《desire | lucas sinclair》chapter 6

well. i'm dating lucas sinclair. i honestly cannot believe this is happening.
today everyone decided to go to the skating rink. mike is going but i know he doesn't want me to go, but i could care less because i'm friends with jane, max, and will and lucas is my boyfriend. so i'm going to be around. mike is just gonna have to deal with it.
i go to the bathroom to go to lucas's house. we aren't going skating until 7. it's currently 5:29. i put on a pair of baggy jeans and wore a red crop top with it. i also paired it with a pair of nikes. i wore my hair down again.
once i'm ready, i grabbed my phone and went downstairs. i get a text from lucas.
i'm here
okay i'll be outside in a bit :)
"mom i'm going to lucas's house and then we're going skating." i say.
"okay sweetie have fun!" she replies.
"i will."
i give my mom a quick hug then i get into lucas's car.
"hey." lucas says.
"hey." i reply.
"you ready to go?" he asks me.
"yup." i say.
he pulls out of the driveway and we go to his house.
we get to his house and we walk in, we're greeted by erica.
"hey y/n." she says.
"hi." i reply.
"i'm going to go to the bathroom." lucas says.
"okay." i say.
erica looks at me.
"is he holding you hostage or something?" she blurts out.
"what?" i ask.
"there's no way in hell you would just want to date my brother." she says.
"no, i want to date him." i reply.
"are you sure?" she asks.
"yes i'm sure." i reply.
"you're too pretty to date my nerd of a brother." she says.
i laugh. "thank you."
lucas then walks out of the bathroom. "why were you laughing?" he asks.
"it was nothing." i say.
"okay, come on." he says.
i follow him to his room. he shuts the door behind him and i look around his room. there's a trophy on his desk from basketball. he also has pictures of him and his friends on his wall. there's a few band posters and a dnd poster as well.
i sit down on his bed and he sits next to me.
"we'll have to leave soon." lucas says.
"i know." i reply.
it falls quiet for a bit.
"do you know why mike hates me so much?" i say.
"mike doesn't hate you y/n." lucas replies.
"yes he does." i say.
"i don't think he hates you, i don't think he likes you but he doesn't hate you."

"he never wants be around. and everything i say he just gives me an attitude. what's his problem?" i say.
"i don't know y/n. maybe it's because you're popular." he says.
"you're popular too." i say.
"i know but i was friends with mike before i even became popular." he says.
i nod and sigh. "i want to be friends with you guys but i can't if mike hates me."
"you can still be friends with us. max, jane, and will like you." he says.
"what about dustin?" i ask.
"i don't know, he hasn't really been around. he's been doing a bunch of stuff with the hellfire club." he says.
" aren't you and mike in hellfire as well?" i say.
"yeah, but dustin is like- way more committed than we are, especially since i'm on the basketball team." he says.
"yeah." i look at my phone. "it's 6:38, we should go."
"okay." he says.
we get up from his bed and walk to his car, we get inside and drive to the skating rink.
once we get there we walk inside, i can see mike, max, will, jane, and dustin. we were the last ones to arrive.
we walk over to them.
"hey!" jane says.
"hey." i reply.
i look down and see that max already had skates.
"oh i need to get my skates! i'll get yours too lucas. what's your shoe size?" i ask.
"10." he says.
"okay i'll be right back!" i say.
once y/n walks away, mike looks at me.
"why is she here?" mike questioned.
"because she's my girlfriend? also jane, max, and will's friend." i reply.
"well i don't want her here." mike says.
"okay? she's going to be here whether you like it or not. you can't just control who's here and who isn't." i snap.
"yes i can. i'm the leader of the group. remember?" he says.
"mike can you please just shut up. we like y/n and we really don't care if you don't." max says.
"yeah, we like having her around." will says.
"mike, i know you don't like her but she really is a good person. she's super nice, just because she's popular doesn't mean anything. don't be so quick to judge." jane says.
"whatever, i don't want her here." mike says.
"why don't you like her?" dustin asks.
"because she's popular! she's only around because of lucas. she doesn't want anything to do with us!" mike yells. "i don't want her here." he says.
"well i'm staying." y/n says.
"when did you get here?" mike asks.

