On nights like this one, I wonder if you miss me the way I miss you
➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖
Nights like this. Do you ever just want to go outside in the middle of the night and walk around and not actually do anything, just observe and think? I have late night conversations with the moon, he tells me about the sun and I tell him about you. Throw wishes into the night and wait for the stars to catch them. So here's to the nights we don't remember and the friends we won't forget, to the nights that turned into mornings and the friends that turned into family. Here's to nights like this.
It's almost time for Stefan, Bonnie, Caroline, and Damon to come over for the dinner party. I'm not going to lie and say I'm not nervous, I am just not as nervous as I expected to be. All I want is for Stefan to get to know my friends and everything to go smooth sailing. But, sadly it's Mystic Falls, so my expectations aren't too high.
"Hey, where do you want to eat, dining room or kitchen?" Jac asks from the living room as I'm finishing my last few dishes in the Kitchen.
"Dining room, for sure" I answer.
"Elena, can you help me put these on the table?" I ask picking up a few plates, as Elena nods and joins me.
As soon as I finish setting up the table the doorbell rings.
"That's Bonnie and Caroline, Jac can you get the door?" I ask from the dining room. I hear her heels click against the floor as she goes to answer the door.
"Hey guys" Bonnie and Caroline greet as Jac and them join us in the dining room.
"Hello" I greet as I sigh in satisfaction of the dining room set up.
Caroline looks around in awe.
"Wow, you really went all out" She compliments causing me to grin.
"Thank you, I-" I was cut off by the doorbell ringing again, this time I go to answer it.
"That's the boys, everyone just be themselves" I assure them as I walk towards the entrance. I open the door with a grin.
Damon is leaning against the doorframe and Stefan is holding his hands behind his back while looking around.
"Hello, boys. Come on in" I push the door open wider for them to walk in. I point Damon into the direction of the dining room before turning to Stefan.
"Maria, I just wanted to apologize for earlier and lying to you or keeping stuff from you. I just thought you would hate me and decide you didn't want to be with me anymore if you found out, so I kept it a secret from you" Stefan apologizes as he pulls my body into his.

I wrap my arms around his neck.
"I'm not mad, I understand. If anything I was more mad at myself. I felt it, you, the feeling of death and loneliness, but I pushed it aside because I was with you, and that kind of scared me" I confessed looking away from him. Stefan tilted my chin back in his direction, I look up to meet his eyes.
"Hey, that's nothing you should feel ashamed of, especially if I feel the same way. You make me feel...human, Angel" Stefan exclaims leaning his forehead against mine. I grin as my cheeks flush.
"Let's continue this later, when there isn't company over" I suggest, pulling him by his hand into the Dining room after me.
"Alright everyone, let's eat" I announce to everyone in the room.
The night has gone surprisingly well, we all ate in dining room. The girls and I myself got to know more about Stefan and Damon. Of course, we had a few moments of Damon taunting Stefan or being rude to Caroline causing Elena or Bonnie to snap at him. Then Jac with her inappropriate comments, and Caroline with her slick ones.
Our seating arrangement was me first, with Stefan on my right and Jac on my left. Elena next to Stefan with Bonnie across from her next to Caroline. Then Damon in between Caroline and Elena, right across from me.
But, the goal I wanted to achieve during this dinner was accomplished.
Bonnie is warming up to Stefan, and hopefully everything goes up from here, but again I won't get my hopes up to high.
Right now, we've decided to move this party into the living room.
" I cannot believe that Mr. Tanner let you on the team. Tyler must be seething. But good for you. Go for it" Caroline says to Stefan.
"That's what I always tell him. You have to engage. You can't just sit there and wait for life to come to you. You have to go get it" Damon takes it upon himself to say.
"Yeah, Elena wasn't so lucky today. It's only because you missed summer camp. God, I don't know how you're ever going to learn the routines" Caroline points out rudely.
"We'll work with her, she'll get it" Bonnie covers for Elena.
"Or you know, she can work on it at practice, when we practice routines, since it's called practice" I say smartly while giving Caroline a challenging look. Snickers were heard around the room when her cheeks flushed red.
Elena gives me a grateful look, I have her a smile in return.
"You know, you don't seem like the cheerleader type, Elena" Damon states curiously. Caroline feels the need to butt in, again.
"Oh, it's just 'cause her parents died. Yeah, I mean, she's just totally going through a blah phase. She used to be way more fun" Everyone's eyes widen in shock at the blondes bluntness. Caroline's eyes widen as she realizes what she just said.

