《Knock, Knock》Forty-five

I smirk as I step in between her legs, loving the sensation from our skin-to-skin contact. I squeeze her thighs, my eyes travelling to her swollen red lips. Her eyes do the same as mine and I watch her hesitate. I smirk, knowing very well that she was craving the same exact thing I had been dreaming about doing all day.

There was just something extremely addicting about Kathryn Howard. A force pulling me to her, I was drawn to her and honestly, there might not be a moment of realization. I bite my lip and move away, knowing if I had stayed there a bit longer, she could've possibly lost her job.

"I've got to get back to class" I whisper keeping my eyes away from her lips, that called out to me so desperately. Kathryn eyes me as she nods her head with a timid smile. "Yeah, you do that. I don't need to hear any of your teachers complain about you taking your time to use the restroom," she teases.

I chuckle and nod my head as I walk backward and out of the classroom. I let out a breath and shake my head as my feet force me back towards my 3rd-period class. I only wanted to spend time with Kathryn. I bite down on my lip as I enter my classroom grabbing not only my classmates' attention but my teachers' as well.

"Miss Kings, you were gone nearly the rest of the lesson" Mrs. Harrison spits displeased with my actions. I rub my stomach and faux discomfort. "I'm sorry, my stomach started bothering me. I think the bug I had last week hasn't fully left my body" I lie.

The older woman eyes me before sighing and pointing to my seat. I nod my head. By the time the bell rings for our next period, I'm called to stay behind for a few minutes. The older woman peels off her spectacles and lets out a puff of air.

"Casey you're a smart girl and I get that you're young" she begins. She moves around her desk and stops just in front of me. "But lying to me isn't going to make these next few months move any faster. What were you doing for the majority of my class?" she questions.

I swallow the lump in my throat. What was a better lie than saying I had an upset stomach? I couldn't tell her I was too busy trying to stop my impulses to jump my girlfriend in her classroom. The brunette sighs as she chews on her glasses. "Miss Kings, I'm going to assume you were with your girlfriend or boyfriend."

I clench my jaw and nod in agreement. Mrs. Harrison shakes her head, "Are they more important than your education? Casey, as I've said before, you're a smart girl. You're passing all your classes with flying colors but that doesn't give you an excuse to skip or use your restroom time to make out with them."

I nod my head, not really caring about this mini-lecture. "You could be helping other students better understand the lesson..."

Her gray eyes glance at me in disappointment. "You do know I'm going to have to assign you with detention, correct?" I clench my jaw and nod my head. This would be my first detention since I've been born.

"I'll see you during Lunch then, Miss Kings. Now get to class and if you're late tell them you were with me."

Fourth period went by in a flash. I stood from my chair, dismissing Jasmine from trying to pull me towards the lunchroom. Before I could exit the class, in came the intoxicating brunette who powers every cell in my body. My heart immediately picks up at the sight of her but I frown when I notice the displeased look on her face.

"You got detention?" she questions, startling me.

I clear my throat as I nod my head. Of course, this grabs Emily's attention as well. "Casey Kings? Detention? No way."

I bite on my lip. I didn't want to ruin her image of perfect Casey Kings who never gets in trouble. But I was going to have to. "I actually have to go. I'll talk to you after lunch" I say eyeing Kathryn. She shakes her head, "You can see me at home. We need to talk."

I clench my jaw as I nod my head. I didn't like her tone. I exit the classroom and head towards my detention. I was happy it would only last 45 minutes, then I was free to head home. But now that my brain was racing with the heavy words Kathryn said to me just seconds ago, I wasn't sure I wanted to go home.

I groan as I enter Mrs. Harrison's classroom. Her gray eyes follow me to my seat. I keep quiet as I notice only one other student in here as well. Just after 15 minutes, Mrs. Harrison gets a phone call that forces her out of the classroom. The student who was also serving detention turned his attention to me.

"What you'd get detention for?" he questions.

I raise my brows, "I uh... I went to go see my girlfriend while I was supposed to use the restroom."

The boy nods his head with a smile, "Same. Well, uh, boyfriend. We were just about to go into the restroom when she spotted us and told me to get back to class. And now here we are."

I chuckle, sounds like a coincidence. "I'm Sammy by the way. I don't think I've seen you here before, are you new this year?" I shake my head, "Not at all. I've been here all four years. And the names Casey."

The boy chuckles, "Casey? As in Casey Lopez or Casey Kings?"

"Kings, why?"

He just smirks. "Someone's been spreading rumors about you. Supposedly you're sleeping around with one of the teachers, not sure which one. If I had to pick for you it'd probably be Mrs. Evans. She's totally your type."

My brows raise at the mention of rumors. I knew for a fact my friends wouldn't start any stupid rumors like this, so who did? I chuckle out awkwardly, "A teacher? Yeah right. None of these women here are exactly my type."

Before we could continue our conversation Mrs. Harrison entered the classroom with a look of grief. "Uh, you two can head out early. I'll see you two next week."

