《The Son of Artemis Book One》Chapter 6: Lil Bro Be Missing

A few years ago, my lady came back with a young male child and proclaimed him as her adopted son and our little brother. Truth is at the time I was unsure to accept him or not. Part of my reason of joining my lady's hunt is because some pig killed my baby brother, who was defending me against his advances. After, that pig killed my brother, he tried to rape me, but I prayed for anyone to come save me, even my own father, Ares. When it got to praying to milady, a silver arrow came through the window striking the man, but not killing him. I killed him in vengeance for my baby brother, then gave my brother a proper funeral and left to join the hunt.
Now, unlike my usual attitudes, my lady and the other hunters know I have a soft spot for younger boys, who were around my baby brother's age or younger, and a fierce hatred towards older males like his killer. So when presented the opportunity of having a true baby brother after so many years I didn't know if I wanted to and was scared something may happen to him again. Do I regret my decision to accept him as my little bro, no because we pulled some great pranks on Zoë and he filled the void that many of us had.
Currently, however, I'm scared shitless. He has been out hunting for far too long and we are all beginning to worry. "Phoebe, Zoë, and Hunter please go search for your brother" Artemis asked us. Funny thing when Hunter first joined, we couldn't believe she was named that, and some had theories that she was like Sipriotes, but those were disproven by an oath on the styx.
"Yes, milady" came Zoë's reply as she dragged us off in the direction Percy went earlier. "If we find him he's going to get an earful for worrying milady" She said once we were deeper into the woods.
After about 20 minutes of following his trail, we came upon a small clearing with some broken arrows in it. The arrows belonged to Percy. I didn't hear Zoë, but she sent Hunter back to get our lady and the rest of the hunt. "we should take a look around to see if we can figure out what happened." she told me.
I started going around the perimeter and notice a set of footprints leading into the clearing, "Zoë you may want to look at this" I shouted, not knowing where she was.
She came up behind me and startled me a bit, "hmm three sets of footprints, and if I were to guess demigods, of Hermes and Ares to two of them, but the third could be a number of others or another child of Hermes" she said. After looking deeper into it, I came to the same conclusion , one set was heavy, another light and a third was in between the two.
I continued my search around with Zoë and we determined that the three demigods were either ambushed in the clearing or attacked the monsters in it and were captured, since we only saw the set of three footprints leaving the area. Which still leaves the question of where our brother could be and why there are broken arrows of his here.

"What do you think Zoë" I asked feeling at a true loss as our brother's footsteps end here
"Well, from what we know, is that there was demigods here, and they were probably surrounded, or tied up by monsters. Knowing our brother, if they were here at the same time they were, he would have killed the monsters, which would explain the broken arrows. Which only leaves the set of three footprints as our only lead to where he might be" She explained
"but why would that be, there should still be a set of his footprints, or signs of a struggle, you know he wouldn't go with anyone willingly without one of us or mom knowing" I questioned
She seemed to think for a while about this because it's true, our brother is one stubborn kid when it comes to leaving us, "he could have been taken by surprise and then carried" Zoë suggested, "but if someone did kidnap him I feel sorry for them, as they will have an angry us and our lady's wrath to deal with"
Hunter came back to me panting, and I immediately started to worry, "Zoë, Phoebe we came to the end of his trail, and they are looking for clues. Broken Arrows, Zoë said to bring everyone" She panted out. I gathered up my hunters, and packed up camp, as I let Hunter lead us to where Zoë and Phoebe were.
After about 5 minutes of solid running, we came into a clearing where Zoë and Phoebe were and it looked like they just finished a conversation. "Girls, do you have any idea as to what happened" I asked worriedly, not seeing my son.
Zoë then proceeded to explain their theory to me and lead me over to where the footsteps leaving the clearing is. I stood their thinking, my son is missing and all we have is a theory and a set of footprints to go on. "We should follow the trail it is our only lead at the moment" I said starting my way tracking the foot steps.
After, hours of following the trail it lead us all the way to camp half-blood. I swear if one of Chiron's idiot campers hurt my son, not only will he never hear the end of it, but he will feel the pain my hunt can and will give him for condoning such wretched behavior such as kidnapping.
"Girls blow the horn we have a surprise visit to make" I said, with probably a little bit of an evil undertone as they didn't complain this time.
I just got finished with an IM that Luke sent me, his quest was a failure, and he got a scar that is running down the length of his face now. Why did I let him go knowing he was unprepared. I sat there thinking, when Dionysus came up and asked me about my thoughts, "Luke's quest failed" I stated simply, "No one died though, encase your wondering"
"Good less paperwork for me" He stated quite happily. I got back to thinking and I can tell Dionysus didn't care about anyone here really, but I made a proposition, or expanded my thoughts.

