《Knock, Knock》Thirty-two

"Alright" I clap my hands together, ready to get this day over with. I glance back at the board, "I remember on Monday I helped you all with half the packet and expected the other half to be finished yesterday. So today we're going to go over the other half" I say and glance at my students. Many of them were out of it. But that was to be expected, especially with finals right around the corner.

I sat on my desk and folded my arms across my chest. "Who wants to go first?" I question. No one's hand rose. I let out a breath. Did they know this wasn't for me? "If you participate and get the answers correct I'll add it to your final grade" I add. This causes my students to seem more interested in their education.

I smile in response and pick a student to read out and answer the first question. Not even 10 minutes into the study, there's a knock on my door. I groan and walk over to the door, opening it, my eyes landing on dark ones. I sigh and raise my brows in question.

"Are you free tonight? I want to take you out on a date" Mr. Rossen smiles.

I roll my eyes, "You do know I'm in the middle of class right?" I question in annoyance. The man smiles, "Is that a yes?" "No. I have plans. Please leave me alone."

I close the door and let out a breath hoping to get back into my lesson.

My day was halfway over. I had 2 classes left then I get to go home. I frown in confusion. Would Casey pick me at home? Suddenly I was curious about our plans. Did she want me to drive to her parent's house? I let out a breath. "I always forget you have two off periods back to back" I hear. My lips curl upwards into a smile as I glance over spotting Casey.

I hadn't seen her all day but here she was looking as breathtaking as ever. Her hair was straightened unlike usual which kind of made me miss her curls. I could also notice light makeup. "Are you wearing makeup?" I question slightly surprised. The girl smiles and glances down at her hands, "Uh yeah... is it ugly?"

I shake my head, "Not at all. You look beautiful. What's the occasion?" Casey enters my classroom and stops on the side of my desk with a wide smile. "Well, I was thinking you and I could go out to eat after school."

My smile widens as I reach over to grab her hand, "I would love to but it's not fair that you look 100 times better than me" I flirt.

Casey scoffs as she intertwines our fingers, "Ms. Howard, you are mistaken. Even like this, I have nothing on your beauty. You are a walking masterpiece."

I lick my bottom lip in response to her comment. She smirks and raises her brows, her eyes landing on the stack of papers on my desk. "Need help grading those?" I nod my head. Casey chuckles as she grabs a chair and sets it on side of me. She sits down and grabs half the load and setting it in front of her. My eyes watch the girl in amusement.

"The more you watch me the less work that will get done and it will cut into our alone time" Casey teases. Her lips curl upwards as she glances over at me.

"How exactly do you expect me to work? You're distracting" I defend my case. The brunette shrugs her shoulders, "Am I really?" she teases. I watch her hand drop from the desk and land on my leg. I suck in a sharp breath and try to focus my mind on the work in front of me. Casey knew what she was doing. And quite frankly, I didn't think she was sorry for her actions.

I bite onto my cheek in hopes that I wouldn't react to her touch. "What's your full name?" she questions, not bothering to move her hand. "Aren't these questions usually saved for a first date kind of thing?" I ask with a teasing smile.

"Just answer the question."

I roll my eyes and oblige, "Kathryn Elizabeth Howard" I blush. "Kathryn Elizabeth? That's really cliche" Casey teases. I move my hand to hers and pinch her skin causing her to wince. "I'm sorry my parents were too lazy to come up with something more unique. What about you?"

The brown-skinned girl laughs, "Uh. Casey Annise Devyn Kings."

"Devyn?" I question, not really expecting the second middle name. "My dad wanted a son after Cassandra but when I was born he realized I was another girl. And by that time he already decided on another name for a boy but he still wanted to name me Devyn, to which my mother denied but allowed it to be my middle name."

"For real?" I question. The girl laughs, "Of course not. Annise is my only middle name. My mom would much rather have a heart attack before giving me a boy's name."

I let out a low chuckle. I kinda liked the idea of Devyn being her middle name. "May I ask you about your race or is that....?" I trail. Casey glances up from the papers in front of her before her eyes land on me. "I'm mixed with Indian. Not native American. My grandma on my mom's side is from India."

"That's pretty cool. Do you know what part of India?" I question with a smile. Casey shakes her head, "My grandma never really cared to tell us. She said we should be grateful we live here, which I think is a load of bull."

