《Cosmic® • Stefan Salvatore》chapter five

Why am I so scared to lose you, when you're not even mine?
➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖
Crushes. Psychological fact, being unable to get someone off your mind indicates that you are also on that person's mind as well. Wondering what goes through their mind when someone mentions your name to them. I don't know what to talk about, but I wanna talk about you. Their smile is the highlight of your day. You don't know what it is about them, but they have a hold on your heart and have claimed it as theirs.
"Bye Aria!" Damon shouts just as she closed the door.
Stefan slowly turns to Damon direction.
"Great, gal. She's- wow. She's just amazing." Damon let out a breathless chuckle.
"I know she is, she's mine" Stefan growls with a hard glare. Damon narrows his eyes at Stefan.
"Are you sure? Because it seems to me that you guys aren't official yet, at least not to her" Damon challenges.
"Leave her alone, Damon. She doesn't want anything to do with you" Stefan says sternly.
"That could be true, but maybe I want something to do with her" Damon comments suggestively.
"You know, for old time sake, brother" Damon chuckles darkly. Stefan looks away from Damon in disbelief.
"You wanna know what I think, brother?" Stefan asks mockingly.
"Enlighten me" Damon gestures for him to go on.
"I think the reason you came back has nothing to do with me, I think you happened to know I was here, but didn't know what for" Stefan predicts.
"I think you came back for Katherine, and just like me you saw Elena and decided to figure out exactly what you saw" Damon clenches his jaw at the mention of Katherine which doesn't go unnoticed by Stefan, but he only continues.
"But now that you see Elena's not the one I'm interested in, you and Maria are suddenly becoming the best of friends" Stefan accuses moving closer to Damon with each menacing step.
Suddenly Stefan is in front of Damon as the two brothers have a face off. Stefan pushes Damon on the chest, Damon barely moves.
"Do you even like her, or are you just doing this to torture me? Maria is not Katherine-" Stefan's cut off.
"I never said she was" Damon sneers poking Stefan hard in the chest.

"Then what do want from her! Huh?" Stefan fumes throwing his hands in the air.
"You want money, fortune? You have that. You want blood? I'll give it to you. You want to save Katherine? Fine, I'll help. You want Elena? I may sound like a bad person, but fine take her!" Stefan shouts flipping over a table and throwing stuff around.
Stefan stops and calms down for a few seconds before turning back around to face his brother.
"But, please leave Maria alone. As your little brother, I am asking you for this one favor. Please, leave her out of this" Stefan pleads to Damon sincerely as tears cause his eyesight to blur.
Damon would never admit it, but there was something in his eyes, and they could have been mistaken for tears.
Damon gulps before looking to the ground. Damon curses his brother and Maria for making him feel. All the emotions once buried, rising up to the surface as if they had never been gone in the first place. His eyes harden back into a glare with an unreadable expression.
"To do what you are asking me to do, requires humanity and we both know the closest you'll ever get to humanity is when you rip it open and feed on it" Stefan's face drops any hope he had immediately disappearing as if it was never there.
"Give Maria my best" Damon smirks smugly before speeding out of the house.
Leaving Stefan to think of what his brother has become.
"He's on the rebound and has raging family issues" I tell Jac while I file my nails.
"At least it's an ex-girlfriend" Jac assures going through a magazine while sprawled across my bed.
"Yeah, I guess. It's not that I really care, I mean we all have skeletons in our closets" I shrug glances at before looking back to my nails.
"Yes, indeed. Though some more than others" Jac smirks knowingly from the spot on my bed.
I look away with a solemnly.
"Yes, indeed"
I'm currently walking around town square looking at all the decorations they have set up. I've never really understood why out history teachers made this day out to be a big deal, but I guess I know why now. A comet that orbits the Earth for almost two life times after years finally gets to come home for a few hours. So what I'm trying to say is, it's a big deal.

Caroline walks up to me with a grin before handing me a candle stick then lighting it. I light the person's candle to my left then turn to my right to light that person's candle only to look up and grin at who I found.
"Hey, Maria" Stefan grin with adoration in his eyes.
"Hi" I greet breathlessly as my eyes suddenly light up.
"Look, I just wanted to apologize" Stefan sighs looking away from me in shame. I raise an eyebrow in confusion.
"For?" I ask as he looks up from the ground.
"For Damon? I don't know exactly, I just figured he said something to make you angry with me" Stefan admits searching for any sign of anger. I shrug.
"No, actually your Demon of a brother seems pretty cool, nothing I haven't dealt with before" I explain.
"And as for what he said, it was something about your ex girlfriend, Kaitlyn or something like that. He said it was a tragic breakup and to be honest I've been there, so there's nothing you have to apologize for" I assure him as all his features show relief.
"Good, because I was really hoping that there could be something here" He says gesturing between us. I smirk.
"Oh, really? Like what?" I question crossing my arms.
"Like this"
Stefan crashes our lips together in a soft savoring kiss. Our lips melt together and move in sync. I wrap my arms around his neck as his hands make their way to my waist. We soon break apart, both breathing heavily. Stefan presses his forehead against mine.
"You have no idea how long I've been waiting to do that" Stefan grins looking down at me.
I return the grin.
"I think I have an idea"
I see Damon by the bar and walk over to him.
"Hello, Demon" I greet sliding in the seat next to him.
"The lovely Aria, how may I assist you on this fine evening" He questions sarcastically. I stare at him quizzically.
"Mhmm. Already drunk and it's not even 9 yet, oh well. I guess it's 10:30 somewhere" I shrug gesturing at a bartender to pour me a drink.
"And that is exactly why I like you so much" Damon sighs in mock admiration. I chuckle and push his arm playfully.
"Oh really, is that so?" I wiggle my eyebrows at him causing him to bust out in laughter.
"Yes it is so, seeing as you're the only one in this town who seems to make me laugh" He grins a genuine smile. I smile back in return just as wide.
"It is a pleasure, Demon" I smirk whilst taking a sip from my drink.
"As always, Aria"
So supposedly Vicki was missing for a good hour or so, and all of us, well them, had to look for her for Matt and Jeremy. I on the other hand sat by the bar for the entirety of the night, sipping on my drink and talking to the bartender.
I turn my head when I hear the door open and watch as Bonnie, Caroline, and Jac walk through the door. I pay for my drink before strutting over to their table.
"See ya girls, I'm heading home for the night. Love ya!" I shout over my shoulder as Jac gets up and follows me out the door to the parking lot.
"Bye Maria" Both of them yell bidding their goodbyes for the night.
"Ugh, it's just so much drama. Ever notice how he druggies are the biggest attention whores?" Caroline whines to Bonnie at the Mystic Grill.
"Yeah" Bonnie sighs tiredly only for someone to clear their throat behind them.
"Um, have you guys seen Maria?" Stefan asks.
"She actually just left, but I'm sure you can catch her outside" Bonnie tells him with a smile.
"Thank you" He places his hand on her shoulder only for her to jump away from his touch. She looked up in horror.
"What happened to you?" Stefan frowns in confusion.
"Oh my god. That's so rude, I'm sorry. Excuse me" Bonnie rushes away from the table causing Stefan to move his gaze to Caroline who shrugs.
"Yeah, She kind of wigs out. It's like her thing" She chuckles nervously.
