《Knock, Knock》Seventy-five

"Wake up sleepy head" I hear next to my ear. I smile but don't bother to open my eyes. Casey presses her lips under my earlobe, "C'mon we've got to move to your new apartment." I groan in response, not wanting to get out of bed. Casey remains still beside me. After a few seconds when I feel myself drifting back into sleep, the girl wraps her arms around my waist.

"Wake up! Wake up! Wake up!" she yells bouncing us up and down on the bed. I can't help but laugh at her childish tactics. I tap her arms, "Okay. I'm up, I'm up" I lie. She hums, hovering over my body, "You don't look like you're up. Your eyes are still closed."

With my eyes still closed I open my mouth and shake my head, "Oh my gosh, Casey are you blind? My eyes are definitely open."

She rests her chin on my shoulder, unmovingly. After a moment of silence, I peek my eye open, immediately spotting her staring at me with an amused expression. I groan again, "Fine, Casey. I'm up. What time is it?" I push her away from me in annoyance. "8:37" she answers causing me to glare at her.

She can only smile sweetly before rushing out of the room in only a tank and boxers. I force myself from the bed, knowing if I did end up going back to sleep that she'd return with water possibly freezing water.

That was something I wasn't looking forward to. I follow behind my girlfriend, finding her in the kitchen. Immediately the smell of bacon and pancakes fill my nostrils. "It smells good in here" I admit, making my way to her. I wrap my arms around her waist as I bring my lips to her neck.

"Are you excited to move?"

Casey turns her head towards me with a smile plastered on her beautiful lips. "Oh, is it because you'll get to see Bella more often?" I tease. Immediately Casey's mood changes. I laugh in response. "That's not funny Kathryn. Suddenly I don't even want to go with you anymore" she pouts.

I watch as she continues cooking. My attention leaves my girlfriend the moment I hear knocking at my door. Removing myself from my girlfriend, I make sure my appearance is decent before making my way over to the door. I open the door, coming face to face with Emily and Edwin. "Oh hi, you guys are early" I mutter.

Emily moves me aside, entering my apartment. Edwin smiles at the woman, following in suit. "Yes, please come in" I spit sarcastically at the two. "Casey you better be making breakfast for two extra people" Edwin and Emily boss the girl around.

"Oh did you guys see the news?" Edwin questions, eyes moving between my girlfriend and I. I raise my brows in confusion, glancing at the brown-skinned girl, hoping she knew what he was talking about. "Who the hell watches the news Eddie?" she hisses.

The brunette sighs, "Mr. Rossen was arrested."

I bite on my bottom lip, already aware of the information. Hell, all of us already knew about it. I frown, realizing Edwin wasn't informed about anything that happened the past few months. I have Casey to thank for that. But since things were calmed down, I guess it would be a good idea to tell him.

I open my mouth but Casey quickly stops me. "Don't Ryn."

The boy looks between us in confusion. Casey exits the kitchen, wiping her palms against her boxers, eyes landing on Edwin. "Am I missing something?" he questions.

His best friend smiles and shakes her head, "No, I was just coming to tell you two that I ran out of bacon, so unfortunately no breakfast for you two." Emily frowns, "No fair, we came early for you two and you can't even treat us to breakfast. Shame."

The mood changes quickly, turning from serious to playful. "We've got rat poison if you're dead set on eating here" Casey jokes.

The blonde rolls her eyes, "You better be glad Sophia fed me before I left."

"I just offered you rat poison, I'm such a good friend."

"Fuck you" the blonde hisses with a pout. Casey quickly glances at me with wide eyes, "Babe, your best friend is trying to seduce me now. You shouldn't trust her."

Emily removes her shoe and tosses it towards Casey, missing entirely as it hits the wall behind her. The two burst into a fit of laughter. I try to ignore noticing that Edwin wasn't speaking anymore. Maybe it's better I didn't tell him.

I cock my head to the side, my eyes glued to the toned stomach of my girlfriend as sweat rolled from the valley between her breasts and down her abs. She is sexy.

Feeling a nudge on my side, I turn spotting a smirking Christian. "I understand that you are very attracted to my daughter but Kathryn, your gay is showing." I can't help but laugh at his comment, forcing my eyes away from the curly-haired girl. "Right, I apologize."

I enter the building, catching the elevator back up to my old floor with Edwin. The atmosphere is comfortable, well that is until we get to the 2nd floor. "Is there something you and Casey aren't telling me?" he questions.

The question causes me to choke on my spit as I try to think of a believable lie. "Uh" I trail, not sure how to answer his question. Yes, Edwin was my friend but I didn't consider us close enough for me to give the details of my traumatic experience. But I believed that it was important for all of my friends to at least know certain things.

We made it to the floor. The doors opened and we stepped off the tin can. "There is something we're not telling you" I spit honestly. I glance at the young boy, "I-- Edwin, I'm not trying to exclude you from the mix but it's not really something I want you to know about. Nor is it really important for you to know. If I did tell you or if Casey did, there isn't anything you could do to change how everything went."

He nods his head, "Am I the only one who doesn't know?"

"No. The only ones informed on the situation are the Kings, Emily and Sophia" I admit.

He frowns, "Why does Cassandra know? I mean I respect your wish for me to be excluded but I don't know. It feels wrong that Cassandra would know and I wouldn't. Casey's my best friend."

"And Cassandra is her sister. There's only so much I can hide from her, especially since I stayed with their parents for a while." Our conversation is cut short but Duke, exiting my apartment with two boxes labeled 'Fragile'.

Edwin doesn't say anything else as he moves away from me to help the blonde. Sighing, I get back to work. I make my way back into my apartment, spotting Jasmine and Emily in my kitchen eating. I raise my brows, approaching the two women, "I'm pretty sure we're supposed to be packing and not eating" I spit.

The two don't even turn to acknowledge my presence as they continue stuffing their faces. Rolling, my eyes I decide to ignore them as they're doing to me. My feet guide me into my bedroom, noticing that no one started taking the bed apart. I jump slightly as I feel arms wrap around my waist.

"There so many memories in this apartment" Casey whispers into my ear. I smile in agreement, my eyes moving around the room.

"Remember when she first moved in and you were having sex with your friend?" another voice is heard. Casey groans in annoyance, turning towards the door. I do the same and of course, a certain blonde stands in the doorway with a smirk. "Why did you have to bring that up?" Casey whines.

Emily laughs, "It's hilarious! And then you skipped school and gave me such a terrible excuse." She continues laughing, struggling to catch her breath, "Stomach bug, HA!" I purse my lips in order to stop myself from laughing. It was as if that day was only yesterday. I'm so happy I decided to move in that day.

Maybe had I decided to wait a day before moving in, our lives wouldn't have crossed the way they did. Maybe Casey would still be sleeping around and I'd still be in a relationship with Thomas. Maybe all of the things that happened these past few months, would not have gone down the way they did.

Would I have rather been in that other life? I wouldn't have gone through the traumatic experience that I did. My eyes land on the two bickering, causing me to smile. No. I'm happy with the life I was granted, I got to meet a wonderful person and fall in love with her. If being with her means I had to go through what I did, I'd pick this life a million times over any other one.
