《You Promised - Byler》EIGHT

I woke up the next morning I woke up on the couch next to Mike. His head was laying on top on mine, "Mike, we fell asleep. We have school today" I said as I moved my head from his shoulder and shook him from his shoulders, "Huh?" he said as he blinked a few time to wake himself up "We're late for school!" I yelled "Well we can just skip, it's fine." he said. "Mike you don't understand, I've never missed a day of school. Not even when I'm sick." I yelled from my bedroom rummaging through draws. "Well today can be your first," he yelled back. "Seriously, Mike." I said. "Fine fine, but i don't have any new clothes." He said, "You'll live, I promise."
"I swear, my teachers are gonna be so mad. I'm going to have so much work to make up," I mumbled all this stupid stuff to myself "Will, relax, we'll be fine, I promise." He said.
I was fine yes so I guess he did fulfill that promise. I'm being serious though, it really hurt. I don't understand why he promised things he couldn't even control. It's like he knew, maybe i'm just really anxious.
Mike and I walked into the cafeteria, we saw Max and El sitting a table. We walked over to them.
"Hey you guys were late, where were you?" Max said. Mike and I stared at each other. "I'll tell you later," I mouthed to Max. "My mom was supposed to be home but she didn't show up so I was late cause i thought she would wake me up." I lied. Mike didn't say anything. "Who's house are we going to today?" El said, "Mine!" I said, "It's a mess though so you have to give me a few minutes to clean up, ok?" everyone nodded and then the bell rang.

As I walked to class with Max I told her everything, "Wait, you kissed Mike Wheeler?!" she said "Shhh, yes I did." her face turned from shocked to happiness "OH MY GOD, IM SO PROUD OF YOU!" She hugged me "See I told you he was gay." her face began to have a sly grin. "Fine Fine, you were right, now shhh class is starting!"
Max could see how happy I was, but I could tell she was concerned about El too. I was really upset with El, she lied to everyone. I don't see why she would lie. It's such a stupid thing to lie about.

Available in Paperback and Kindle Look, I used to be just some guy… But then I made some changes… My job was like jail, now time and space cannot even contain me. When this whole thing started, well let’s skip ahead. The start of the story isn’t nearly as interesting as where I ended up. It all started with a dead body and an explosion… But what you really need to know is that, I used to be a loser, then I got jacked and went on my own adventure… After the explosion I took off west, expecting, well what does it matter what I was expecting? What I found was an epic adventure! Who would have thought that could happen to a former loser like me? I became a criminal, a musician, traveled through time, battled beings that shouldn’t exist and took part in a high stakes tournament. But that’s not the half of it! My editor says this blurb thing should be around 200 hundred words, but why don’t you just go ahead and buy the book to get the full story? “God does not play dice with the universe.” -Einstein (Sort of) “However, it’s entirely possible he’s using Me as his personal sitcom.” -Some Guy
