Nothing stands above the family.

I looked around myself to find my most reliable four men standing with their head hung low. This raged me even more.

One work, I handed them to do one easy thing and they couldn't do that. For god's sake what should I do of them.

Dante, David, Antony and Pear, all stood there without uttering a word. I looked at my watch to see that it was already 1:30 am. But sleep didn't seem coming for me. Well it wasn't unusual. At times I doubt I have insomnia but deep within I know the reason of why don't I sleep.

"Speak you fools.", I hissed while grinding my teeth.

"Boss we can't find Piper's location. It is as if he has vanished. No CCTV footage of him can be found. We have our best man investigating this matter.", Pear stated while wiping the sweat on his forehead.

Is it the best they can do. Piper is very important for me. If I don't capture Piper then I am putting Rain and Amber directly in danger. Not like that wimp can do anything but I can't take chances.

"Boss....", Antony was cut by a phone call. It was Dante's call. I glared at him.

"Sir it's from the investigator.", Dante stated and I nodded my head in understanding.

As Dante talked I let my thought roam. I am a father now. This is something that I can't believe. Moreover my daughter is living under the same roof as me. The first time I saw Amber I promised to myself that I won't be like my father. I would be came a true father figure. Right now I have nothing to say about Rain. She is the mother of my daughter and I don't know what relation she shares with me.

"Boss I have good news. Piper has been captured and is being sent here. He would reach us in next two hours.", Dante stated and I sighed. Thank God he has been captured.

"Tie him in the basement.", I told Dante and he nodded his head.

"Boss the Rosa are creating a lot of problem in Italy.", David stated.

"Capture Lance for me. He is handling Italy.", I told them.

"But boss he is a very important member of Rosa. It wont be easy to capture him.", Antony stated.

"So you are telling me that you can't capture him. Are my men this useless? I want Lance by the end of this week. By any means.", I snapped.

My patience is slipping with these fools. Well I know capturing Lance will be difficult but it isn't impossible. If I capture Lance then I will be able to control the drug market of Italy. Well I already have a control of it but this will strengthen my grip over the market.

"Damien, Damien save me.", I heard a woman's voice and the softness and sweetness in the voice made me realize that this can be the voice of only one woman, Rain.

I quickly got on my feet as my heart pounded in my chest. Why was I feeling worried? I didn't stop to question my feeling as I rushed out of the study with my men following me.

I crossed the corridor and made my way towards Rain's room. The door was open and she wasn't inside. Next I looked in Amber's room to find that she wasn't there also. She must be downstairs. I thought to myself.

As I made my way towards the stairs I felt something tiny collide with me. My hands on reflex went around her waist.

I looked at Rain who was tightly holding my shirt with her eyes closed. I could see the tears that were rolling down her soft cheeks. Slowly she opened her eyes and her oceanic blue eyes looked in my grey ones.

A sigh left her mouth. Before I could ask her anything I heard a voice from the back.

"You whore come back here.", I heard an annoyingly loud voice. As soon as she heard this voice Rain gasped and hugged me tighter. Her small form was trembling and this irked something in me.

"Please save me.", I heard her muffled voice. I put one of my arm around her waist and another around her head in a way that I saw was comforting.

Leo came to a stop in front of me. I kept my face blank. I removed Rain's hand from my shirt and made her look at me. She kept her head low and looked at the ground. I put my finger below her chin and lifted her face. Her doe eyes looked at me with fear not of me but of the other person.

"What happened?", I asked her softly. I heard a gasp from the back but one hard glare from my side made them shut up.

"Boss you don't know, this slut tried to attack me and kicked my groin.", Leo stated coldly.

"Did I ask you?", I snapped at him to which he audibly gulped and shook his head.

"I asked you a question Rain.", I told Rain patiently.

But before she could answer the door at the back opened with a bang. We all turned around to see a tearful Amber coming out of the room.

"Amber..", Rain and I stated in union. Rain let go of me and rushed in Amber's direction and I followed her closely.

Rain bent down at Amber's level and I crouched next to her.

"What is wrong baby?", Rain asked Amber but her voice was trembling. I didn't know the reason why but I would love to find it out.

Amber pushed herself in Rain's awaiting arms as Rain gently rubbed her back trying to soothe her. Once Amber has calmed down, she looked in Rain's direction and started combing her platinum blonde locks then she took Rain's hand and joint it with her own.

I was more than confuse. I didn't know what she meant and at that moment I felt a new feeling that is helplessness. I have never felt this helpless in my entire life.

"What does she mean?", I asked Rain.

"She wants to sleep with me.", Rain stated while running her hand through her messed up hair.

Rain tried picking Amber up but it was a difficult task for her. So instead I picked up Amber. But as soon as I stood up with Amber in my arms, she started trashing and throwing her tiny legs and arms. I was surprised and I didn't know what to do.

