I was enjoying an afternoon jog around my neighborhood. Seeing as I had some free time I took it upon myself to workout a bit. It helps keep me get through any pent up emotions and gets my mind off of everything going on. After yesterday I'm not sure how to go up from here, it's only a matter of time before I'm found and we have no idea how I'm going to reach the full potential of my powers. I called grams earlier to schedule weekly visits for magic lessons and Jac's aunt is always constantly giving me tips on how to control them.
Everything just seems abnormal now, like in just 24 hours things have changed and definitely not for the better. Even after our heart to heart Stefan continues to keep me at arms length, more so now than before. He's being so distant, he doesn't answer my calls, he only texts me when he's about to show up or needs to tell me something, he can't even be in a room alone with me for more than 20 minutes before he finds something else to do. I trust Stefan wholeheartedly, but I can't help but feel like he's keeping things from me.
I just want to spend as much time as I can with him incase I do have to disappear for awhile and I hate to say this but going away doesn't seem like a bad idea. My sister's had this escape plan ready ever since I was found after being kidnapped. The people who helped her find me had been close friends to our parents and we used to play with their kids whenever they came to visit or vice versa.
I haven't seen them in awhile which is a good thing I suppose, but Tiare and I still keep in contact with them and always make it a priority to help them whenever we could.
As I'm jogging up my driveway my phone starts ringing cutting off the music I was listening to.
I take it out of my pocket to see that Damon was calling me.
"Hello?" I answer the call on the third ring.
"Aria! You answered, great" Damon greets energetically on the other line. I roll my eyes already knowing he needed something.
"What do you need Damon" I sigh continuing my path to my front door. I grab the mail on the way up there.
"Alright, straight to the point then" he mumbles lowly in my ear. After entering the house I lock the door before making my way to the kitchen fridge.

"I don't have all day, Damon" I urge him to continue whilst grabbing a water bottle from the fridge. I take a few sips before twisting the cap back on.
"Right well" He clears his throat anxiously as I lean against the counter. I place the phone between my ear and shoulder as I go through the mail.
No. No. Tiare's. Invitation. No. Mine. No. Pay check. No. N- Classified information? I'll have to check that out later.
"I'm only telling you this before your kiss up goody two shoes of a boyfriend blabs to you..." I wait patiently for Damon to tell whatever it is.
"I turned Vicki Donovan out of boredom, lost her, there's a limited amount of time before she's running around killing people, your boyfriend took my ring again so I'm stuck here, Elena knows, and Vicki is probably at the Gilbert house trying to turn baby Gilbert into vampire chow" Damon rambles out on after the next causing me to drop the mail and my jaw in pure shock.
I close my eyes and lean my head against the counter as I use one hand to massage my temple.
"That silence doesn't sound too promising" I hear him grumble under his breath. I take a deep breath before answering him.
"Damon...I literally just saw you this morning. How in the actual FUCK DID YOU DO THIS IS FOUR HOURS?!!!" I shout causing the glass vase in front of me to break and water and flowers to spill all over the counter.
"Woah woah woah, calm down okay? We don't need you having another one of those magic spikes again" The blue eyed vamp attempts to calm me down, despite my anger towards him I take his advice and force myself to calm down. After a few deep breaths I speak back into the phone.
"I am going to the Gilbert house if Vicki is there, great. If not, you better hope you find her before I do" I say in a sweet sickening voice oozing out venom.
"How am I suppose to find her without my ring? It's still light outside for another hour-"
"Figure it out!" I snap into the phone before hanging it up. I huff in frustration before looking back down at the suspicious envelope.
Classified Information.
Guess it will just have to wait a few hours. I grab my keys and make a beeline for the door.
Lord, one day just one day.
I'm sitting on the counter of the Gilbert house kitchen as Elena puts dishes in the dishwasher. Jeremy explains his worries for Vickie and Elena assures that everything will be fine. A minute later the doorbell rings, we all go check to see who it is.

