Obsession can be a sort of toxic but I love it
-Damien
I looked ahead of me as I started the car. The weather was a bit chilly but I didn't mind it at all. Well we can say I have been thrown inside the refrigerator as punishment quite a few times in past.
I looked from the corner of my eye to see Amy was trying to tell something to Rain and Rain was constantly nodding her head.
I was trying to understand what she was trying to tell but to no avail. The only thing I am able to understand is that when she combs through her hair it means she wants her mother.
"You know we should teach her sign language.", I said as this thought suddenly got in my head.
"I know. We can start it when she turns four. She will start schooling also after that.", Rain said.
I got the part that Amy would learn sign language next year but about her schooling I didn't like it one bit. Isn't it too early?
In between we can at the traffic light post and I turned off the car.
Now I could give them my full attention.
"Can't we wait for one or two years more before she actually starts schooling?", I asked.
I looked at Rain to see she has raised a perfect brow with a look daring me to say anything. I looked down at Amy to see she was enjoying it.
"Education is important and I am having no arguments on it.", Rain said sternly.
It was today only I realised that Rain could be stern. She may be timid and shy but when it comes to Amy she can be anything.
True to her words she didn't turn back even once while leaving the park though she knew full well that Amy was crying but she wanted to prove her point to make Amy realise her mistake and she did make her realise.
When I held her hand when she was trying to hail for a cab. She was trembling but not in fear but in pain. It pained her the same as it pained Amber when she scolded her.
Also about the way she cried in my chest back in the park I know she didn't only cry for Amber rather she was crying for everything and I was more than glad that I could hold her at that moment.
But one question still lingered in my mind what is the past she cried for?
You want me to trust you and give you a chance so don't get in my private life. When I will start trusting you enough I will tell it to you myself.
Rain's words ringed in my head. I sighed I had to give her time.
"Damien the light has turned. We can move."
I heard Rain's voice and it was only then I realise I was suppose to move. I again ignited the car and made my way to the mall.
"But I want her to be home schooled so that she is in front of our eyes and safe.", I said.
"You dare not think that way Damien Black. She need a normal life. She isn't a caged bird.", Rain said angrily. Quite offended by what I said.
I looked in her direction and was blown away. I knew Rain was beautiful but at that moment she looked breathtaking.
The rays of sun were directly falling on her platinum blonde hair making them shine like diamonds. Her pale skin had a red tint on it because of the fury she held. Making her look all more magnificent. I could see the slight frickle near her nose making her look cute. Her blue eyes were lively. Deeper than the depths of the ocean. Holding a sort of pain that she was yet to share. In all she looked like an angel without a halo.

My angel
"Damien look straight."
I heard Rain shriek and only at that moment I realised that I was driving. Sh*t we could have met with an accident.
Get a grip Damien.
I looked ahead of me as I muttered a small sorry. Soon the mall came in view and I parked the car in the parking.
I got down the car first and then helped Amber and Rain out. Amy's hand were clasped onto Rain's right leg clinging on to her for her dear life.
I picked up my baby girl as she tied her hands around my neck. Her eyes shinning with excitement. It has been around two months she hasn't been out.
I looked behind to see that my men had also parked their car and were prepared to follow us.
"Is it necessary for them to follow?", Rain asked. I could hear the hesitation and embarrassment in her voice. She wasn't comfortable.
I sighed. She needs to get used to it all by now. I took her hand and lead her inside the mall.
"Damien..."
"Relax angel. You won't even know they are following you. They are there for our safety. So let it be that way.", I stated and saw Rain nod.
We entered the mall as the people recognised us they wanted to give us space so that we could move ahead of them. Fear filled in their eyes and was clearly visible in them. I love this fear as this is what I live for.
"Damien put Amber down. She should walk a bit.", Rain said softly as I put Amber down who let's say was not ready. As even after we put her on the ground, her tiny little hands were still around my neck.
"Amber let him go. Otherwise no ice cream.", Rain said and Amy immediately let me go.
I chuckled.
There is a lot I need to learn from Rain. I looked at her to see her smiling fondly at Amber who was busy fumbling with the front golden zip of her black jumpsuit.
"Come baby.", Rain said as Amber wrapped her left hand around her middle finger. I thought we could start moving but she surprised me by wrapping her right hand around my pinky finger.
I looked at her with awe. She wanted me maybe not as much as her mother but enough. It was more than anything I could ask for.
She looked at me and passed a toothy grin. She was happy. I looked at Rain to see she also had a small smile on her face. She even looked happy. This was enough to make me the happiest man on Earth at that moment.
"Shall we?", I asked and Rain just nodded her head while Amy had different plans. She started rushing forward.
Rain threw her head back and laughed. That sight made my heart skip not one but few beats. It was the first time I have seen her laugh. It was like soothing music to my ears.
"You aren't that strong baby. Even if you pull me, you can't pull Damien.", Rain stated in a fact tone. Amber looked back and pouted.
