we made it to the party. lucas parked his car on the side of the road, we then saw max, jane and will walking towards us.
"hey!" max says.
"hey." i reply.
"you look pretty." jane says.
"you do too!" i reply. "so do you." i say to max.
"thanks." she replies.
"okay let's go!" i say, grabbing lucas's hand.
we walk into the house and i see jason.
"hey jason, are ashley and steph here?" i ask.
"yeah they walked into the kitchen." he replies.
"okay thanks." i say, starting to walk off, jason then touches my shoulder.
"there's drinks in the kitchen as well." he says.
"okay." i reply.
me, lucas, max, and jane walk around. me and lucas are still holding hands. i look down at our hands and so does he. we look up at each other. we both know we're holding hands, but neither of us let go.
once we get to the kitchen and i see ashley, stephanie, and a few other of my friends.
"hey y/n!" ashley says.
"i'm gonna go over to the boys." lucas tells me.
"okay." i reply.
he walks off and will goes with him. max and jane stay by my side.
"who are they?" stephanie asks.
"this is jane and this is max." i say, pointing to them.
"oh okay." stephanie says.
"hey! i'm ashley. do you guys want a drink?" ashley asks them.
"no i'm good." max says. jane just shakes her head.
"okay, do you want one y/n?" ashley asks me.
"sure." i say. ashley hands me a cup of "fruit punch" it has alcohol mixed into it.
"thanks." i say, taking a sip. i immediately cough. "this is disgusting!" i cry.
ashley laughs. "i know."
me, jane, and max walk around, i introduced max and jane to my friends and teammates. they seem to like them.
"how do you know so many people?" jane asks.
"well she is popular." max says, laughing.
"yeah." i reply.
we then walk over to a bedroom. i open the door and see two people making out.
"oh sorry." i say, immediately closing the door.

max and jane start laughing, i join in.
we then go upstairs and go into another bedroom. it was empty so we all just went in there and talked.
"so..." max says.
"what?" i reply.
"how is it going with lucas!" she says.
"there is nothing going on between me and lucas." i say, my face turning red.
"yeah right. people who don't have anything going on between them don't just hold hands, knowingly."
"well it wasn't like that." i say.
jane laughs. "you totally like him!"
"i do not!" i say.
"oh c'mon just tell us!" max says.
i go quiet, they both look at me eagerly.
"okay fine. i like lucas." i say.
"i knew it!" jane cried.
max smiles. "you two would be a cute couple."
"i don't think he likes me max." i say, fiddling with my hands.
"yes he does." jane says.
"i don't know..." i start.
"have you seen the way he looks at you? also when someone brings you up, he always blushes." jane says.
i smile. "really?"
"yes. one time dustin brought you up, and lucas's face turned bright red, then he started talking about you, and he couldn't stop." max says.
my smile grows larger. max and jane both look at me.
"i think you should tell him." jane says.
"are you sure?" i ask.
"definitely." jane assures.
"okay. i'll tell him. but i don't know when." i say.
"why not tonight?" max asks.
"well i'm sure he's going to be with his friends-"
"who cares? grab lucas and go somewhere private and tell him!" max says.
"i don't know..." i say.
"tell him!" jane says.
"fine. i'll tell him... sometime today." i say.
"good." she says.
"um do you guys know why mike doesn't want me in your group?" i say.
"he thinks your snobby." jane says.
"why?" i ask.
"i don't know, i'm guessing it's because you're popular and we're not." jane says.
i look down at the ground and sigh.
"it'll be fine, he'll warm up to you. a few years ago he didn't want me in our group either." max tells me.

"really?" i ask.
"yeah." she says. "if you just stick around he'll warm up to you, trust me."
i nod. "okay."
"now go talk to lucas!" jane says.
we get up and leave the room. we go downstairs and walk around to find lucas.
"i see him!" jane says.
"where?" i ask.
"over there." jane says, pointing in his direction.
"okay, i'm going." i say.
max and jane stand there as i walk over to lucas. i tap his shoulder.
"oh hey y/n!" lucas says.
"hey y/n." will says.
"hey! um lucas can i... talk to you?" i ask.
he looks at me. "um sure."
"jane and max are over there." i say to will.
"okay." will replies, he walks over to them.
"what did you want to talk about?" lucas asks.
"can we go somewhere... private?" i ask him.
he gives me a weird look. "um yeah, of course."
i walk upstairs and lucas follows me. i go into one of the bedrooms and i sit down on the bed, lucas shuts the door behind him and sits next to me.
i cross my legs and face him, letting out a deep sigh.
"what is it?" lucas asks.
i go silent. "i..."
"y/n whatever it is you can tell me." lucas says, grabbing my hand.
i sigh again. "lucas." i say, looking into his eyes.
"i like you." i say. "and i have for... a long time."
he looks at me, not saying anything.
did i make a mistake?
"look. you probably don't like me back. and i'm sorry for saying this. i still want to be friends with you, even if you don't feel the same way. i hope this doesn't make anything awkward. but i really like you lucas. a lot. and-"
lucas interrupts me by smashing his lips against mine. he puts his hands around my waist. he then pulls away.
"i like you too y/n." he says, smiling.
i smile at him and kiss him again. this time it was longer. i felt a warmth run through my body as he kissed me. once we both pulled away, he put his forehead against mine. i'm grinning like i just won a big stuffed animal at a fair.
"so are we like- dating now?" lucas asks.
"only if you want to be." i say, smiling.
"of course i want to be." he replies.
"okay." i say.
"okay." he replies.
we both walk out of the bedroom, he's holding my hand. we go downstairs and are met with will, max, and jane.
"so?" will asks.
"we're dating." i say.
"YES!" max says.
"it's about time!" will says.
jane smiles. "i'm so happy for you two!" she says.
i look at lucas then back a jane. "thank you."
i can't believe this is happening. i'm dating y/n. like- officially. this is the best thing that's ever happened to me! not to mention the fact that i kissed her.
i didn't know if y/n felt the same way. i've liked her for a while now but i was too scared to say anything. i cant wait to tell everyone that i, lucas sinclair, am dating y/n y/l/n.
for the rest of the party, me and y/n were together, we both had a few drinks but not enough to make us drunk, we were more tipsy than anything.
we went home at about 2am. i took y/n home while jane, will, and max went home in max's car.
i dropped y/n off, i walked her to her doorstep.
"thank you." she says.
"for what?" i ask.
"for everything." she says, kissing my forehead.
"goodnight." i say.
"goodnight." she says.
she walks inside and shuts the door, i then go back to my car and drive home.
once i get home, i knock on the door, erica opens it.
"hey nerd. why'd you get back so late? and why are you smiling so big?" she says.
"well i was at a party, and i'm just happy, that's all." i reply.
"whatever, i'll tell mom and dad that you got home earlier." she says.
"thanks erica." i say, going to my room.
today was a good day, a really good day.