"Give her to me.", Rain stated as she took Amber from my arms and as soon as she went in her mother's arm she calmed down. At that moment I felt extremely jealous of Rain. Neither I can understand what my daughter says not can I hold her, just great!

Rain started making the way to her room with Amber in his arm. I decided to follow her.

"Boss what should we do?", Pear asked stopping me mid way. I completely forgot that they were standing there.

"All of you go and wait for me in the basement.", I stated coldly as I turned on my heels making way towards Rain's room.

I stopped at the door to listen to Rain's melodious voice as she sang a lullaby for Amber while one hand patting her forehead and another one patting her chest softly. That sight made something stir within me.

The pale moonlight made the features of Rain look more beautiful. It was then only I noticed that she was wearing a sleeveless black nightgown that stopped mid thigh showing of her milky skin. The gown made her look even more smaller but I was mesmerized. I have never seen such a beautiful woman in my whole life.

Once Amber had drifted off to sleep I entered the room. Feeling my presence Rain turned in my direction. But what shocked me was that she was glaring at me. I will be truthful that her glare won't even scare a fly but I wanted to know the reason behind that glare. Till now what I have got to know about Rain is that she is a very timid person and if she is glaring at me then something is very wrong.

"What happened?", I tried to ask her as softly as possible but my voice came out to be a bit gruff.

"You want to know what hap-appened. You said you wil-l keep us sa-afe but you can't even pro-tect u-us in the hou-se.", Rain whispered the last part brokenly. Her words made my chest clench painfully.

"What happened? Tell me and I would make everything right.", I stated.

Rain let go of a fake laugh nothing evil just completely broken just like her face that had tears streaming down. Rain furiously wiped the tears from the back of her hand.

"You know what I don't want to explain anything to you. Please I am extremely tired so let me sleep.", Rain stated making me clench my jaw. She turned around but I caught her by her upper arm.

"Ahhh....", Rain cried making me immediately withdraw my hand. It was at that moment I saw big finger marks like bruise on her arm. I stepped closer to her as I examined the bruise. Rain didn't utter a single word.

That bruise made me see red. No one can get of the hook after hurting my family. The thought of someone touching her already left a burn in my heart but hurting her take things to the next level.

"Who did it?", I tried to sound composed but I was falling off. I need to shed some blood.

"That guy w-who came run-unning behi-nd me tried t-to rape m-e.", Rain stated as a sob left her mouth. Her sob broke something within me.

I felt enraged not on others but also on myself. What she said was true. If I can't protect my woman and daughter in my house then how will I protect them in public. I pinched the bridge of my nose.

Rain was still crying trying to control her sob. I didn't know what to say because I have never cared about a woman crying but today's situation was different. So I let my instincts take over.

I moved closer to her and held her in my arms. She gripped on my shirt as she cried.

"I was so scared and it was all your fault.", Rain stated while hitting my chest softly showing her anger and frustration.

"Shhhh...", I cooed her as I rubbed her back just as Rain rubbed Amber's back when she was crying. Finally she calmed down as I made her look in my eyes.

"Go to sleep Rain. I will handle the matter and I promise you that something like it won't happen again.", I said tugging few strands of her hair behind her ears.

"This is the last chance I am giving you.", Rain muttered. I gave her a cutting nod.

"I assure you I won't disappoint you this time.", I vowed not only to her but to even myself.

"Good night.", I said curtly as Rain muttered a good night to me before I left the room.

I padded towards the basement. I needed blood at that moment and that so to of someone specific. I entered the basement.

"Boss....", Antony started but I didn't stop to know his question as I directly made my way towards Leo.

I landed a punch on his face and I could hear the sicking sweet sound of bones cracking. I broke his nose. He fell on the ground by the sudden impact as I repeatedly punch him.

I stopped when he was at the verges of passing out. I got him by his collar as I made him stand up. His eyes were half open as I pushed him on the chair.

"Boss forg-ive me. I didn't kn-ow she was your wo-man.", Leo stammered.

"You made the worst decision of your life by touching my woman.", I hissed.

He audibly gulped as I took out my gun from my back pocket.

"You knew I can become your worst nightmare. Still you tried something this foolish.", I stated as I inserted the silencer on my gun.

"Pl-lease boss for-rgive me.", Leo begged.

Pathetic!

First I shot his right leg making him scream. The scream was like music to my ears. Next I moved to his left leg. Then his right arm, then left arm, his abdomen and finally I pointed it own his forehead.

"Good bye.", I stated before inserting a bullet right in the middle of his forehead.

"No one messes with Damien Black's family.", I stated while turning around and all my four men furiously nodded their head.
