As perfect as my lipstick
➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖
Frenemies. A person that is friendly toward another because the relationship brings benefits, but harbors feelings of resentment or rivalry. They wanna see you do good, but never better than them. Never regret being a good person, to the wrong people. Your behavior says enough about you, and theirs in return says enough about them. Always pay close attention to the people who don't clap when you win.
Samaria Griffith stood up for me. That's a sentence I'd never thought I'd say. Samaria Griffith, my rival, my enemy, my arch nemesis stood up for me. I mean forgive me for being surprised, but we've hated each other since middle school. Well I hated her first and she kind of just returned the feelings.
I don't even know exactly why I started hating her in the first place. I guess it was because of how she was the new girl and instantly had everyone bowing to her feet, her aura demanded attention whether it was purposefully or unintentional.
She had a confidence that made her stand out from others and a demeanor that made people quake in fear. Her and her sister seemed to have more of an impact on the town than the mayor or the sheriff ever could. Not to mention her sharp wit.
And those are only her character traits, we haven't even gone over her physical traits. Pretty much the moral of the story was I was being a jealous bitch because I didn't have the guts or the confidence to stand up and not care what people think like she did or does. She's just perfect and I despised her for that and I continued to do so all the way up until now.
So, how can I say anything remotely bad about her when she literally just saved me from embarrassment and skipped class for me?
That's the thing, I can't. It's time to swallow my pride, put my big girl pants on, and thank her.
We're currently walking down the empty hallway, I'm not really sure where we're going, but I don't care. I turn to look at Maria.
"Why did you stand up for me? I mean, I thought you hated me?" I ask curiosity shown as my expression. Maria shrugged.
"I did it, because nobody deserves to be spoken to like that, especially about their dead parents. Trust me, I know the feeling" Maria scoffs with a roll of her eyes.
"Well, thanks" I praise quietly looking down to my feet, until I hear a sudden growl. I look up to meet furious grayish blue eyes.
"What is wrong with you?" Maria snaps clearly angry at something I did.
"What are you talking about?" I asks furrowing my eyebrows in confusion.
"Why don't you ever stand up for yourself? That's why I can never insult you, you would never fight back, you just take it. Why won't you just fight back?" She questions in frustration.
"I-I don't, I don't know, I-I guess I was just scared of someone not liking me or shunning me for saying something back. I just always let my friends or Matt stand up for me" I say shamefully. I guess you could say I'm a huge wimp, but I was just so used to caring about what everyone else thought of me, I never really focused on what I thought of me.
"Well, you know what? We're going to change that. Next Saturday, 10 am, you, me, the mall, and my credit card, be there" Maria instructs with determination as she struts down the hall.

"10 am, Elena!" She reminds me shouting over her shoulder. I sigh.
I guess this change could be a good thing.
I am currently at the back to school party at Preakness lake. If you live in Preakness Circle such as Jac and I, you don't really have a problem with getting into the parties over here. But for those who don't, it's very hard to convince the security guards that half of the school lives in Preakness Circle.
I'm kind of being a loner at the moment. I'm seated at the end of the dock, looking out towards the beautiful sunset, very fascinated on how the sky meets the moon perfectly. It's like the sky and the ocean are perfectly in sync with one another, knowing how the other flows better than themselves.
I love how they just mend together and no matter how far you travel you'll never be able to discover where the sky and the ocean meet. It's like they both carry the secret of the universe, an inside joke, a double meaning, a secret that we may already know but don't know that we know it yet.
All lives have a purpose, whether it be changing society, educating others, learning from others, creating revolutions, everyone has a purpose. So here I am, sitting here, alone, on the dock cherishing this as one of the rare moments where I can sit and think about where I belong in life, what my purpose is, what the role I was born to play is.
These are one of those rare moments where I don't have to busy myself in order to ignore the commotion in my head. People think "oh! She's Samaria Griffith, nothing ever gets to her, nothing ever softens her rough shell, nothing ever melts her icee heart".
But haven't you ever heard the saying those with the prettiest smiles have been through the most, those with the prettiest eyes have seen the most, and those with the loudest minds have heard the most.
I think I have a tough pretty shell that no one has the guts to crack open.
I suddenly hear slow heavy footsteps moving in my direction, but I don't turn around. Once the said person is standing next to me, they sit down beside me.
"What are you thinking about?" Stefan asks as I feel his gaze on the side of my face.
"How the sky meets the sea" I say quietly not taking my eyes off the view.