"And I say that with complete sensitivity" She rushes out. I roll my eyes before a sarcastic smile grows on my lips.
"Caroline, sweetie?" I grab her attention as she hums in response.
"Do, shut the hell up" I say as the sarcastic grin stays perfectly intact.
"I'm sorry, Elena. I know what it's like to lose both your parents. In fact, Stefan and I have watched almost every single person we've ever cared about die" Damon tells Elena with a look of mock sincerity. Stefan clenches his jaw.
"We don't need to get into that right now, Damon" Stefan grits out through clenched teeth.
"Oh, you know what, you're right, Stef. I'm sorry. The last thing I wanted to do was bring her up. Mmm" The blue eyed Salvatore taunts.
See, I told you this night was going amazing. You know, until it went to shit.
While everyone else decided to continue talking, I decided to excuse myself to do the dishes. But, I honestly didn't want to be in there anymore.
"One more" I hear behind me. I turn around to see Damon holding a glass out to me. I went to grab it, but it slipped and right before it hit the floor, Damon caught it.
I rolled my eyes playfully as a smirk grew.
"Show off" I mutter as Damon shrugs in response with his signature little smirk.
"Oh, only to impress you, Aria" He mocks bowing slightly. I chuckle before playing along and curtsying.
"Why thank you, Kind sir. How ever shall I repay you?" I ask in a British accent. Damon's eyebrows raise in surprise.
"Why, but a dance of course!" Damon exclaims before grabbing my hand as we dance around the kitchen, laughter filling the room.
"Aah!" I shriek when Damon suddenly dipped me. When we stopped dancing we were both out of breath. We look at each other before bursting into laughter.
In the other room, Stefan could hear everything going on.
Maybe there's hope for my brother after all.
Samaria and Stefan enter her bedroom. Samaria drags him to her bed before sitting as he stood between her legs. Stefan places light kisses along her neck up to her jaw. Samaria hums.
"I guess tonight wasn't so bad" Samaria says to her boyfriend.
"Nope" Stefan mumbled against her neck.
"And Damon did kind of beh-" Stefan cuts her off.
"Shhh, enough about my brother" Stefan places his lips on hers as they mended perfectly. Maria smiles against his lips.
The kiss started off nice and slow, but soon the pace picked up and became more hungry and passionate. Stefan pushes Maria back onto the bed unbutton her sweater as she glides her hands through his hair.
The vampire leans down to place open mouth kisses along her neck causing her breath to quicken. Maria quickly switches their positions straddling Stefan. She tugs at his shirt telling him to pull it off. But, as the shirt is raised above his head Stefan is no longer himself. Damon appears underneath Maria as he smirks up at her. Maria lets out a high pitched scream as she crashes into the wall behind her.
Maria gasps awake from her sleep. She holds her hand to her chest as she looks around the room. Her eyes soon catch a glimpse of a crow perched outside her window. She tilts her head as realization flashes across her face. She takes her pillow and chucks it at the bird.
"Damon, you dick!" The bird flies away before it was hit. Maria grumbles incoherent profanities before drifting back to sleep.
As the raven haired vampire lays laughing in his bed.
Let me just cut to the chase, Friday night was horrible. Tanner is dead, Jeremy and Tyler fought, and Damon is trying to compel Elena to spite Stefan. To say that the Demon is getting on my last nerves is an understatement. But, today is now Saturday finally, and I'm meeting Elena at the mall for a serious makeover.
I head into the mall and look around before spotting Elena by the huge fountain. I strut over to her with a grin.
"Hello, Elena" I greet cheerily. Elena looks up to me with a smile.
"Hey, Maria" She stands from her seat.
"So, are you ready for the best day of your life?" I exclaim dramatically as Elena chuckles.
"As I'll ever be" She responds rubbing her legs nervously. I squeal in excitement.
"You won't regret it"
"Rule number one of a makeover, have confidence. Keep your head held high and walk with authority" I state as I pace back and forth while Elena tries on different clothing a few feet away from me.
"Rule number two, don't let people walk all over you. Let them know you know how to handle yourself" I tell Elena through the curtain as I sort out different outfits for her.
"What if I don't know how to handle myself?" Elena asks from behind the curtains.
"Then act like you do" I shrug. The curtains open.
"I guess that'll do" Elena sighs as she spins around in her outfit. A wide grin spreads across my face.
"That's the look!" I squeal loudly. She gasps.
"You think so?" She looks at herself in the mirror. I nod confidently.
"I know so"
