《The Son of Artemis Book One》Chapter 11: I Duel a Horseman

I wake up from having a weird dream where an old and powerful voice is having a conversation with Luke, lucky neither noticed me. I know it's not Hades, as although old and powerful it didn't sound like him, it actually sounded older, which only leaves a few options none of which are good. So at breakfast I sacrificed to mom to let her know and think on it at least. I noticed that the boy I brought in from last night wasn't in the pavilion so I finished my meal and headed back to the cabin to change.
When I entered, I saw there was a letter on my nightstand from mom. She just told me to be careful and that it might a Titan trying to get the lightning bolt. She also said she was nearly certain that Luke has the bolt or recently passed it to a middle man. After reading it I decided to do what I came here for and get ready for a day of beating Apollo's children in archery competitions.
We did a few competitions and I won them all, even beating the most skilled of Apollo's kids. The last one we did was a tournament style with a 1v1 for the finals. I liked that one the best because it wasn't an entire line shooting but just a head to head, the way a competition should be. I should also tell you this all happened before lunch, and Chiron wasn't there so he saw nothing. I went off to lunch and the new kid still wasn't there, so I decided I would go to the infirmary to check if he's awake yet.
When I was going there, I saw that Chiron was gambling with Dionysius, but I said nothing and just walked straight past them, ignoring them. I went in search of the rooms and saw the kid in their unconscious and left, since I found out where he was. When I was leaving I could hear a few questions from Chiron but I ignored them as well, and went off to the arena to see if anyone there was willing for a one v one.
"Hey, punk I don't think you had your initiation ceremony yet" Clarisse said, this time with five of her cabin mates backing her up.
"How many times am I going to have to tell you this Clarisse. I. Am. Not. Going. To." I said, she snarled and motioned with her hand and all of the sudden three Ares kids came up behind me.

I let out a silent curse before beating the three goons up and turning back towards Clarisse. "Like I said not going to happen". This time though she and her five siblings beside her charged me.
I started dipping and ducking their attacks before landing a few of my own and eventually knocking two of them out. So it was down to a 4 v 1. "Clarisse, you and your siblings aren't going to win this" I said calmly.
I ended up knocking out her three siblings, and severely beating her. "This isn't over yet punk" She said, when I was walking away.
Now you see, I was prepared to let it go, but honestly I started thinking I needed to make a statement. I knew what the ceremony was thanks to Annabeth telling me, so I figured why not turn the tables. "Oh I think it is" I said turning around and picking Clarisse up by her hair, and dragging her, but instead of the girls restroom I went to the men's side. I had a lot of kids following me wondering what I was going to do.
I opened up one of the stalls, and did the initiation ceremony, and let me tell you that the toilet water looked totally disgusting, I almost puked seeing it. When it was over and Clarisse ran out of the bathroom she looked murderous, but Chiron came over and stopped it. "What is the meaning of this" he asked. Clarisse and I started yelling at the same and Chiron eventually asked one at a time.
"Ok so I was walking towards the arena seeing if anyone wants to spar this afternoon, when all the sudden Clarisse and her idiot siblings try to jump me for the 6th time this week, and put me through the initiation ceremony. I knocked out her siblings and incapacitated her for fighting, meaning I won. I was going to leave it there, before she decided to open her big stupid mouth, so I gave her the said ceremony instead" I stated calmly, telling the truth. Which some Apollo's kids verified, with their lie detector like skills, alongside with other eyewitnesses.
"Well this jerk off, ambushed me and my siblings unprovoked and to top it all off he gave me a swirly just to humiliate me and my cabin further." Clarisse argued.
"I wouldn't have given a swirly if you kept your damn mouth shut" I said

