Grace and I. I don't know what to think. How to feel. I'm confused by the whole situation. I think I like her. Like, like like her. I'm not so straight after all.
My thoughts bombard me as I sit on the plane sitting next to her. We had a wonderful few days. Watching the thanksgiving parade, seeing the Statue of Liberty, and the Empire State Building. I would say my first trip to New York was a success.
My parents however are already flipping out. They're meeting us at the airport, so I am in no rush whatsoever to land. I'm going to be grounded for life, and they're never going to let me see Grace ever again.
I groan.
"What are you thinking about?" Grace leans her head towards me.
"My parents grounding me for life," I put my head in my hands and lean back.
"Hey, at least now you can say you've been to New York."
I playfully slap her shoulder, "Grace this isn't funny. They're growing to ground me for life! To top it off they're not going to let me see you anymore!"
"That's the sad part?" She questioned with a smile on her face, "not being able to see me anymore?"
I pouted out my bottom lip, "if I can't see you I can't see Cali."
She smirked seeing through my lie, "mhm okay. I see how it is," she turns the other way.
"I'm playing," I grab her face forming her to turn towards me, "of course I'm worried about not seeing you anymore."
Our foreheads press up against each other's.
"I can always easily sneak you out, or you can sneak me in."
"True," I sigh.
"Ladies and gentlemen we will be landing soon. Please fasten your seatbelts," the Pilot says over the intercom.
I groan. Here we go.
✈️✈️☹️☹️✂️✂️
"WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?" My mother continues to yell at me as we get out the car.
They had made a whole scene at the airport embarrassing the heck out of me and now they continue to yell at me now. I grab my stuff out of the trunk. I feel like I'm doing the walk of shame.
"I want your phone, your car keys, your laptop, EVERYTHING!" My mother proceeds to go on as we walk inside the house.
I don't even try to argue. Simply pull my phone out of my pocket and hand it to her. I know the routine by now.

"Brooklyn I don't think that you understand how much trust we lost in you," my father begins his speech as we walk into the dining room. I take a seat as he goes on, "going halfway across the country without our knowledge. What were you think? Why didn't you just ask?"
I look up at him, "if I had asked you would've said no."
"You don't know, because you didn't ask. There will be consequences to your actions. More grave then the last time you disobeyed us," my mother appeared behind him, "We're taking your bedroom door, so you can sneak off, and bolting your windows shut so no one can sneak in. There will be a security system with cameras set up all over the house. Nothing will happen without us knowing about it."
"Wait my door?" I raised my voice, "don't you think your over reacting just a little bit? A security system? Cameras? Dad come on!"
"This is what happens when you disobey us! Furthermore you will not be seeing that girl anymore! This all happened when she started coming around. She is bad influence," my mother butted in.
"Her name is Grace and she is not a bad influence it was my idea!"
"Brooklyn your actions are unacceptable. Since you can't dictate your life properly we will, we just want you to be safe," my dad sighs.
"Be safe? This is unbelievable!" I get up and storm off towards my room. They already took my door, so I couldn't slam it shut. Instead I threw myself on my bed.
Why do they have to be so overprotective?
💔💔😡😡📚📚
School started back up as usual. Except instead of driving myself to school, or taking the bus, my mother dropped me off.
"I'll be here at three sharp don't be late, or I'll go looking for you."
I rolled my eyes and got out the car slamming the door shut behind me. Walking inside I immediately start to look for Brooke and find her standing in front of her locker. She sees me coming and smiles.
"How bad was it?"
I frown, "they took my door," I leaned up against the lockers.
"Your door!"
"Yup, and bolted my windows shut."
She bursted out laughing, "oh my god, how old are you fourteen?"
"I might as well be. They've taken away everything and have my whole day planned to the T."

"Wow, this is my fault," she looks down.
"No it's not. I choose to go. I could've said no."
She shakes her head, "I'll make it up to you I promise."
"Make it up to me? How? There is no possible way we can make this situation better. I'm under an impenetrable house arrest."
She smiled, "lunch. We still have lunch. I'll make it up to you then."
The bell rings.
"What how?"
"Come on I'll walk you to class," she shuts her locker.
"Grace your not answering me."
"It's a surprise, you'll at lunch. Just meet me by the front doors okay?"
I nod my head. I like surprises, "okay."
🧃🧃💞💞🎁🎁
And so I waited. Class after class I waited as the seconds ticked down. Each bell rang. First period? Check. Second period? Check. Third period? Check. Fourth period? Almost there!
Ap/ Dul English IV. One of my favorite classes. Although right now boring. The class full of seniors did appeal to me right now as I starred at the clock hanging above the door. My thoughts drifted off to the class I should be in right now. English III, but I tested out of it moving on to English IV.
"Mrs. Farwell? Are you still with us?"
I shake my head, "yes Ms. Davis."
"Okay then pay attention!" She claps her hands.
I internally roll my eyes and they ever so casually drift back towards the clock. Ten minutes.
The time passed ever so slowly. Once the bell rang however I was the first one out the door. The teacher didn't even finish her sentence before I was up and out the door. Not even bothering to stop at my locker I went to the front entrance and waited.
Grace walks up behind me and throws her arm around my shoulder, kind of surprising me, "what's the surprise?"
We walk out of school and head towards the parking lot. I look back at the door wondering if anyone was going to run after us. They didn't and we walked to her bike.
"I'll show you. It's not here though," she handed me helmet, then put on her helmet and hopped on the bike.
"We're leaving?"
She nods her head, "yup. We'll be back before sixth period I promise."
Taking a leap of faith I put the helmet on. Somehow when I'm with her I'm always getting into trouble, but I can't just say no. Hopping on the bike I put my arms around her waist and hang on tight.
Then we're off.
The drive is short, since Walmart is only fifteen minutes away from school. She parks her bike at the front and gets off. I take off the helmet, "Walmart?"
She nods her head, "Yah come on. Your surprise is waiting inside."
I raise my eyebrows, "oh really?" I throw my leg over the bike and hop off.
"Yes, really," she grabs my hand and leads me inside.
"What are getting?"
"Your surprise of course. Since you don't have a door I though you could get a bead curtain. It offers some privacy," she grabs a basket and we head towards the home department.
I grab her arm aweing, "awe, so thoughtful!" I smile.
Grace shakes her head, "it's whatever."
We walk through the curtain aisle. I run my hand along them, and lean my head on Graces shoulder. She looks on one side and I look on the other.
"This one could work," she moves making my head fall.
I look over at what she had grabbed, "I like it."
"Okay, one down two more things to go," she begins to push the basket and I continue to hold her arm.
"Wait, what else are we getting?"
"Well, you'll see."
We start to walk towards the electronics. Curiosity peaks in me Ben more as she stops in front of the desk and starts talking to the person behind it. The conversation starts out with a hand shake. My eyebrows rose.
"This is Elliot he's cool," Grace turned to me. I smiled.
"Just the two 11's?" Elliot held up two iPhone boxes.
"Yah. Pastel purple right?" Grace took the phone when Elliot nodded his head, "how much?"
"For you, 14 hundred. I mean I can do that now since I practically own the store," Elliot winked.
Grace rolled her eyes, "oh shut up," she pulls out her wallet and hands him the money in cash.
"Whoah Grace, cash, why are you carrying this on you?" Elliot took the money and the questing began. I wanted to know why she was carrying all that money on her also.
"Don't worry about it," she handed one of the boxes to me.
"Wait. I can't-" I began shaking my head and holding up my hands.
"Shut up and take the phone."
