Jack's P.O.V
It was last hour and normally Erin and I would be the first in the classroom but she was no where to be found. I was curious so I texted her. (Convo)
Me- Where are u??
Erin- I had take Cameron home because he got into a fight with Steve again.
Jack-Oh okay well I was going to ask you if you wanted to go to the park and hang out?
Erin- Yeah that seems nice
I put my phone away before the teacher came into the room. This last hour seemed to go by slower than normal, it felt like something was missing. Erin. Wait...could I, no I couldn't, do I like Erin. I do. I mean who wouldn't. Beautiful long brown hair. bluish green hazel eyes, and that adorable smile of hers. " So what's the answer Jack?" the teacher said, I turned bright red "Next time pay attention" she said then went back to teaching the class. Finally it's time to get out of this place, I quickly run to my locker and get my stuff. Then I turn around and see a guy with jet black hair, a football jacket, and two other guys standing beside him. " Well, Well, Well if it isn't the new boy" The black haired boy said, " Who are you and what do you want" I said annoyed, "Oh this one's got some sass" he said laughing. " Well I'm Steve and your new life isn't going to be perfect short one" I'm lost. "What's that mean" Oh god. Is he the school bully?? Not again my life will be a living hell. " Don't think just because you have a little crush on Erin doesn't mean you'll get her, she's never going to want to be seen with some that looks like you" he laughs then shoves me back into the lockers. " Just go away" I said trying to leave again, " Why should we,huh? You going to see your little crush, huh little Jackie" he and his gang laughed. " Your pain will begin soon" he said then walked away, but just before he did he punched me right in the gut. I fall in pain and try to stand back up. I grab the rest of my stuff and run out of the building.

Erin's P.O.V
Cameron and I were both in our rooms doing nothing when I heard knocking on the door " I'll get it" I yelled to Cam. I open the door to see Jack standing there clutching his stomach. "Jack are you okay? You look like you just got it in the gut by a truck." " No, that guy Steve and his gang punched me, right in the gut" he said still holding his stomach. "Come in, my dad won't be home till later so you can hang out for a while" I say. "Does your dad not like you having friends over when he's gone?" Jack asked taking off his shoes, "He doesn't really like me having anyone over" , Jack's mouth made an 'o' shaped. 'Should we go upstairs" I say trying to change the topic. We head upstairs and just start talking about school and other things like that then Jack asked a question that I hated to hear, "So is your mom at work or is with your dad" he said plopping onto my bed, I try to hold back tears and tried not to show my voice cracking. " Um, Jack can I tell you something...?" I asked on the verge of tears "Yes Erin, anything you can trust me" I breathe out and being to speak. " Well Jack, my mom died 4 years ago in a really bad car crash and after that everything just started to go downhill" I say " 1. I'm so sorry Erin and 2 what do you mean things have gone downhill?" he asked sounding a bit worried. " I'll tell you when i..." I didn't get to finish my sentence because I started crying. Dammnit Erin, why do you cry so much! Then I felt a pair of warm sleeved arms wrap around me from behind. Jack.

Dungeon Core? Nah, I Think I'll Just Get Super-Wealthy Instead
The cycle is simple enough. A Dungeon Core is born from a wayward soul. It seeks power and agency, and works to accumulate wealth to fuel its power, in turn using this power to accumulate further wealth. Inevitably, the mind is lost as desperation and ambition drive it to commit darker and darker acts. Shortly thereafter, the adventurers arrive to quell the core. This is a tale that has repeated itself countless times throughout history: all cores desire power. And yet, this core seems to have it backwards. It doesn't want to rule the world. It has no desire to enslave or conquer. No, this core doesn't want to be a warlord, a villain, or a tyrant. It wants to start a core-poration. After all, when money is power, what greater weapon is there than capitalism? Join a dungeon core that wastes an absurd amount of time and effort trying not to be evil on his journey to earn fat stacks against all odds. -This is a 'Dungeon Core' type fiction with LitRPG elements in it. The start may be fairly slow compared to the average. Expect roughly 2.5k per chapter. -I'm only a hobbyist writer. As such, there may be the occasional error and pacing may be poorly-handled. Constructive criticism is alway welcome. I'm just here to write stuff that makes my brain release the g o o d c h e m i c a l s. -I am trashy and I like monsterpeople so you can expect an awful lot of those as we get further in. Thank you for reading this far, and I hope you enjoy.