"How come you're not partying with everyone else? I assumed you to be the life of the party" Stefan asks amusement lingering in his voice.
"Well, Salvatore. Around this day or time of the year, I'm either completely wasted or completely sober, and it seems sober wins this time. Though I wish it would lose" I sigh heavily deep in thought. Stefan looks away before looking back and pulling me closer by my chin.
"I may not know what you've been through, but I do know you won't be sad forever, Maria" Stefan assures changing the subject in my favor. Stefan and I flickered our gazes between our eyes and lips.
"How do you know if I'm sad?" I question my breath fanning his lips. My breath hitches when Stefan pulls our faces closer each other.
"Because I know you're not happy" He states before leaning in and just when our lips brushed against one another a loud echo of a shrilling scream shoots through the entire lake.
Stefan and I jump up immediately pulling apart and making our way to the source of horrific screams.

Stefan rushes into his house with inhuman speed, he runs toward where his nephew, Zach Salvatore, is.
"What's going on?" Zach questions surprised from his sudden appearance.
"Someone else was attacked tonight, Zach, and it wasn't me" Stefan explains to Zach before rushing up to his room, only to freeze when a crow is staring at him from one of the wooden beams in the ceiling. He ducks when the crow swoops down and flys out of his room.
Stefan's body goes frigid when he feels another presence in the room. He turns around slowly to meet the icy blue eyes of his dark haired older brother.
"Damon" Stefan confirms in disbelief.
"Hello, Brother" The blue eyed man greets tauntingly.
"Crow's a bit much, don't you think?" Stefan snaps.
"Wait till you see what I can do with the fog" Damon smirks menacingly.
"When'd you get here?" Stefan questions seriously.
"Well, I couldn't miss your first day at school. Your hair's different. I like it" He answers vaguely.
"It's been 15 yrs, Damon" Stefan points out.
" Thank God. I couldn't take another day of the nineties. That horrible grunge look? Did not suit you. Remember, Stefan, it's important to stay away from fads" He taunts messing with things in the room.
"Why are you here?" Stefan eyes Damon as he walks around his room.
"I miss my little brother" Damon lies easily.
"You hate small towns. It's boring. There's nothing for you to do"
"I've managed to keep myself busy" Damon smirks widely in pride.
"You know, you left that girl alive tonight. That's very clumsy of you" Stefan scolds his expression remaining stoic.
"Ah. That can be a problem...for you" Damon says brushing the topic off.
"Why are you here?"Stefan questions again becoming frustrated.
" I could ask you the same question. However, I'm fairly certain your answer can be summed up all into one little word...Elena" Damon answers with an evil glint in his eyes.
I spot Elena and Bonnie talking by the parking lot and walk over to them.
"Hey, Guys" I greet receiving small smiles in return.
"So Jac and I are headed back to my place, we're gonna wait for news. You're welcome to come" I offer politely.
"I can't, I gotta get Caroline sobered up before I take her home" Bonnie declines nicely. I turn to Elena, as she blinks in surprise from me even asking her.
"Umm...sure. Jenna's here picking up Jeremy anyways. Just let me go tell them first" I nod in agreement. Elena runs off.
"So you and Elena, huh?" Bonnie teases with a smug smirk and a raised eyebrow.
"I guess, we sort of talked a bit after I scared Tanner and I kind of offered her some help with something" I shrug answering honestly.
"Wait, What are you helping her with that can't?" She questions taken aback.
"Why, jealous?" I whisper smirking mischievously.
Bonnie didn't have enough time to answer before Elena was running back towards us.
"Okay, I'm ready to go. I had an overnight bag in Jenna's car" Elena states holding up her old cheer bag. She scrunches her eyebrows in confusion when she sees the tension between Bonnie and I.
"Everything okay?" She asks looking between us.
"Just peachy" I grin tightly before walking off to my car as Elena follows.
"See ya, Bon!"
"She took my breath away. Elena. But I wish I could say she was the only one. Samaria Griffith, fiesty, that one. A true queen" Damon trails losing focus for a second which doesn't go unnoticed by Stefan.
"Is it working Stefan? Being around her? Around them, in their world? Does it make you feel alive?" Damon taunts with a double meaning.
"Maria has nothing to do with this world, and Elena's not Katherine" Stefan snaps.
"Okay, Elena might not be Katherine, but what about Maria. I'm sure you've noticed their similar traits, I'm beginning to think you have a type brother" The older Salvatore pushes trying to get a reaction from Stefan.
