《Son of Artemis Book 4》Chapter 12

Now some of you are probably wondering Thalia what were you thinking their last chapter. Well I'll be honest here.
After he said we didn't need Annie, I stopped thinking with logic and reason and was flooded in a blind rage.
Now I can't recall exactly what I did, I know it involved lightning, but when I regained my senses from the loud blast I noticed an angry bitch still alive, my nephew by Ares keeping his dog calm, a shocked lil cuz, cyclops, and satyr, a slightly irritated boyfriend, and an angry girlfriend.
Now Percy I know. He was probably planning to do that himself and I beat him to it. Annabeth though, I'm just going to guess it's because my impulsiveness.
"YOU BROKE THE RULES. Eurytion, Deal with them" Geryon ordered
"Why should he deal with us. You're the one who picked a fight with Thalia and me" Percy responded, only to send his own lightning strike at Geryon.
"EURYTION" Geryon yelled
"You keep picking fights and sending me out to deal with em and die. I'm done dying for you. So if you want to fight the daughter of Zeus and Artemis's kid, do it yourself" Eurytion said, and pulled popcorn out from somewhere. Grover, Tyson, and Nico joined him.
Geryon, seemed annoyed by this and started running to the farm house. Percy and I chased after him, despite Annabeth saying we could just leave and avoid the fight.
She may be right of course, but Geryon deserves death. The way how he treats the animals in his care, how he treats Eurytion, and insulting Annabeth, telling her to shut up, are all very reasonable reasons to ignore Annabeth and fight him. And that's before mentioning he's likely working for the Titans, supplying them with rations for their troops.

Annabeth sighed at the new position we dragged her and the others into, "You know if you two could have just let it go we could have came back later and dealt with him then, with better odds. But, NOOOOOOO, you two just have to get defensive over me"
I shared a quick look with Percy and we both shrugged. He probably would have fought anyway because how the animals were being treated. I...well she's right about me, I guess. Just don't tell her I agreed with her.
"He could run away by then though" Percy defended weakly
"And what MOVE AN ENTIRE RANCH WITH HIM" Annabeth responded as we just made it to the farm house.
Geryon, of course didn't have enough time to get fully suited in armor, but he had enough to time to grab his weapons. And was trying to get his shield on before Percy shot an arrow which ended up lodge in his shield arm preventing that.
"AHHHHHHH" Geryon screamed, " YOU INSOLENT DEMIGODS"
"The term your looking for is insufferable" Percy replied, with a smirk on his face.
Geryon didn't like that, if you couldn't guess, and took a swing at Percy with his sword which missed.
I sent another blast of Lightning's him, but it still didn't work to kill him. I'm also pretty sure it should work as he's not invulnerable like the nemean lion.
"Thalia he has three hearts. You have to kill all three and lightning won't work" Annabeth yelled in explanation to me
Ohh, I thought. Well that explains it.
"Use your arrows. Thalia left and Percy take the center one" Annabeth said pulling out her bow notching an arrow.
I did the same and took aim at the target she told me too and released.
I watched as my arrow flew through the air and hit him in the chest, piercing it deeply. Which left him stand for a few seconds before he went poof turning into gold monster dust.

"Well. That was a lot simpler than I thought it would be" I said
Annabeth, "I still can't believe you two. Just because someone insults and/or threatens me doesn't mean you have to fight them"
"But it does" Percy and I responded simultaneously
"I can handle myself you know"
"Oh we know we just prefer..." Percy and I were saying before we caught her glare at us, "yeah"
"Next time how bout strategy first, yolo later" Annabeth said to us as if we were five year olds that constantly were getting into trouble.
Percy turned and looked at me before we both turned and looked at Annabeth with our heads down, "fine"
"I'm just trying to stop you two from getting yourselves killed under my watch you know"
"Ok" we responded
"Good"
"You done scolding those two yet" Eurytion asked Annabeth
"Yeah I'm done"
"Good dinner is shortly if you all want to stay for some food" he offered to us
"As long as it's not the sacred cows, or the eggs from the Hippalektryons, I'm ok with staying" Percy replied

The story of Kingard the Binder in the aftermath of Broken This short story is the epilogue of Broken, the second book of the Chronicles of Mother's Gate series. It’s a great follow-up to the novel, a bonus story that adds extra layers but is set apart from the full-length narrative. Vast Asleep follows the story of Kingard, who finds himself caught in a world called Mother's realm, bathed in glowing light but strangely stuck in place. He encounters his greatson Varyan there, and learns that his experiences are likely dreams. As he grows more accustomed to the loving realm around him, Kingard remembers fear and trepidation about the face of the world, and he loses contact with his companion. This story answers the question, Is Kingard really dead? with a tentative no, and new mysteries brewing. It also raises the question, What's happening while he's awake? and includes an excerpt from the sister story Ride Awake, about Kingard's situation with the Colkh'rak. Praise for Tales of the Known World Bookends: Loved it. The difference between the two stories is great! The difference between the epilogue and prologue is astounding. So much light and love in the first story. You feel safe reading it. Healing. The second, so much darkness, pain and despair. The choice of vocabulary is awesome and makes an impact. And this set of short stories ties the two books together so well. -- Dana V. of Texas ★★★★★
