《Son of Artemis Book 4》Chapter 9

It hasn't even been a day, a day, amd Percy and Thalia are already creating problems on the quest. Like yes it's nice to have them because of their powers and skills, but seriously striking a God, albeit an annoying one, out of the blue at random. Seriously I thought Percy knew better than that...then again the god is male, and he was raised by the hunt.
Anyways after Thalia sent her lightning at Janus, a bright light started illuminating the room, and I was thinking great Thalia you just got us all killed because we can't fight him if he's in his true form.
Thankfully, or unthankfully, it wasn't Janus who caused the light...it was Hera.
She didn't look happy either, and part of that unhappiness was directed at Thalia and Percy. Thalia I understand, even Percy somewhat, but why was she mad with Janus.
"Causing trouble again, Janus" she asked, turning away from us, though I could tell she wasn't too happy, and definitely on edge, especially with Percy and Thalia still brandishing their weapons and shields.
"No milady" said the right face
"Yes" said the left one
"Shut up" the left replied
"Excuse me" Hera said, and even from behind her I knew I didn't want to receive the look she was giving, I could tell it was the one that only mothers could give, despite her not being Janus's mother.
"Oh I don't mean you milady. I was merely talking to myself" the left face defended
"I see. But you know that it is not yet time for the girl to choose and you visit is premature" She said, "So you can either leave them to me, or I'll turn you into a door and break you into a million pieces" She threatened

Janus left immediately, causing Hera to sigh, " I really was hoping he would choose the latter" she sighed, before turning to us. Though she still didn't look to pleased, "You Children must be hungry"
She waved her hand a marble table appeared filled with sandwich platters and pitchers of I hope lemonade.
I could tell Percy and Thalia were about to do something in the ballpark of pure unadulterated stupidity. So I quickly ran to them and put my hands over their mouths, to at least keep them quiet.
"Lady Hera why are you here" I asked, being as kind as possible as I know her views about my lovers.
Hera, however ignored me, and started serving sandwiches and Lemonade to Tyson, Grover, and Nico.
Grover however, didn't seem to want the sandwich, "Grover dear, use your napkin don't eat it" she told him in a scolding motherly voice.
Tyson on the other hand was going through peanut butter sandwiches like celestial bronze goes through monsters.
I sighed, figuring out why she didn't respond, "Queen Hera what are you doing down here in the labyrinth" I asked, doing my best to hide my annoyance.
Hera flicked her hand in my direction and I felt my hair being comb, as well as the dirt on my face being cleaned off, "I came to see you, naturally"
"Why are you really here" I asked, "You don't like Heroes, you really hate Thalia and Percy, and gods only come to heroes when they want something" I said getting to the end of whatever long conversation she wanted, mainly because Thalia and Percy were losing their patience.
"I swear one little spat with Heracles and all the sudden I'm covered in bad press" She complained, "I really should have hired a PR person back then"

Hera then sighed looking over us three, "Fine I guess we can skip to the end of our conversation and my time here" she sighed, "you see my only goal is to keep my family together, and Zeus allows me to...interfere once every so often, and I'm interested in your quest. And before you ask your wish, as you know and maybe some of your quest mates that possess a working brain, Daedalus was a brilliant inventor and his labyrinth the greatest of his inventions. Now my son Hephaestus was never so...intrigued by a mortal, and if you want to find out the inventors fate, I would ask him at one of his forges" she said, "Now your wish dear"
I was about to speak, asking how to get to Daedalus's workshop, thus how to navigate the labyrinth, but Percy pulled me back, and somehow kept all distaste out of voice when he spoke, "Would you mind if we discuss this as a team quickly" Percy asked
"No, do to annabeth keeping you two silent and being straight to the point you have a few minutes to discuss" she said waving us off to join the other three and discuss
"Why did you ask for time to discuss this matter" I asked, a little frustrated
"She hates Thalia and I remember. We have to outsmart her if we want something useful, so simple asking for a way to navigate this place, won't work for even if one of us knows a way how, but doesn't know that that is the answer or thinks it is the wrong one she will simple say we already have the answer" Percy explained
"Oh" I said, as realization washed over me.
"Then what should we ask for forest boy" Thalia taunted, but Percy ignored it.
"As I said, back when we were discussing the quest I think we should get Ariadne's advice and guidance" Percy explained
I sighed, knowing Percy was right, "Anyone else think we should ask for Ariadne's assistance" I asked
"It certainly beats Hera's"Thalia mumbled
"Yes" Nico replied, "She knows labyrinth's better than anyone" I have a feeling he was talking about mythomagic
"Alright" I said, getting up and making my way over to Hera
"Have you collected the advice of your quest members" she asked me, and I nodded
"Then what is your wish"
"I wish for the advice and guidance from Aridane, the daughter of Minos and wife of Dionysus, meeting her in person" I said
Hera seemed shocked for a moment, before resigning herself, before mumbling something so quietly I barely picked it up, "I can't believe they have her fatal flaw under control"
Hera let out a hefty sigh, "Alright you shall meet with her when you next exit the Labyrinth"
Hera then waved her hand taking down the two doors that Janus had in place, one being a path that was well lit and the other left in darkness.

The Unity takes all recruits to make matters worse, including the mythics! Are we talking about the same planet? (Reader discretion is advised; Contains Graphic Language and Potentially Excessive Swearing) *¹ Carioca = demonym of someone from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. *² humble and/or hardworking Cariocas = not necessarily mythics, ordinary ones actually exist. *³ precious = inasmuch every living planet is precious. Editor's Note: Someone disable his permission to edit the draft on UnityDocs, please! Hello, I'm McKing and I aim to write an original story with elements I've never seen put together before. Feel free to point out any mistakes you see — I'm not a native speaker, so I'm sure a few will pass me by. Sci-fi; Humor; (Brazilian) Urban Fantasy; faint shades of LitRPG. **Be warned it has a bit of an (absurd) slice-of-life beginning though the story is being subtly (I hope) worked on and eventually shifts gears (a bit). I planned to say that from the beginning, but I forgot to add it.** I hope that you enjoy it and that I can grow as a writer with your contributions. No Fixed Update Schedule. My inspiration comes in bursts and so will the Chapters. Sorry if that displeases you (I love regular updates too), but I'm afraid that's the best I can do for now. Keep in mind that it is a work in progress and things can eventually change a bit - I'll try to always note the changes. Sorry for the bad cover, it was the best my sorry skills could do! I hope you enjoy it,Mcking

Tiny Texas Time!
I keep having ideas and they're all about Texas because he's my favorite for no reason other than I just decided that he isAnyway this is more of just a smol thing for chuckles, each chapter will probably only be around 300 words or less, and it's just about Texas being America and Mexico's chaos child(Shh I know there's no reason for this to exist)(Edit: I'm from the future and I lied. This is not smol. It big)