"Maybe I should go after her, just to spite you. Afterall, a girl like Maria needs someone who excepts who he is" Damon grins.
"She's not, Katherine" The younger brother grits out through clenched teeth.
"Well, let's hope not. We both know how that ended. Tell me something, when's the last time you had something stronger than a squirrel?" Damon asks inching closer to Stefan.
"I know what you're doing, Damon. It's not going to work" He answers quickly.
"Yeah? Come on. Don't you crave a little?" Damon questions again shoving his brother.
"Stop it" Stefan demands squeezing his eyes shut.
"Let's do it. Together. I saw a couple girls out there. Or just, let's just cut to the chase, let's just go straight for Maria" The blue eyed Salvatore suggests.
"Stop it!" Stefan shouts.
"Imagine what her blood tastes like!" Damon yells causing Stefan's whole body to freeze.
"I can" He mutters out evilly a dark glint in his eyes.
"I said stop!" And with that Stefan rushes toward Damon before throwing both of them out the window. Although only Stefan lands the ground.
" I was impressed. I give it a six. Missing style, but I was pleasantly surprised. Very good with the whole face...thing. It was good" Damon mocks from where he's sitting.
"You know, it's all fun and games, Damon, huh? But wherever you go, people die" Stefan tells him.
"That's a given" Damon says brushing his comment off.
"Not here, not Maria. I won't allow it" Stefan assures scrunching his eyebrows together in determination.
"You won't allow it, huh? And who's going to stop me?" Stefan looks to the ground.
"I'll take that as in invitation" Damon grins sarcastically. Stefan looks up in fear.
"Damon, please. After all these years, can't we just give it a rest?" Stefan begs.
" I promised you an eternity of misery, so I'm just keeping my word" Stefan shakes his head.
"Just stay away from Maria" Stefan pleads for the safety of his crush. Hurt flashes through Damon's eyes as quick as it came, but he disregards Stefan's words as if he didn't hear him.
"Where's your ring? Oh, yeah, sun's coming up in a couple of hours, and, poof, ashes to ashes" Damon mocks worry for Stefan. Stefan looks at his finger in panic.
"Relax. It's right here" Damon speaks holding out Stefan's ring in his outreached hand. Stefan hesitantly grabs the ring before sliding it on to his finger. As soon as the ring was on Damon springs into action.
Damon grabs Stefan by the throat and throws him against the garage.
"You should know better than to think you're stronger than me. You lost that fight when you stopped feeding on people. I wouldn't try it again" The raven haired vampire threatens as Stefan groans in pain.
"I think we woke Zach up. Sorry, Zach" He apologizes as he walks off whistling.
Elena, Jac, And I decided to have a sleepover to keep our minds off of the Vicki situation. We ate junk food while watching movies until we all fell asleep. I had my head on Jac's stomach as Elena laid on the back of my legs. I was in a deep sleep before the loud ring of the door bell made everyone suddenly jump.
No one made any attempts to move, so I hope whoever's at the door leaves. But that wasn't the case. The door bell sounds again.
"Bitch, get the door. It's your house!" Jac yells pushing me off the couch. I shout in pain.
"Hoe" I grumble as I rub my hip while walking to the door.
I open the door only to be shocked by who was standing in front of me.
"Stefan?" I squint in confusion, all exhaustion leaving my body. Stefan grins.
"Hi"

Ashes of the Primordial
With the upcoming shutdown of the servers for Ragnarok Games’ deep dive VRMMO, ‘Ashes of the Primordial’, the player log of those online for the final night was depressingly empty-looking. A revolutionary level of realism drove Ashes to the forefront of the games market, billions of players enjoying their journey to power and glory as an avatar of their own creation. The final enemy of the game-world defeated, the company announced, in line with their stance from launch, that they would be shutting down the game exactly six months after the defeat of Sutr, the final boss. Ammanas, the player responsible for Sutr's defeat, stays online until the end. However, as the countdown hits 0, the start-hub of his dive rig (what would typically greet a forced ejection from a game) was no where to be seen and instead darkness greets him as he fades into unconsciousness. Awakening to unfamiliar sights in an unfamiliar body, one which turns out to be a lot more familiar than he first thought, now he must figure out where, how, why and what to do with the new world he finds himself in. Author note: I don't own the cover, just something found through a google search. This is also my first story and the MC will basically be unimaginably OP yet never really utilising his full power. He just wants to find somewhere to fit in to the new world he finds himself in and despite both his nature as a loner and his interests he will find himself forming connections with the denizens of this new realm. Hope you enjoy
