwork... which is far from par but improving. Keep an eye on author notes for maps and depictions of monsters and characters.

If you do not have the financial means to purchase the books, then you may DM me on discord through my discord channel for a pdf version of the books. This is the first book I ever started out of my four current ongoing stories. This story has been edited through nearly a dozen times since the majority of the reviews, so take that in mind if you read through the reviews. This is a LitRPG and cultivation-based novel where the two are interlinked and the characters have to reach a certain degree of cultivation and a certain level in order to break through into the next tier. I tend to make a lot of maps for this book. I hope that you all enjoy my novel, and feel free to comment on any issues or errors you may notice. My Discord Server Top Web Novel Link
