"Terra honey, it was great to have you come to church with us!" My mom gives Terra a big hug before going inside with my dad.

I say outside for a few moments, "so how was it?"

Terra laughs, "not as bad as I thought it would be."

I smile, "I'm glad." We stand in a comfortable silence for a moment before I break it, "want to come inside? I'm sure my parents would mind."

Terra nods her head, "sure I'd like that."

We walk up the path and inside. Mom and dad must've already went up to their room because the living room and kitchen is empty. Terra follows me to the kitchen.

Opening the fridge I grab the strawberries.

"You're no longer grounded?" Terra ask while I wash the strawberries.

"Uhh, no. I'm still pretty much grounded. Now I just have driving privileges. Good thing to, because taking the bus sucked."

Terra chuckles, "well I'm glad you have driving privileges."

She continues to watch me as I slice up a few strawberries and put them in separate Bowles. When I'm done I put the remaining strawberries in the fridge and grab the canned whipped cream. Topping both the Bowles with whipped cream I had one to her along with a forked.

"This is the sweetest thing we have." I say with a shrug.

"Sweetest thing. I would beg to differ."

I roll my eyes with a smirk. We make our way out of the kitchen and to the living room, where we both take a seat on the couch. Taking the tv remote I flip through Netflix before settling on The Bee Movie.

"Are you driving back for school tomorrow?"

She shook her head, "No, I'll just skip."

"Why don't you transfer here since you're always here?"

Terra shrugs, "I don't know. I've thought about it, but I could never leave my mom."

"Your moms all by herself?"

"No, she has a boyfriend, but I don't like or trust him."

"You're an only child?"

"No, all of my siblings are older. 2 older brothers and 3 older sisters."

I nod my head, "it's weird that I know you, but I don't really know you."

"That's how it plays out sometimes." She smiles at me. Her warm brown eyes are captivating. Her smiles brings butterflies to my stomach. Is this a crush?

"Where are you staying tonight?"

"I'll probably crash with Grace. Speaking of which I should probably ask her if she's home."

Grace. I like her. Liked? Feelings are complicated right now. I watched her pull out her phone and begin texting. Seconds later her phone went off it's a FaceTime call.

"Terra, I cant type right now, but what's up?"

She adjusted her phone, "nothing. Just wanted to know if I can crash with you tonight."

I guess they made up. Well that's good. Good for them, but probably disastrous for me. I don't want to ruin their friendship.

"I'm staying with Tyler, but yah. Before that though, there's a bonfire tonight. Come on out."

Terra glanced at me, "it's a school night though."

"Exactly, most of the seniors are skipping first and second period. Some of the juniors will also." I could see her raising her eye brows with a big grin on her face.

"I don't know."

"Come on, it's a welcome back to school bonfire. It'll be fun, when do you ever say no to fun?"

I could see the look in Terra's face. She wanted to go, "we'lol be there." I speak for her and she looks at me with bug eyes.

"Yes! Okay, it's starting at 10:30 and it's going until two or three. I'll send you the address."

"Okay," Terra says sounding very unsure.

"Kay, bye see y'all in a bit."

And with that the phone call ends.

"Are you sure about this?"

I nod my head, "these bonfires are legendary. It'll be fun."

"But your parents. I don't want you to get in trouble."

"I'm already in so much trouble. They just over react. I'm going. "

Terra shakes her head, "okay, what's the plan."

"Well..."

"You're sure your parents won't find out about you sneaking out?" Terra asks for the millionth time.

I shrug, "it doesn't matter. The most they'll do is take away my car again. It'll be okay. Pull into the right," I point out giving her instructions.

"Okay," we pull into the parking lot.

I grab the blankets I brought and we get out the car making our way into the woods. I know exactly where we're going.

"Terra, Brooke y'all made it!" Grace greets us.

"So this is the fun?" Terra asks looking around.