So f*cking cute!
"Rain I think if we wait any longer than our little koala would turn into an unhappy bear.", I stated.
Rain nodded her head as now we three walked together to the first floor.
I decided that we would first buy a few toys for Amber and then maybe clothes and other stuff.
"Toy store Amy.", I said as she squealed. Just her squeal has no sound. I hope she could speak.

After her operation. I talked to the doctor and took her larynx box reports and send it to the best doctor in the world but all of them said the same thing that there was no hope.
We entered the toy shop to see there were all sorts of toys. But what was I expecting, a show of weapons?
All of the toys store staff maintained a good distance from us and even the manager at the counter was shaking. Was I that intimidating at that moment? Even Rain felt uncomfortable with the different sort of treatment towards us and also there fright towards us and it was very annoying. It was the first time their fear towards me was annoying. Couldn't they understand I just wanted to spend some quality time with my daughter and the angel starting next to me without any disturbance.
But Amy was far too young to understand that.
Amy left both Rain and my hand as she started exploring the store. Her hands touched different racks. She was utterly enjoying it. I let her be herself and explore the place as I diverted my sight towards the beauty standing next to me.
I looked at Rain to see she wasn't looking at anything specifically rather her mind was somewhere else. She was deep in her own thought like something was troubling her. I know that there is something that is troubling her for the past few days rather I think her whole life and I'm very curious to know about it but I need to be patient otherwise I won't ever get the trust of her like I want. There is more to her.
I just don't want to be the father to her daughter rather I want to be someone special to her. I want to be her everything like I don't know how I don't even know if it's love but she has started becoming my everything.
Amber and Rain have started becoming a family I never had rather I could say I never had a family to start with.
"Rain everything okay? ", I asked her.
It looked like she was woken up from a daydream and had just realised about her surroundings. She looked at me and nodded her head.
I just noticed something she talks too little. I don't know if this is the case just with me or she talks with everyone this less but I've even noticed another thing that whenever she is talking to someone she doesn't know or isn't comfortable talking with she would start tapping her feet and would start stammering as if it is a sort of defence mechanism.
"I will go and take a look at Amber I don't want her running out of the store without our knowledge. Now do we?", Rain said as she started walking away from me.
"You mother and daughter have a bad habit of running away. Don't you? I asked teasingly.
"Guess the flight hormone is very high in the Carter family especially in the women.", she replied curtly.
I sighed. Women and there mode swings. I try to make the environment lighter but I guess I was not capable of doing it or I really have a very bad sense of humour.
I stood there for a moment or two but then I decided to go and check on Rain and Amber. When I went there I saw Rain saying something to Amber while Amy was putting back the toy she has picked up I didn't understand why she would do that?
"Why keeping back the toy Amber? Don't you like it or your mum said something to you?", I asked as I picked up the toy back from the rack I looked at it to see it was a drone, a radio control drone.
"Do you want it?", I asked Amy as she shook her head while looking at Rain. My suspicion was correct. Rain has definitely said something to her.
I looked at Rain with an eyebrow raised waiting for an justification. She looked at me and sighed.
"It is too expensive Damien. We don't have to spoil her that much. She is just three years old. She won't be able to fly it even. It is better we don't buy it for her.", Rain said.
"Jesus Rain! Even if I buy this whole damn store that won't create a dent in my bank account it is just a drone and even if she cannot fly it then I will fly it for her. It is okay. Let her buy it.", I said in frustration.
Rain looked at me and then at Amber who was hopefully looking at her mother.
Rain let go of another sigh as I smiled in victory.
"Fine she can have this toy but then no other toy for her. Only one at a time. Fine Amber?", she stated to me and I looked at Amber at the same time and she eagerly nodded her head and took the drone from my hand and started admiring it.
We all went to the counter together as I paid for the drone and we left the store.
Next we went to a few other stores like Zara and Forever 21 and picked up a few clothes for Rain and Amber.
Rain let me pay for Amber's clothes but payed for her clothes on her own. She wouldn't let me pay. How much I insisted but she didn't.
The girls got tired pretty easily so we treated ourselves with a few drinks at Starbucks and then we had red sauce pasta while Amy preferred having white sauce pasta after going to one more shop Rain gave up. It was quite amusing to see her begging me to go back home. I thought girls love shopping but it was completely opposite with Rain but well when it comes to my angel she is quite full of surprises.
We got back inside the car and I decided to take them both to a nice restaurant to have lovely dinner but he had different plans.
"I will cook dinner for both of you back at home. It has been quite a while since I have cooked a meal for someone and you both can help me in that. Also it will be fun.", Rain said.
I immediately said yes. Getting more time to spend with them. Hell yeah!
But what she said next made me literally want to kiss her hard. The line I have waited for her to say. Making me all nervous and giddy.
"Let's tell your Amy the truth tonight."