"just now, but you're loud so i could hear everything you said." she says. "and mike, i could care less if you don't want me here, clearly everyone else wants me here. and you're not the leader. you gave yourself that name. you can't just control everyone like they're your pets. and you're gonna have to deal with me because i'm not leaving."
mike just stands there looking at y/n. "i- you-"
"i don't want to hear it." she snaps.
everyone looks at her. max has her mouth slightly open, like she's shocked. will has a huge smile on his face.
"here's your skates lucas." she says, changing the subject.
y/n then sits down on a bench and puts her skates on, everyone is still looking at her.
she looks up. "why are you guys staring at me?"
mike just skates away, dragging jane with him.
"i'm going to be 100% honest with you y/n. that was badass." max says.
"it really was." dustin says.
y/n laughs. "thanks guys. i was just tired of mike thinking he was the boss of everyone. it was fucking annoying."
i sit down next to y/n, putting my skates on. max, dustin, and will skate away. i lean in to whisper into y/n's ear.
"that was hot." i say.
y/n's cheeks go red, she laughs, then kisses me.
"c'mon." she says, grabbing my hand. we skate onto the rink, holding hands.
we hear the dj on the speaker. "okay everyone! get onto the rink so we can play a game of wipeout!"
everyone gets onto the rink, max and will come over to me and y/n.
the dj plays the music and we skate around.
"1...2...3... WIPEOUT!"
we all fall to the ground. the last one down was a boy, so the boys gained a point. all of the boys groaned.
the music starts again and we skate. the dj calls wipeout again. the last one down was a girl, so the girls gained a point.
after a few rounds, the girls were in the lead.
"this is the last round everyone!" the dj says.
he plays the music and we all skate around. "1...2...3...WIPEOUT!"
everyone falls to the ground again. the last one down was a boy, again. so the girls won.
y/n, max, and jane start cheering and so do the rest of the girls.
"HAHA! you lost!" max says.
me, mike, dustin, and will just stare at her. watching all of the girls cheer.
the dj then gets to the speaker again.
"okay, the girls win! all of the boys get off of the rink. time for an all girls skate!"
we all get off of the rink and the music starts. they play 'girls just wanna have fun'
i see y/n, max, and jane grab each other's hands. they skate around. they look really happy, they're laughing and smiling and singing the song lyrics.
me, will, dustin, and mike sit down on a bench. we start to take off our skates.
"hey do you guys want to get food?" will asks.
"no." mike says with an attitude.
"jesus mike what is your problem?" i say.
"it's nothing." he snaps.
"oh, you're mad because y/n told you off." dustin says.
"no! and she did not tell me off. she was being a bitch." mike says.
"what the hell did you just call y/n?" i say.
"a bitch. because that's who she is, a snobby, popular, preppy bitch.
i stand up and move closer to mike.
"lucas." dustin says.
"what're you gonna do? hit me?" mike hissed.
i look at mike and smile.
"y/n is a bitch." mike says, standing up.
"mike stop it." will says.
"don't call her a bitch again unless you want me to punch you." i threaten.
"y/n. is. a bitch." mike says.
i punch him. right in his cheek. he stumbles and nearly falls, he uses the wall for support.
"say it again wheeler! call y/n a bitch again! i'll just punch you even harder." i say.
mike starts to charge at me but dustin grabs him.
"mike stop it!" he says.
a bunch of people crowd around us, i see y/n. she looks shocked.
she walks over to us. "what the hell?" she yells.
"he called you a bitch." i say.
she just looks down and walks over to him.
i walk over to mike. he stares at me, he has blood on his cheek.
"you called me a bitch?" i say.
he just stares at me. "yeah."
i bend down next to him and spit in his face (gross but whatever) i walk away and take off my skates. then i put my shoes on.
i walk past everyone and they all look at me, lucas follows me. i grab my phone and my airpods. i sit down at a different bench and put my airpods in, turning on music. lucas sits next to me. i look at him.
"thank you." i say.
"what?" he says.
"thank you for defending me." i say.
he smiles at me then kisses my forehead.
i grab his hand and we leave the skating rink.
