"I'm sorry, Yudhisthir. I can't give you permission." Balaram's words surprised everyone. No one thought he would object.

"But why, bhrata Balaram? Nakul and Drisana has chosen each other themselves. Then why can't you give your blessings?" Yudhisthir asked.

"I didn't refused to give my blessings, Yudhisthir. I'd be happy if the two gets married. But I can't give you permission as it is not in my hand." Balaram said to all smiling.

"I'm sorry, but I don't understand bhrata." Yudhisthir said being confused as everyone else.

"To take permission for Drisana's marriage, you'll have to go to 'Daksina Durg' (Southern Fortress)." Balaram replied.

"Daksina Durg? Dravida Kingdom?" Sahdev asked.

"Yes, anuj Sahdev." Balaram replied with a smile.

"Why?" Bheem asked this time.

Balaram looked at Krishna. Krishna stood up, his smile back in his face.

"The right to know why is firstly Drisana's. Give me permission." Krishna said and folding his hands took leave. Everyone was confused, but it was clear he was going to talk to Drisana.

Drisana was taking a walk in the palace garden. She was happy and enjoying the fragrance of flowers when she heard from behind,

"This is good. People searches me to ask questions and I'm searching you to give answers."

Drisana turned to find Krishna standing.

"You'll only give answer according to your wish. So, I thought why to pester you when you yourself will give me answers when you see fit." Drisana replied amused.

"But to get answers you'll have to ask first, behna." Krishna said.

"If that was the case then you won't be here." Drisana said.

"Bhrata Yudhisthir asked dau and me for permission to get Nakul and you married." Krishna said. A little blush coloured her face as she asked,

"And what you said?" Clearly thinking it was done. There was no reason for them to object.

"It isn't in our hands, behna. The permission has to be seek from someone else." Krishna said.

"Who? Why?" Drisana asked confused.

"Maharaj Drishadvat of Dravida Kingdom. Because he's your father." Krishna said shocking Drisana. What was Krishna talking about?

"How is that possible? How can he be my father when I'm not even from this time? I know who my father is." Drisana said agitated.

"Keep calm and listen to me carefully." Krishna sat on a rock and indicated for her to sit down too. After she was seated he started.

"Maharaj Drishadvat and Maharani Mangalya always wanted a daughter, but even after seven sons, their wish remained unfulfilled. Then Maharaj and Maharani did yagya to please Suryadev. And pleased by them Suryadev blessed them to have a daughter who would have the heat and warmth of sun. Not many days after Maharani Mangalya became pregnant expecting a girl. During her pregnancy, Maharaj Drishadvat went to the forest to hunt and accidentally killed a Yaksha child. The mother of that child, the Yaksini was a powerful one. She had the power to travel through time creating a energy portal, though she could only travel for a very limited time and not outside the yug. When she lost her child, she vowed to get revenge by taking away Maharaj's most loved child. As it was the soon coming daughter who was the most loved, he tried everything to secure his child. But the Yaksini got hold of the daughter after she was born. Maharaj Drishadvat would have found his daughter anywhere in Aryavart and they would still have hope of the childs' return. But Yaksini didn't wanted for them to have hope. So, using her all power she did something impossible. She created a portal to Kaliyug. When she passed through the portal, a part of her power entered the child. She died a few moments later after giving the child to a couple and telling them to leave the place and never return as it would be dangerous for the child. The childless couple took the kid away from that place never to return.

That child is you, Drisana. When years after you returned to that same place where the energy portal was created. It stirred again sensing the power that was left in you while passing the portal. It sucked you back into this yug as you got nearer while taking the power to diminish itself. That's why no portal remained after you were back here and as this power belonged to that Yaksini, later got transported to you, no one else was able to awake the portal in all these years.

That's why I said it was no accident and you are exactly where you should be."

As Krishna finished, Drisana couldn't relate herself to it. Her parents weren't hers? She was actually from Dwaparyug? She as usual decided to close her feelings and examine them later. She looked at Krishna to get all the answers first and react later.

"I don't understand. You said Destiny will handover whatever I choose. Why? Isn't my destiny predecided? Me being here back, wasn't it decided already?" Drisana asked.

"What is destiny, behna? Don't you remember what's written in Bhagavadgita? It is said to work hard for your goals and don't care for the result. If everything is predecided than what's the need to work hard?

Self Effort can change destiny. This is true, when you have to see the past, remember it was destiny. But when you have to shape future, remember, you are making your own destiny. Most people chooses to remain inactive. Not doing anything and leaving everything at the name of fate.

But you, my sister hold the self-power to shape your own destiny.

You went to Kaliyug. It was Yaksini's action and the result of Maharaj Drishadvat's action. But you came back by your own choice. It was you who instead of ignoring the calls of that energy portal responded to it. It was you who even sensing the danger came near that portal. You're here by your own actions." Krishna explained.

"Okay. But what about the history? You said I'm not part of the history, I've to create history. What that means?" Drisana asked desperately.

