《My Annoying Roommate | Hwang Hyunjin》20

I looked at Hyunjin who is still sobbing even though he looks sleepy from drinking two more bottles. I did let him even though I stopped him already. I just think he needs to drink to open up what he is feeling.
His hair slowly covered his face as he finally slept. I put his hair behind his ear to see his face clearly. To be honest, I thought Hyunjin was just acting to be an overprotective brother because it's a trend but hearing his reason changed my mind. He is doing it for a reason and he is really brave for keeping everything to himself. I wonder if he ever thought of giving up after what happened. He is having a hard time and blaming himself for what happened to Hyein. I couldn't blame him though, he is the older brother and he knows he is responsible for protecting Hyein.
I caress his cheeks carefully and wiped the tears that fell from his eyes
Just hearing him not trusting himself hurts me. I mean who wouldn't be hurt after hearing such? He protected her and did his best to protect her at all cost. It wasn't his fault but he is suffering from what happened and it looks like he is the one who can't move on. It must've hurt him to see that guy having fun and being free while Hyein can't seem to forget.
I took the extra blanket and covered him. I don't want to wake him and will let him sleep there. He will probably move to his bed once he woke up. I turned off the lights at the area where he is then I turned on the lights from his bedroom area so it won't be dark for him. I opened my phone and dialed my brother's number.

calling Aiden...
Hey
Not at all. I just got home
Good, I guess. What's up? How are you? Are you okay? What made you call this late?
You can hahaha
What's with the weird topic?
Did I ever feel guilty whenever I think I failed to protect you? Uh... I think so. I remembered when you tried drinking and I was so overprotective to you. I got mad at you and said a lot of things but at the same time I realized I was wrong. The more I stop you from doing things that will make you choose to keep it a secret from me. You will treat me as someone who is against your decision. So I changed my mindset. Instead of going against you. I chose to join you and let you explore other things as long as you have limit. I never regretted choosing that mindset because we became closer to each other and you treated me as your bestfriend
Seriously. Why did you call me?

(Next Day)
Hyunjin
I opened my eyes and saw him glaring at me. He just hit my forehead to wake me up. What a unique way of saying thank you after I stayed up all night to listen and comfort him.
he said and pulled me from my bed
He is already wearing his uniform and ready to leave. He should've left me here and let me sleep all day. How can he be so annoying? I took my towel and uniform with me as I went to the bathroom. I took a bath and did my morning routine. As I went out, I saw him sitting like a celebrity while playing with Kkami.
Hyunjin
he cut me off and just looked at his phone
I didn't answer and put a light makeup on. I tied my hair into a low pony tail. I wore my shoes and took my bag with me. I noticed him boredly looking at me.
Hyunjin
I said as I took my phone withe me and was about to leave when he pulled me
Hyunjin
He put his cap on me
he said and left
Ah, acting cool again.

2039 - Earth A narrow beam energy signal appeared aimed squarely at earth from the TRAPPIST system. The communication consisted of a layered set of repeating data over several thousand wavelengths. Over the next few months scientists discovered that the lower wavelengths carried an encoded numerical language which could then be used to interpret the more complicated messages carried on the higher wavelengths. After half a year of painstaking work the signal was fully decoded. It described a small satellite launched along a precise trajectory towards the fourth planet of our solar system. Included was a package of advanced research that humanity would need to have ready in order to receive the satellite and decelerate it safely. The alien data provided the kick that humanity needed to turn from petty squabbling and unite to explore the final frontier. Major government and corporate leaders worked together to create the framework for the United Federation of Sol. UFS spaceports went from scaffolding to daily launches in every major city around the globe. Ships floated like dandelion seeds, spreading on solar wind to grow into colonies. 2397 - Mars orbit, Egeria Station The command center was a hive of activity as checks were conducted and systems initialized. Scientists flitted by like mayflies as communicators beeped and holoscreens spat out green tinted readouts. Nervous energy was thick in the air as everyone anticipated the culmination of over three hundred years of work. Massive fusion reactors under the planet's surface thrummed with barely restrained power as energy fed into a gleaming metallic maze criss crossing the planet. Metal fingers reached up, overshadowing the mighty olympus mons and trying to grab the stars. All over the solar system, people quickly turned to look as gigantic energy lances shot from the dusty fourth planet. Two years later. The same people that clapped loudly at the successful activation of project Hermes now wait with baited breath. A silver capsule trailing bright photonic sails is captured by a net of grav beams and guided with care bordering on reverence into the station. Holoscreens across the headquarters project an image of the sleek craft settling in the bay. Data connections are established and the holoscreens blink to white. Slowly an image forms on the screen. Across the headquarters people stare in wonder as a wholly alien face stares back. "Contact established. Welcome to the universe."
8 155Rebirth of Destiny I
In a world where magical runes called Rebirths rest in the hands of hostile nations, fourteen-year-old Aiden lived a quiet life in a small town conveniently named Khalm. Born with crescent-shaped irises and silver hair, young Aiden was never bothered by his unusual birthmarks until the night his life as a simple delivery boy changed. He was the 'Rebirth Destroyer', someone ruling powers deemed a threat. Chased by death and the foretelling of the world ending by his hands, Aiden soon finds that there are few people he can trust. My stories are fantasy-based and heavily influenced by classic Final Fantasy games ( by classic I mean 1-10 ) and other Japanese Role-Playing Games I used to enjoy, with one difference; the main characters are Black. July 2022 update! After months of deliberation, I've decided to continue with this cast of characters in the next books instead. The loose ends in this story have been keeping me up all night. I've gotten started on 2 sequels to this; Rebirth of Destiny II based on the good ending and the alternative ending. After I get a good backlog built up they'll be published once a week.

8 150Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne (1870) (Completed)
In 1866, ships of several nations spot a mysterious sea monster, which some suggest is a giant narwhal. The US government assembles an expedition to find and destroy the monster. Professor Pierre Aronnax, a French marine biologist (and narrator within the story) receives a last-minute invitation to join the expedition. As the expedition travels south around Cape Horn into the Pacific Ocean, the crew finds the monster after a long search and then attack it, but the ship is damaged with the three main protagonists thrown into the water. They are quickly captured and then meet the enigmatic Captain Nemo. ~ Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea is a classic science fiction novel by French writer Jules Verne and was originally published in 1870. The novel was originally serialized between March 1869 and June 1870 in Pierre-Jules Hetzel's periodical, the Magasin d'Éducation et de Récréation.