She didn't have to tell us twice. As soon as the words left her mouth Sammy was out of the room about as quick as Flash was. I followed in suit, eyeing my teacher once more before exiting the classroom and heading towards my friends. I find all three of them in the cafeteria, talking animatedly about god knows what.

The closer I get, the quicker my eyes pick up the unfamiliar face at the table. I clear my throat and wedge myself in between Jasmine and Edwin. "Uh, who's this?" I question looking at the dark-haired girl sitting far too close to Duke.

Her hazel eyes scan over my face as if trying to see if I posed a threat. She smiled after a few seconds, "Desire Hartley, Duke's girlfriend."

The blonde makes a face but doesn't say anything as he continues to eat. I nod my head and ignore her presence as I speak with my friends. "I think I did something, Kathy seemed angry with me after class" I groan rubbing the back of my neck.

Edwin chuckles, "Well, maybe it's because you skipped the first week back to school, and then when you came back you used every class period to go and see her."

I scoff, "I didn't skip the first week. I was sick. I couldn't come here and get everyone else sick. But I doubt it's has anything to do with me skipping... this guy in detention just told--"

"Detention? Casey, you never get detention" Edwin and Duke spit.

I wave off their comment as I continue what I was saying before they decided to interrupt me. "He told me that there are some rumors going around about me. And a teacher..." I hiss. I eye the three of my closest friends waiting for their reaction. I sigh in relief as they all give me the reaction I wanted. I would be devastated if one of them betrayed me.

"That's not good. They'll be watching you now" Duke sighs.

His dark-haired friend speaks up, causing me to remember her already unwanted presence. "Wait so you are fucking a teacher?"

I eye her in annoyance. "No, Destiny. I am not fucking a teacher" I hiss causing her to roll her eyes. "It's Desire."

"Of course, Disappointment."

The girl scoffs and ignores me as she rubs Duke's arms rather desperately. I shake my head and glance towards the entrance of the cafeteria spotting both Mrs. Evans and Kathryn speaking with the principal. I bite on my cheek as I watch the man speak to them. Had the rumors already reached the teachers and staff? Who was it that started the rumors? Was Kathryn's job in jeopardy?

I was pacing back and forward. Every time my eyes lifted from my carpeted floor, they landed on the ticking clock. I inhale and exhale as I wait for Kathryn's distinct knock at my door. Did she want to talk to me about the rumors? Or was she going to punish me for getting detention?

The more I seemed to worry about the topic of the matter, the harder my heart pumped. The harder my heart pummeled against my ribcage, the sweatier I got. I was going to go insane.

My ears perk at the sound of Kathryn's knock at my door. I wipe my sweaty palms on my jeans as I inhale and make my way to the door. I bite on my lip as I slowly let out a breath. I unlock and open my door, brown eyes landing on me.

I clench my jaw as I step aside to let her in. She does. She sets her purse down on the table before turning towards me and crossing her arms over her chest. Yep, I was a dead man.

"Detention Casey..." she lets out a breath and closes her eyes. I watch the brunette shake her head displeased with my actions. "It's my first one" I try to make the situation better.

Her hard gaze meets mine, "It doesn't matter if it's your first or your last. What were you thinking!" she hisses. I open my mouth to speak but she cuts me off. "This is getting out of hand. Not only did you get detention but there are rumors starting Casey."

I suck in a breath. So the rumors did in fact get to the teachers. "And guess who was the first person Principal Espinoza came to when the rumors reached the staff?" she questions. I don't answer, knowing well enough it was rhetorical. We both knew she was the first person he talked to.

I swallow the lump in my throat. "Are you suggesting we break up?" I question feeling a bit heartbroken. The brunette sighs and drops her arms to her sides. "No. That's not what I'm suggesting. I'm suggesting that maybe we should keep ourselves under wraps. Casey the skipping class to come see me needs to stop. I get that as a new couple we like to be around each other a lot. But we need to tone it down a notch."

"And maybe, we should stop going out in public together, especially with these rumors spreading like wildfire. I don't want one of those students to see me being too friendly with you."

I bite on my cheek and nod my head, understanding our situation. It didn't mean I liked the idea of having to spend less time with my girlfriend. Kathryn notices my attitude change. She offers a small smile as she approaches me. She grabs my hands and pulls me closer. The room immediately shines as she smiles up at me.

"Just so you know, I'm really mad at you for getting detention." I lick my lips and chuckle softly, "Really? Maybe you should punish me so I can learn my lesson" I tease. I lean into the woman, placing my lips close to hers. She smiles before I feel her lips on my own. "As much as I know you would love that, I have already agreed to hang out with Em this evening. You'll have to wait until the weekend."

I groan and wrap my arms around her, not wanting her to leave me. Kathryn laughs against my neck, "You had me all last week. You can live." She kisses the base of my neck before moving from under my arms. She grabs her purse and blows me a kiss before exiting my apartment.

I bite my lip, realizing that I wouldn't be able to spend time with Kathryn like I wanted to. That was the risk of dating a teacher, you practically had to give up your ideal relationship.