"That's the truth. You've read the history. Were you anywhere in it? No. Because you weren't a part of that. But the moment you came back, history became present. And now the events that's happening and will happen, will be known as history. So, you're creating history, behna." Krishna said with his calm expression, like what he was saying, was the simplest things to understand.

"I still don't understand. Okay. I can shape my destiny. But what about the others? Why the events changed? Why the attack at Varanavat? Why bhrata Bheem didn't married Hidimba? Why Jyesth married Devika jiji? Why Mata's words changed?" Drisana asked exasperated.

"Just like you, anyone's destiny depends on their actions only. The events changed because you disturbed the time flow. Nothing remained the same. You in a way gave a chance to all those present in this period to change their actions.

Because of your presence at Varanavat, Duryodhan changed his action and ordered Purochan to kill all of you immediately.

Because of your action, bua got saved. If you hadn't acted as you did, then Mata Kunti would be dead and Pandavs would have returned at Hastinapur for revenge and got arrested or worse dead at the hands of Mahamahim Bhismeh.

Because of the disturbance at time flow, Ghatotkacha was conceived before time by a Rakshasa.

Because the Varanavat incident happened before the supposed time, Devika came into Yudhisthir's life earlier when she was supposed to come after the establishment of Indraprasht.

And just like that in the new course of events, Bua wasn't going to utter those words until you by your actions left the four Pandavs with Draupadi. She was going to be divided among the four, but your actions didn't let that happen."

Drisana's head was spinning with all these informations.

"How can life, death and marriage change? God decides these three, doesn't he?"

"God created the universe and left it to Karma (actions). He gives life and death, but the course and length of the life depends on your actions. God blesses each couple at the time of marriage with the fond hope that they would remain together and faithful for life. But, again, he does not enforce this. He leaves it upon you who you choose to spend your life with. God binds the souls, but leaves it upon you with whom you share your material pleasures."

"Why did you let it change? You could have taken me with you at Dravida while we met at Varanavat." She asked.

"Your presence will affect those around you the most. And the Pandavs hold the ability to effect the whole Aryavart. What better way to give all a fair chance than to leave you with them?" Krishna replied.

"But what about the Duyt sabha and Kurukshetra war? Draupadi isn't married to five, so the war wouldn't happen?"Drisana asked tentatively.

"What was the reason behind the war? Revenge of Draupadi's humiliation?" Krishna asked her.

"No. It was to give her justice, not revenge. The reason behind the war was the destruction of adharm and establish Dharma." Drisana said thinking and remembering.

"Exactly. You can't change someone's nature or character through the disturbance of time. The sinners may change their actions, but they most probably won't stop committing sins. So, their destruction have to happen." Krishna said looking gloomy.

"Expect the unexpected behna. Nothing will be as it was supposed to be. And you can't take responsibility of others actions." Krishna said staring at her eyes.

Silence presumed as Drisana sat contemplating what she was just told. She was overwhelmed. She didn't know how to react or what information to grasp. She had a tight leash on her emotions. She was afraid to break it lose.

"Why didn't you tell me about Dravida and Yaksini back at Varanavat?" Drisana asked sharply.

"Someone thought I was a crackpot." Krishna said with one arched eyebrow.

"Do they know?" Drisana asked, her voice not above a whisper. Krishna didn't need to ask who she meant.

"No. They knew where she took you. But they're not informed about your return. They will be soon." Krishna replied. Talking about her biological parents.

"They'll believe?" Drisana asked, wondering why they'd believe her to be the one they lost.

"They know everything. Also, there's a mark on the backside of your neck given by Suryadev himself." Krishna said gently. Drisana remembered the birthmark that remained hidden by her hair most of the times.

"I...." Drisana opened and closed her mouth a few times. The information finally sinking into her. She was numb. Not able to process it. Krishna kept his hand at her head and left leaving her alone to soak all of it.

Here, after Krishna's return he told everyone about Drisana's past. Her real identity. Leaving out the bit about her being at Kaliyug, he told them she was sent outside Aryavart by that Yaksini. Everyone was stunned by this. It was beyond their comphrension.

Nakul was worried about Drisana. She always stayed strong. But this was something he didn't wanted her to deal alone. He searched for her at all over the Palace. Finally finding her at the garden. She was sitting still at the same position that Krishna left her.

Nakul approached her. He sat beside her. Looking at her he could sense the storm behind her calm posture. He could sense her turmoil. The life she knew, the people she knew was never hers. From the way she talked about her parents, he knew she loved them. How can she accept that they were not hers? And what would have happened if she wasn't able to come back? Would she ever have known the reality?

He kept a hand on her shoulder and called her name softly. Drisana looked at him with a blank expression.

"No matter what I'm with you and I'll always be. You're mine, that's the biggest reality of yours. And no one or nothing can change that. Whatever comes, we'll face together." With Nakul's gently spoken firm words, the leash on her emotions broke. She threw herself at his arms as the sobs broke free from inside her soul. It was painful for him to bear, but he didn't stop her. Let her got it all out. He sat there holding her, being her anchor.
