《Chasing Rain ✓》Epilogue

Damien swirled the Bertoux Brandy in his hand as he sat in the bar of his house. He looked at the liquid swirling just like his life was.
He has lost everything. All his purpose and most importantly his life.
He threw the goblet as he say it shatter into pieces. He started picking up the pieces while crushing them in his palm to feel the pain but nothing.
He felt nothing.
"Ahhh..."
He screamed as he ran his bloodied hand through his hair.
He wanted to do something but what. He didn't know that.
"Brother."
He heard a voice from the back as he turned around and glared at Dominic. If it should have been someone else then then should have fled but not Dominic.
He knew his brother needed him. He knew he has to be there for his brother before he does something reckless just like Rain.
"Leave"
Damien barked but instead of taking steps back Dominic moved forward in Damien's direction. He bent down and placed a hand on his shoulder.
"You need to calm down and move on. Maybe not right now but someday you have to.", Dominic stated.
A loud noise was heard as Dominic's face was turned around and upper lip busted.
Damien punched him. But Dominic didn't react. He expected it. Maybe even worst. If taking out his anger and pain on him could do Damien any good then he would let him do that.
"What do you know? You have your wife and daughter.", Damien shouted in frustration. He envied his brother at that moment. He had everything while he had nothing.
Dominic sighed.
"What happened was no one's fault. Are you hearing me Damien Black? No one's fault.", Dominic said in an equally frustrated tone.
Damien got up as so to Dominic.
Damien held Dominic by his collar his eyes glistening with unshed tears. Dominic was scared by the look Damien was giving not just to him but to everyone. As if, if it was up to him then he would burn down the whole world without remorse and that what scared Dominic.
"Dad?"
A small voice was heard in the room. Both the men turned there eyes in the direction of the voice.
Ray stood there with her eyes wide and scared.
Damien immediately let go of Dominic as Dominic rushed in Ray's direction and picked her up.
Ray tied her hands around Dominic's neck making Damien's heart to clench.
"Amy"
He whispered softly as he took a deep breath.

Dominic moved in the direction of his brother who looked broken. For the first time his face wasn't conflicting with the emotions he was feeling.
"Want to hold her?", Dominic asked Damien as Damien eyed the five year old girl in Dominic's arm.
Damien nodded his head as Dominic passed Ray in his arm. Ray didn't complain.
Damien held Ray with utter care just like he did with Amber. Ray wrapped her arms around his neck.
Damien placed a kiss at the crown of her head thinking it was Amber. A sob left his mouth as he held on to her for what seemed like hours.
Dominic just stood there and looked at his brother breaking down. Be couldn't stop as he shed a few of his own tears.
Finally Dominic took a sleeping Ray from Damien who stood there frozen as Ray was being taken away from him. Just like his Amy was. He wanted to shoot the person who was taking his child away from him.
But when Ray went back in Dominic's arms, he realised it wasn't his daughter. His daughter was six feet under the ground.
"I am going to sleep.", Damien stated though he knew sleep won't come to him.
He needed sometime alone so he made his way to Rain's room. He wanted peace and only one person was his solace.
His late Rain.
He opened the window to let the fresh breeze to come in to intensify Rain's intoxicating scent.
Suddenly he heard a rustling noise. He turned towards towards the source of the noise. To see on the night stand a diary was kept and below it their was a paper.
He picked up the the diary. It was old.
Above it there was a sticky note.
Dear Damien
If you feel lonely then read my mother's diary she wrote for me in her days of cancer whenever her body allowed.
I can't promise you anything as it was meant for me. But still maybe it helps.
Rain :)
Damien looked at the paper in his hand and it looked like a letter. He didn't open the diary. It was something between mother and daughter and he didn't want to invade in it.
After all they were together now.
He opened the paper to look it was actually addressed to him. She wrote a letter for him.
Dear Damien
I won't ask you how are you doing!
Rather I will tell you how I am doing.
I am at peace with my parents and Amber.

Amber
I finally met her again. She was sitting with me when I was writing this letter. Infact she was talking to me.
I am not lying.
Trust me she was.
I wanted to listen more of her. She called me momma for the first time and I just wanted her to go on and on. Thus, I left with her.
I am not sorry for my actions. I just kept my promise of being with my baby for eternity.
Ma and papa are also good. While I was writing this letter, well you can say that dad was very angry. He didn't want me to write anything to you.
You are still to win his forgiveness Damien. You still have to.
Also Amber is saying hello to you and she also called you dad. Hope you could hear her.
Life is too short for regrets Damien and I have always regretted most of my decisions but not this time. I am leaving with my baby.
People will think I am dying by suicide. But I don't see it that way. I am just moving past the hell and heaven and going somewhere beautiful.
Even Marcus came to me yesterday night telling me that the new world changed him as a person and begged for my forgiveness. I didn't plan to leave this world with grudges so I forgave him.
Tell nana and nanu, their granddaughter was extremely strong. She fought from this cruel world for about 36 hours. But you know how difficult it is to live without hope and my hopes laid in my Amber.
Also Amber is saying that you were the best father she could have. Dad and Amber had already made a party against me leaving me pouting.
I am tired now Damien and I need to save some energy to play with Amber or your Amy. So I will stop.
In the end I will just say I truly loved you and what I did, I did because I wanted to do it. I ain't betraying because I know we will meet again and then we will have an eternity together.
We will Damien, won't we?
With love
By my mom-dad, your Amy and me ( your Rain )
Damien laughed as he looked at the letter. Tears fell down on the paper blotting through the pen ink.
He didn't know that his angel was in so much pain, going through a mental torture that she was imagining everyone.
Damien wanted to give the answer to Rain's last question but not from here.
He need to visit her grave.
He went in his room and got ready. He dressed himself up in a pink shirt and white trouser pants.
He went downstairs and picked a random car as he drove till the cemetery. He picked up two red roses on the way and asked the salesman to coat the petals border with golden sparkle.
He reached there graves. They were adjacent to each other. He placed a red rose on each of there grave as he bent down on the ground not caring that his white trouser pants were getting dirt and mud on them.
He looked up to see the sun peeking through the clouds with a purple and orange tint almost giving a soft pink hue while the moon was on verges of melting.
"Hi", Damien stated.
His voice heavy. He opened his mouth and them closed it. He didn't know what to say.
"I promised you angel that we will all be together. Right?", he asked but he got no respond.
He took a deep breath as he continued.
"I always thought I was strong both mentally and physically but you proved me wrong. You were stronger than me. You kept your promise.", Damien said.
His hands were getting clammy as he furiously wiped his tears from the back of his hand.
A strong wind blew and Damien's eyes widen.
"No. You got me wrong. I am not ashamed of crying. But if I start crying right now then I won't be able to talk to you.", Damien assured.
"You are right Rain. You never died because of suicide. You just walked or may I say waltz from one life to another.", Damien said while chuckling.
He tried removing the thin layer of dust that was on Rain's grave.
"I don't want to be without you. I want to live with you both. Wherever.", Damien said.
He looked around for a moment. All happy and sad memories flashing in front of his eyes.
"Welcome me in your world angel.", Damien whispered softly.
A loud noise was heard. The birds flew out of their nest as people started coming out of there house.
Damien laid lifeless. With his head in Rain's lap and his left arm around Amber's grave.
He shot himself.
Gone was the hell and heaven as Damien chased Rain.
Now maybe they could be together for eternity.
Because one life is too less for love.