"I am thinking of calling off all quest" I said, "Unless the oracle calls for it"
"Good even less paperwork for me, I say you do it." He said, with more excitement than before, "Now come on Chiron and lets see me beat you in Pinochle"
Luke just entered camp with Mason, a son of Ares, and Chris, an unclaimed demigod, but what caught me by surprise though is that they were carrying a young boy with them and Mason looked annoyed by the fact. But what worried me even more was the bow he had with him, looked like one that Artemis's hunt would use, "Luke who is this" I asked tiredly not wanting to deal with whatever his answer is going to be.
"Well, we don't know. We found him in the forest on the way here and brought him with us, considering he was surrounded by gold dust" He answered, and I knew he was lying, but the others weren't rating him out.
"Fine then, take him to the infirmary and have Annabeth or someone feed him some ambrosia periodically, till he wakes" I said taking a closer look at the child he was carrying. What I observed nearly gave me a heart attack, although he was unconscious, I could tell a few things, like he was incredibly fit like he's been living in the woods his whole life, his hair was a darker version of Lady Artemis's, which only made me worry more, he smelled of the forest and sea, and had a powerful aura to go along with the strong scent. I'm hoping my suspicions aren't true, but it could be possible that Luke just kidnapped a godling, and to make it worse, Artemis is the possible mother of the child.
I went back to the big house, and started playing Pinochle with Dionysus. I was winning and doing well, nearly forgetting about my theories until I heard the hunters horn sound. "Should we have been expecting the hunt" I asked Dionysus quickly.
"No we shouldn't be expecting my sister or her pesky little followers" he said annoyed, but then grew a worried expression, "do you know why they are here" He asked with nervousness in his voice
"Would I ask you if I had known" I stated stepping out my wheelchair.
Of course, our questions were answered moments later when an angry goddess started yelling at us, "Where is my son Chiron. I know he is here and that he was kidnapped by three of your pesky and annoying campers" she shouted. Both Dionysus and I paled when we heard that.
"Do you know anything about this" Dionysus whispered asked me.
"No, but Luke did return with a kid he said he found in the woods, and I had slight suspicions, but no confirmations till now on them" I answered.
By then Lady Artemis had made it to the big house and for the first time I saw scenes of how she will murder everyone here playing in her eyes, which included Dionysus and I. "Now, Chiron you will tell me where he is and who kidnapped him, or you can start expecting a decrease in your camps population" She stated coldly, and in a tone that would make Poseidon and her Father jealous.
"I do not know who you are talking about, lady Artemis" I stated quite blandly
"I am talking about my son, you old horse. I know he is here, so don't lie to me"
Dionysus, being the idiot he is decided to comment, "After all these years you finally break your maidenhood vow" he chuckled
Artemis turned and gave him a glare that made him shit himself, "He's adopted you dimwit, how else would I have been able to raise him without violating the ancient laws" she said in a tone that dropped them temperature a few degrees.
Now, I have no clue how the campers were not hearing her shouting, but Luke ran up to me oblivious of the situation, "Hey Chiron the boy we found in the woods is about to wake up".
Poor Luke, I didn't even have time to warn him before he was shoot with about 30 arrows pinning him to the side of the big house. He looked over at me shocked at what just happened, until Artemis went up and slapped him clear across the face so hard that I was almost certain she was close to breaking his neck as his scar opened back up. "Where is my son that you kidnapped, you stupid boy" she said with nothing but hatred.
"I...I don't know what you are talking about lady Artemis" he stammered
"Don't lie to me or next time I'll allow my hunters to kill you" she said just as arrows pierced his arms, feet and knees, not hitting anything vital.
"He's...he's in the infirmary" he whimpered
Now if looks could kill, Luke would be nothing but a pile of ash, "Now why would he be in the infirmary, boy" and I'm pretty sure the temperature dropped to winter levels even though it's summer.
"we knocked him out and brought him here" Luke stated gaining some confidence back, "we knew he was a demigod so we brought him to safety"
I decided to intervene before I lost a camper, "Lady Artemis surely we can discuss this inside, and I'll be certain to punish Luke appropriately for kidnapping your son"
She sneered at Luke, before waving him off, and telling him to never go near her son again.