I would tell you what happened next but I became to pissed at Chiron for siding against me, to really think clearly. After he was done handing out whatever punishment he was giving me I did something incredibly stupid or genius, depends on who you asked.
"I challenge you to a fight Chiron, I don't think there's anything you can teach me that my sisters already haven't." I challenged, "and if I win, whatever punishment you gave me goes out the window and is nullified" I finished
"and If I win" he said
"I'll actually go to my classes" I said the old horse pondered it over before walking off, saying no
"What afraid I'll prove myself right, and you wrong on where I should be in classes. I know my mom told you she disagreed with your choice of my placement" that sent him off.
"You know what if you think you can beat me, be in the arena in one hour" he said
An hour goes by and I am waiting in the arena, patiently, with the other half bloods, I look around and see aunt Hestia here along with mom, but no other hunters or gods for that matter. A minute goes by, then five, and then ten before the horse finally shows up. "Good I was starting to think you bailed" I said opening my arms inviting the challenge.
"Best 3 of 5 you can choose weapon order" Chiron said and I smirked
"Archery, knives, swords, hand to hand, throwing knives" I said, "in that order"
We started with Archery which I easily won, splitting all my arrows direct center of the target. I heard the Apollo kids gasp because they didn't know I could do this. Then went onto knives and well the old trainer of heroes had trouble standing after that one, I may have cut a few ligaments.
"I'm up 2 to zero Chiron, now you got to sweep the rest of the competitions" I taunted, he just sighed knowing that I was probably going to win this one too.
"Yeah yeah let's just get this over with" he said, drawing a sword
I drew Anaklusmos, and he gasped, "How how did you get Heracles's old sword, it was said to be lost" Chiron stammered
"It was never his sword to begin with. He stole it from my favorite sister, and I've been tasked with restoring the blades honor" I yelled out at him throwing my sword straight into his gut. He let out a hefted breath. "And if you ever mention that ass wipe near me again don't think I won't kill you" I said, walking up to him to draw my sword out of his gut. I did so, but mom saw how angry I was and shot the sword out of my hand.
"Perseus, wins" she stated ending the competition since it was a best of five, and I sent up my best three first and won them. I left the arena and went out into the forest to goto the beach to let out my anger. While Apollo's kids went and tended to Chiron.
Mom came to the beach an hour later and hugged me, since most of my anger was gone at this point. "Percy, I know how much you hate Heracles, and in all truthfulness I think your sister is the only one who hates him more than you do. But that still doesn't give you permission to kill someone just because they mention him" She said
"I know mom. It's just that he puts me in classes that will do me no good, and if anything make me worse at fighting, which would put my sisters at risk." I said, "and it doesn't help that he's also the bastard that trained Heracles and thinks so highly of the bastard. And I know I hate Hera, but if there's anything I can see the two of us agreeing on it would be hating Heracles" I said and she just held onto me.
"I know my son" mom said, "and I'll tell you it is the one and only thing Hera and I agree on too. and most of the gods agree with her on this, but some of those didn't agree with how she went about doing those things"
"can I go home with you I don't want to stay here anymore, at least with my sisters it is an unweighted scale" I mumbled hoping she wouldn't hear me but she did.

Lone: The Wanderer [Rewrite]
Nine-to-five. The daily grind. Life. Painful years of school. Working as a slave for some undeserving corporate big-wig. The monotonous life of unemployment. We all experience this in one way or another, and we can all conclude one thing: it's dull. Such a fact rings true even for the fabled Lone Immortus, a powerful nine-tailed Golden Foxkin. However, what would you do if your monotony was suddenly ground to a halt and you were thrown out of your comfort zone along with a young girl forgotten by time? Perhaps you might have done things differently, been more organised, immediately died, gained control of the world in a matter of days, but this is Lone's tale, not yours. Watching two insecure people struggle to survive and find their place in an unfamiliar land just might be enjoyable to witness. Who knows? One thing's for certain: it won't be an easy path for them to tread, and what could possibly be more entertaining than watching people endure hardships and grow? I know of at least eight gods that would answer with, 'Absolutely nothing.' I wonder, after seeing this journey from start to finish, how would you answer? Flesh Forger
Born a bit too late to explore the world, yet far too early to explore space, Graham Lattem is your average 61 year old man - if a little wanderlust filled. That being said, he has a happy home, loving wife, children who check up on him, and a decent retirement fund to live out his golden years modestly. Then it happens. [System Initialization Commencing…] A trick of the light, surely. [Planetary Merger Protocol 331 Enabled] Rumbling can be heard in the distance. Shouts. Cries of anguish. A horrible, ear numbing crashing sound. An earthquake. A hole opens in the middle of his home, and our protagonist falls in as a swirling vortex consumes him. Mountains as far as the eye can see greet Graham as he opens his eyes. Well, and more glowing words: [Welcome To The Macrocosm] [Good Luck] Far away from his family in a world hell-bent on his demise, how will this old, arthritis ridden man survive? Did I mention he has cancer? ===================================================================== Aiming for at least 1 chapter every other day, though there is a very big chance it will more oftentimes than not be more than that! This is my first ever story. One that I’ve been wanting to write for awhile. The system is most definitely inspired by Randidly Ghosthound and The New World, but I promise the story is different! Please point out any mistakes, as I’d love to improve! Also the warnings are just to let me experiment.

Harmless Sweetie (Rewritten)
*UPDATES EVERY MONDAY AND FRIDAY, SOMETIMES MORE IF I DON'T HAVE SCHOOLWORK. **This is tagged as comedy but I have a really stupid and peculiar sense of humor so yeah. "That's an eldritch horror." "No it's not, it's a frog." "Why does it have ten eyes and eight rows of teeth, not just that but why does it just perpetually scream with the voices of the ones whose mind it has eaten." "I'm just not that good at anatomy." *** Clailip Diancia, the tiny boy who dances along the threads of fate woven by a wicked witch. Not knowing of the plans of the witch that once scorched the lands, and unknowing of the abyss that beckons him forth. This harmless sweetie watches the stories of those around him. Ever unconscious of the turning loom of fate, always oblivious of the stories, legends, and tapestries of heroes that revolve around him as he goes, as he dances, and as he prances, leaving myths and rumours wherever he might set foot in. But as he is unaware of those whose fates have intertwined with his, he is also blind to the soul-piercing stares of the Abyss, ever calling to him.