"It'll be even more fun when the keg arrives, " Grace smirks. Her face is lit up by the huge bond fire.

A lot of people are already standing around talking, not yet holding red solo cups though.

"Everyone just waiting for the ke-" Terra didn't even get to finish her sentence before a bunch of guys came our direction.

"We got them!" Everyone shouts and hollers. In seconds everyone's holding their own cup.

"I got the goodies," Tyler comes over and winks.

"Already rolled?" Terra raises and eyebrow and returns his smirk.

"You already know."

When did they get all buddy buddy? Ignoring them I set the blankets out besides the fire to stay warm. Terra, Tyler and Grace soon, came to sit next to me. They already lit the smoke and were passing it around.

"Grace there you are!" Jackie came running over to us and stood above Grace.

"Oh hey what's up?" She blew out a puff of smoke and looked up at her.

"Are you staying here, or coming with Dana and I?"

"Where are you going?" Her eyebrows scrunched.

"This isn't our scene this is for the preps, but theres a lake and that's my scene." She wiggles her eyebrows.

"Wouldn't it be cold?"

"Freezing, but that's not the point. Everyone usually gravitates that way eventually."

Grace looks at Tyler, "Why not?" He said standing up, "are y'all coming?" He turned towards Terra and I?

Terra turns towards me, "um, sure?" I say, ask, suggest? I don't know. All I know is I don't want to be the reason Terra is missing out and not having fun.

"Let's go then!" Jackie grabs Graces wrist and pulls her away.

Terra takes me hand and helps me get up. Not having much time I take the blankets without shaking them off and run after them.

We leave the warm spot by the bonfire, along with the drinks, and music and go deeper in the woods. I guess this is more me? I don't care much to have a hangover for school, so this is better in a way.

We all reach the lake and people are already set up. How they got a truck out here? No clue. But they have 3 trucks the backs are rigged with lights, and have blankets in the back along with pillows. They have to belong to the guys, they always only ever have on agenda.

"Last one in is a rotten egg!" Dana yells and everyone begins shedding their clothes down to their underwear and bras.

Following suit I stripped down. Terra takes my hand and we go to the dock.

"This doesn't look sturdy enough to hold us," I say as we walk down and it moving back and forth.

"Good thing we're not going to be on here long," still holding my hand she runs to the end and jumps off taking me with her.

The freezing cold lake water engulfs me. I'm only under for a second before I resurface.

"Fuck it's cold!" Terra shouts laughing.

"It is!" Dana whines.

We make our way over to the group.

"Who thought this would be a good idea?" Tyler asks.

We all laugh and start splashing each other.

"Let's play chicken!" Grace suggests. She slaps Tyler back so he gah go under water, and she hops on his shoulders, "Ahh! It's colder up here!"

Dana and Jackie get on the other guys shoulders, while Terra shrugs and dives underwater, only to come up under me. I squeal as I'm up in the air. Soon we're all fighting against each other.

I laugh as Jackie attempts to push Grace down, but fails and goes down herself. Dana tries to push me down, but ends up going down herself. Grace and I go at it, she ends up winning.

"You let her win," Terra laugh helping me stand up.

"Did not! You let my leg go!" I laugh along with her.

"Maybe I did, maybe I didn't." She wiggles her eyebrows and I push her away.

Grace shouts at Tyler to put her down as he grabs her brings her above the water and dunks her under. Everyone laughs along with Tyler as Grace gasps for air.

"It's cold," my teeth clatter as I whisper to Terra.

She nods her head and takes my hand. Together we walk out the water.

"Y'all done already?" Jackie asks.

We turn back and nod our heads. Terra goes over and grabs my blanket. After shaking it off she wraps it around me. I smile up at her. She does the same to the other blanket for her.

We then proceed to go and sit up in one of the trucks. I let Terra get comfortable before I sat down next to her. As I did so she opened her arms and pulled me close. Snuggling closer to her we watched as the other splashed around in the water.