"I'm grateful you live here. Otherwise, I would have never met you and I'd still be in a miserable relationship with Thomas." Casey smiles and her hand squeezes my thigh. "What about you? What's your race?"

I sigh and glance at the packets in front of me. "Uh, I'm German or rather mixed with it." The girl smiles, "That's kind of hot." I nod my head with a smile, "Don't expect me to speak german either. I never got to learn and I'm too busy with my life to learn anything now."

Before our conversation could continue there's a knock at my door. I frown and glance around Casey, spotting none other than Rai Rossen. I frown. "Can I help you?" I question standing from my chair. Casey's hand drops from my leg and immediately I miss the warmth. I let out a breath as I make my way to the persistent teacher.

"Shouldn't your girlfriend be in class?" he questions with a smug smile. I roll my eyes, not bothered to answer his question. "Is there something you need from me?" I spit.

"I was coming by to see if you thought my proposal over? You know going with me out to dinner" he spoke rather loudly, wanting to get a reaction from Casey. "I already told you this morning that I had plans. Why would I cancel my plans to compensate you?"

The man shrugs his shoulders, his hands moving past me and landing on the small of my back. I inhale sharply, feeling very uncomfortable with his touch. My body tenses as he moves his hand further south. I couldn't react as he continued to sexually assault me. I felt as defenseless as I did the night he tried taking advantage of me.

I close my eyes and take in another sharp breath. His rough lips are felt against my ear. "Did I mention I was on my way to the principal's office? Agree to dinner or I'm telling him about your inappropriate affair with your student" his rough voice threatens.

Before I can open my mouth to refuse his offer another set of hands replace his. I hear the man wince. I open my eyes just in time to see Emily pulling him away from me. Tears well in my eyes as I notice Casey pulling me back into the classroom. "Hey, hey, hey, it's okay. I got you" she whispers and pulls me into a hug.

I cry against her shoulder, realizing once again that I was unsafe around that man. I don't speak as she comforts me. "Kathryn we're going to the principal now" Emily's voice was heard. I sniff and pull away from Casey. I nod my head in defeat. "I'll stay here and grade the rest of these papers, you go take care of business" Casey smiles.

I nod my head again. Emily pulls me out of the classroom and towards her class. She peeks her head inside, "I'm going to the office, please behave" she demands. She closes her door and walks silently with me to the office.

The silence was crushing me. "That asshole really tried to pull that off during school hours. He must be stupid. I'm so happy Casey was there and I'm so glad I came out of my classroom in time."

I don't speak as we near the office. "I don't know where he ran off to, but if I see him again, I'm going to personally make sure he's not able to ever have kids."

I laugh at her remark. We make it to the office and enter. "Good afternoon Mrs. Evans, Ms. Howard" Mr. Harry smiles. Emily returns the smile and we head into the principals' office. The man was sitting in his chair on the phone. His eyes land on us and he welcomes us in. He pulls the phone away from his ear and presses the hold button. "What can I help you, two ladies, with?"

I don't speak up, which forces Emily to. "We need to do something about Rai Rossen" she spits. She forces me into one of the chairs. The man's face contorts into confusion he glances between the two of us waiting for answers.

Emily sighs, "He's sexually harassing and assaulting Ms. Howard. Today I walked out of my classroom to find him touching her inappropriately."

Mr. Espinoza frowns, his hazel eyes landing on me sadly. "Ms. Howard, why haven't you come to me about this?" he questions. I glance down at my hands, "Because he scares me. I know that if I told you there's no saying what he would do to me outside of school" I admit.

The man sighs. "When did this start?"

"Before Thanksgiving. At first, I thought he was just being really nice because he was just a nice person. But on Thanksgiving day he came to my house and he forced himself onto me... and ever since then he's been threatening me to go places with him or date him."

I could see the sympathy and anger in the principal's face as he stared at me. He frowned. "Okay Ms. Howard, what I'm going to do is call the cops. Once they arrive I need you to tell them everything you just told me. Mrs. Evans can testify that you are indeed telling the truth. They'll make you file a restraining order and I'll have to fire him."

I nod my head. "I'm sorry this is happening to you, if there's anything else I can do, please don't hesitate to ask."

