Before Jack knew what hit him there were workman up at the gate installing the security system and Cameras, Lisa had also asked for three or four cameras to be spread around the front of the Ranch House and Barn area.

Jack was in the kitchen when Amy and Lyndy came in.

"May I hold my great Granddaughter please Amy"

"Of course you can, you don't need to ask Grampa ".

Amy put her gently in Jack's arms, "Oh she is adorable Amy".

"She is and believe it or not she slept all night, that is not normal for a new born surely, is it Lou!!!".

"Well not normally, but every baby is different, if you get worried talk to Dr Virani ".

Amy got herself some breakfast as she still liked eating with the family.

Amy went to her old room after Jack had left for the morning, she fed Lyndy and changed her then put her in the bed for a nap. She pulled out her Laptop and logged on to the same Realtor she used before and looked at a 60 mile radius instead of 10, she didn't care if she had to leave Hudson to get what she wanted. After that talk/dream whatever it was with her mum she felt more confident. It had been 7 months since Ty went missing and they still had no Idea what had happened to him, Amy remembered her dream and whether it was real or not her mum never mentioned that Ty was with them, but within herself she knew he was still alive somewhere.

As she was looking at the web page a Ranch caught her eye, it was 700 acres, 4 bedrooms, stables for 12 horses, Hay Barn, Outdoor exercise area and Pastures. She then noticed it was a bank repossession from 2 days ago and still had 30 breeding Horses on site. She phoned them and explained she was interested, but the person she spoke to was a bit short with her and told her when they would Auction it off.

Amy put the phone down then phoned again but this time asked for the manager.

After speaking with him and after she said she doesn't do Auctions but she was interested in the property the manager was very interested. They made an appointment for the following day at the Ranch so Amy could look around it.

Amy came out of her room with the baby monitor ,Lyndy was asleep and surrounded by pillows just in case.

Lou asked if she was okay and Amy nodded yes then got a coffee and sat at the table.

Lou knew something was going on,

"Amy, what's going on, I can read you like a book and there's something on your mind".

"Yeah there is Lou, I've found a Ranch that's just what I need and the price is just right".

"So what's wrong if its what you want".

"Well its basically the same thing that I was going to build on my supposed Land, but it means leaving the Area and Hudson ".

"Ohhh!! How far away ".

"Well when I found it I fell in love with it, it was advertised as 20 miles from Hudson put someone put it on wrong, it's actually 60 miles from Hudson west of Okatoks so a quick visit wouldn't really work".

"Obviously you'd rather build on your land and stay nearer".

"Yeah, That's what I was hoping for.".

"Did Grampa give you a deed for the Land Amy".

"Yes he did, and I looked through it and there's nothing saying I can't build my own Ranch, but he says No and I don't really want to go against him ".

"Well you could build one and there's nothing he could do about it Amy".

"I know Lou, but he'd never speak to me again if I went against him.

Could you look after Lyndy tomorrow Lou as I have an Appointment to view the Ranch at 10am. Don't worry if you can't, I'll just take her with me".

"I'm sorry Amy, but I have an appointment tomorrow at 10am too.".

"Not to worry Lou, it was short notice anyway.".

"Are you n Lyndy coming to dinner tonight ".

"No, not tonight Lou, I'm going out with Lyndy tonight, thanks for the invitation though ".

Amy went to go and check on Lyndy as she realized she had brought the wrong part of the monitor out with her earlier, while she was in her old room she heard Jack come in through the monitor.

"Hi Lou, you look deep in thought ".

"Yeah, well Amy's found a Ranch she's fell in love with but the problem is it's the other side of Okatoks 60 miles away. It also means you'll lose the income she was bringing in for Heartland ".

"Well we'll manage, I mean there's the Cattle and the percentage you pay from the Dude Ranch Lou".

"Oh, Errrrrrr, yeah".

"You have been giving Heartland a percentage from the Dude Ranch right Lou, Just like Amy has ".

"Err, well not exactly Grampa ".

"Why not Lou, you've Just left it up to Amy to keep us going while you've been making all the profits. ".

"Well when me and dad were partners he said that was up to Amy as she took over from Mum so not to bother, then we split up the partnership and Lisa took his place, I completely forgot about it".

Amy was angry about what she just heard, now she understands why Lou was always on her back about getting clients even when she was trying to get her School work done, all the Clinics she kept trying to arrange and she was only 16 yrs old working her arse off even up to now for 8 years.

Amy came out with Lyndy and her bag, then made a point of asking Lou to pass the monitor.

"Oh Lou could you pass the monitor over please, cant believe I brought the base monitor out here this morning instead of the other way round, ( Lou suddenly looked horrified that Amy had heard everything) thanks Lou.

See you tomorrow sometime byee".

Amy went out the door , and back to the loft.

"Do you think she heard Grandpa ".

"Ohhh Yes Lou, Amy would of heard every word, after you left her to work her ass off while still in School. Oh, I hope you've saved a lot of that money you didn't help Heartland with.

"I'll have to talk to my partner Grandpa".

"Yeahhhhh, you do that Lou".

Amy was fuming, she realized just how much like their Dad Lou was.

All that time 15 yrs old to now she was struggling with trying to do school work and work with her clients Horse's to help the family Ranch and she couldn't build her own Ranch and Lou wasn't even helping to keep Heartland going, just happily left it to her.

This had definitely made up her mind, yes Lou was there for her as her sister when she needed her but she still felt betrayed.

If this Ranch is as good as it seems she'll take it if she can get the loan, get away from her Controlling Dad and Selfish Sister, even her somewhat overprotective Grandfather, Freedom.