When Elena opens the door to see Damon she forces Jeremy upstairs.
"Hello Elena" He greets with a mischievous grin before reverting his eyes to me. I stand with my arms crossed and a cold glare pointed directly at him.
"Aria" He nods taking in my heated expression. I take a step towards him before giving him a brain aneurysm. He winces as I push harder, I finally let up with his knees start to buckle.
"Ow, What the hell" He curses holding his head in his hands as he begins to heal.
"That's for being stupid. I mean what the hell did you think was going to happen? You turn her, she thanks you, you teach her how to be a vampire and everybody sings kumbaya?" I shout at him angrily.
"The last one does sound kind of nice" Damon jokes hunched over as he still continues to slowly heal.
"You're such an asshole" Elena scoffs looking away from him in disbelief on how he can still joke around after all he's done. I've learned to except it at this point.
Damon finally stands up straight after he's fully healed with his signature smirk etched on his face.
"So I've been told" The vampire shrugs before looking around the house.
"So...where's Stefan?" Damon asks looking between myself and Elena. My shoulders drop at the mention of my boyfriend, which I'm sure he picked up on. I shrug my shoulders as I take a seat on the stairs behind me.
They both frown at me before Elena looks back at Damon with a glare.
"He's out looking for Vicki" she answers him.
I zone out of their conversation...so Stefan told Elena, the person he was worried I had feelings for, where he was going but not me? Wow, that hurts. I look up when Damon calls my name.
"Ill call you later okay" He tells me which is code for 'you better tell me everything later or else'. I nod back before he leaves closing the door behind him.
"I didn't know you had no clue where he was" Elena says taking a seat next to me. I nod looking forward.
"I haven't spoken to him since yesterday" I sigh turning to look at her.
"I mean when we met up after the shopping trip and he said you weren't joining us I just assumed that you wanted some rest from yesterday so I decided to leave you alone. But when you called after he just left to find Vicki I realized that you sounded fine" I furrow my eyebrows in confusion.
"Wait wait wait" I interrupt cutting her off.
"What do mean just left? He was here the whole time?" I ask in suspicion. Elena nods slowly.
"Yeah we've been together all day...I thought you knew this?" I turn away from her to lean against the railing. I shake my head no from my spot next to her.
"I didn't" Elena stares at me for a minute with a puzzled expression before realization flashes in her eyes.
"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry Maria. I see how this looks but it wasn't like that I swear, I don't even like g-" She cuts herself off causing me to raise an eyebrow at her. She clears her throat awkwardly.
"Getting to know about vampires" She finishes rubbing her palms nervously against her thighs flashing an awkward smile. I shake off whatever just happened.
"It's okay Elena, really. I know it wasn't like that...it just hurts you know? That he'd rather spend time with someone else than with me" I sigh with a sad smile. After a few moments of silence I stand up from my spot on the stairs.
"You know what? I'm going to go" I rush out grabbing my stuff from the table by the door and pulling my hoodie back on. I open the door as Elena stumbles rushing after me from her spot on the stairs.
"No, Maria don't go. I'm sorry-" She stammers out from behind me.
"You didn't do anything wrong Elena, it's fine. I'm just gonna go home okay? I'll be fine, promise" I assure her with a small smile. She nods reluctantly watching as I step outside of the house.
"Call me when you get news about Vicki okay?" She nods with smile, I return her smile before running down the steps and to my car.
As I get the car I take my phone out to text Jac and see if she wanted to hang out tonight.

Molting the Mortal Coil
Reincarnated as a child in a new world a mild mannered programmer, named Sage, finds himself struggling to survive. The road to immortality is paved with danger, treasure, and conflict. This mystical eastern world is filled with Demonic Beasts, Treacherous Cultivators, and Extraordinary Legacies. Follow Sage on his journey to adapt to this new world, and find out if he can overcome the limitations of body, mind, and soul. Will he rise to the occasion and become a hero? Or maybe he'll turn to the dark side and end up a villain? Molting the Mortal Coil is more of a slower paced journey. It's not about endless battles and conquering the next bad guy who spits on the main characters shoes or sends him a funny look. There's also not a treadmill of tournaments or love interests. It's more of a slower burn with lots of, and hopefully not too much, world building. It's still supposed to be stuffed with action, but that won't pick up for a while since we start with a weakling. The first 30 chapters have a lot of time-skipping, but stay with me it gets better. I plan to re-write and add more to the first 30 in the future, but if you can push through I feel it gets much more fun after! Updates will be weekly.