"Thank you," Emily says. She squeezes my shoulders before pulling me out of the office. "See, that was easy. Now, all we have to do is wait and everything will be taken care of."

I nod my head. Though I knew I would no longer have to deal with the man at school, I knew he knew where I lived. Not exactly the apartment number but that didn't mean he couldn't wait for me or stalk me. I didn't want to think about it anymore. Instead, I head back to my classroom and close the door behind me. I lean against the door and close my eyes.

"How did it go?" Casey's voice startles me. I open my eyes and stare at the girl. She smiles softly at me and pats the chair beside her for me to sit. I let out a breath and walk towards her. Instead of sitting in my chair, I straddle her lap causing her to smile wider. I wrap my arms around her neck and lay my head down on her shoulder.

I was happy when I was finally able to go home. Mr. Rossen had tried to tell the principal about my relationship with Casey Kings but I had Emily there with me who also denied the claim. It was two against one and he had no viable evidence I was messing around with a student. Unfortunately, Mr. Espinoza couldn't fire him until after finals because it was hard to find subs during that time.

My mind was on something more important. And so were my eyes. I smile at the girl leaning against my car. "What are you doing here?" I question unlocking my car.

"I decided we could go in your car, save us the trouble and time." I smile and nod my head. We get into the car and my eyes glance around in search of a stalker. Seeing there was no one I start the car and pull out of the parking lot. "Where am I heading?" I question.

"My parent's house. I figured we'd get you a change of clothes tomorrow morning in case a particular asshole tries to see you tonight. How'd it go by the way?"

"Well, we have a hearing on Wednesday. Unfortunately, he won't be fired until next Friday after all the finals are completed. Oh and to add on to that I'm pretty sure he's got something up his sleeve now. His little 'telling on us' backfired so I'm sure he's going to try something."

Casey frowns, "That's bullshit! Why don't men understand the word 'NO'?"

I shake my head. Men were persistent and hated rejection. Well most anyway. My eyes land on the brunette beside me, noticing her typing away on her phone. I smile and reach over plucking the device from her hands and shoving it in between my legs. "You're not thinking about staying on your phone the whole weekend are you?" I bite my lip. My eyes go back to the road as I wait for an answer.

I hear her scoff before feeling her hand in between my thighs. I swallow hard and bite down on my cheek. "I'm telling my parents that we're on the way. There's no way my phone is more interesting than you, babe."

The pet name causes me to blush as she retrieves her mobile device. We were definitely going to have a long weekend. I could hardly wait to spend more time with her.

The rest of the car ride is spent with small talk about anything. Once we arrive at her parent's house, I notice no cars were in the driveway. I furrow my brows and glance towards my girlfriend. "Where are your parents?" I question.

"Already left. Let's head inside. I was going to take you out to eat but the thing with Mr. Rossen happened and I didn't want to chance it."

I frown in response. I knew she was only being protective about my safety but I wanted to be seen out with her. Which also wasn't the smartest of ideas because not only was she a student but she's 8 years younger than me.

At times, I seriously hated the law. We head inside and I'm hit with the aroma of apple pie and something else that causes my stomach to growl.

My mouth salivates at the thought of being able to eat her father's cooking again. The man was almost as good as my mom when it came to cooking. "Whoa, someone's hungry" Casey teases as she closes the door.

We walk further into the home, the smell only getting stronger. My stomach growls again causing me to blush. Casey chuckles, "C'mon let's eat."

"I could almost marry your father" I smile with my hand resting on my stomach. Casey gasps placing her hand across her heart. "Over me?" she pouts.

"Can you cook like your father can?"

The girl doesn't answer the question as she rolls her eyes and walks away from the table. I follow behind her with a laugh. "I'm just joking baby. I'll pick you over food any day," I smirk, " unless it's your dad who's cooking."

The girl groans causing me to chuckle and cling to her. She tries to ignore me as we walk to her room. "So what are we going to do for the rest of the day?" I question once we get to her room.

"This might sound a bit cheesy, but we should definitely stargaze."

I find myself smiling at her suggestion. I didn't expect Casey Kings to be the kind to want to stargaze. You know what they say, don't judge a book by its cover. "That sounds perfect" I admit. She turns to me with a wide smile.
