《Mated to a Bad Boy》Chapter 26: Pregnant

As weeks went by I began to forget about Amber, Hunter I are back to normal and our bond has never been stronger. Lilac and I are happily shopping when she drags me into the nail salon she took me to when I first came to the Blood Moon pack. There I see a familiar bottle. I waste no time picking it up and carrying it to the specialist.
My happy ending came after all. Things couldn't be better. Then, as we are drying our nails, Lilac leans over. "I haven't told anyone except for Jasper, not even my own brothers, I'm pregnant. Jasper and I were wondering if you would like to be the godmother?" I'm taken aback and before I can say a word she continues. "We understand that we caused the tension between you and my brother and we really want to make it up to you. Plus, your my only friend now."
I smile."I'd be honored."
Come to think of it, I wonder if Hunter and I are ready for children? Seemingly knowing what was in my head Lilac smiles. "You know, Hunter and Bentley's birthday is coming up. Maybe you and him should start trying, that is, unless you are already pregnant. You and my brother have been active it bed right?"
I feel my cheeks blush. Once our nail are done she drags me to a little corner drugstore and grabs a couple boxes. "When we get back I need you to use these." She holds up a box of pregnancy tests.
Once at home I lock myself in the bathroom and look at the boxes. Should I use them or ask Hunter about it? As I'm stuck with my choice I hear a knock. "You ok, you've been in there a while?" Hunter asks.

"Y-yeah!" I quickly shuffle the boxes under the sink. "Just lost in thought, I guess."
That night at dinner I pluck up the courage to ask. "So, how do you feel about having children?"
Hunter's expression goes blank as he thinks for a moment. "I don't know, down the line yes but now's not a good time. I like how things are right now. Why do you ask?"
"Well, I think you should hear it from your sister. It's her news not mine."
"If you say so." He shrugs.
Is that it?
The next day Lilac and Jasper come over to tell Hunter their news. He seems so happy for them. Lilac pulls me to the side and asks me if I had taken the pregnancy test.
"No, I have not? Hunter says he is happy with things as they are. He said maybe in the future."
"You should still take them, the future could be closer then you think." She winks. "Imagine our children growing up together."
I smile, she is right. I silently excuse myself from the others and head to the bathroom. Then grabbing the box and, after reading the result instructions, I take it and wait.
When my phone alarm goes off I look at the test. Two lines. It's positive. I'm pregnant. Just then I hear Lilac's excited voice on the other side of the door. "Well?"
Opening the door I whisper. "It's positive."
"Yes!" She squeals excitedly and I frantically trying to silence her.
"Shh, I'm not going to tell him, not yet."
"Are you going to tell him on his birthday? Oh my gosh, you need to get baby clothes. Oh, and an ultrasound."
And I know just what to get. The next day I go to the mall and buy the snap tee that says "Daddy's Little biker buddy." It was perfect. I also pass by a jewelry store that has a see a his and her necklace set that looked like a heart puzzle. I decided to purchase it and get it engraved with one saying. One and only, as well as got some presents for Bentley. I really hope it isn't twins.

When I get back I head over to the hospital and just like Lilac said, I got an ultrasound.
Jessica walks in and I explain the pregnancy test and she gives me a big smile.
"I'm so glad you two worked it out." She replies as she grabs the wand and runs it over my belly. I watch with bated breath as a small blip shows up on screen. It was small, about the size of a blueberry. Jessica then presses a button and a rhythmic pulse echoes in the room.
"There's the heartbeat." Jessica then explains but she seems a little perplexed. "The heartbeat is a little slower than I like but other than that everything seems great. You are about seven weeks along."
Once I have the copy of the ultrasound I quickly walk home with it clutched to my chest. Once in my room I set out to wrapping the boxes. First the necklace, then the baby surprise. As I'm wrapping Hunter tries to walk in but thankfully I had locked the bedroom door.
"What's up, why's this door locked?" He asks with a puzzled voice.
"I'm wrapping your gift."
"Can I see it?" He asks with a singsong tone trying to sound cute.
"No. You'll have to wait till I'm done. I want to keep it a surprise."
Sure enough his birthday rolls around and everyone celebrates. Drinks, the grill, it was in full swing. Then it was time for the presents and Lilac and I exchange looks.
I pass Bentley his gift as well as give the small box to Hunter. His face lights up when he sees the halved necklaces with our saying on it. Then, the moment of truth. I place a wrapped shoe box in front of him then watched with a mixture of excitement and nervousness and he rips the Harley Davidson wrapping paper.
He pulls out tissue paper till he finds the pregnancy test. When he saw the two lines his face lit up. Then he pulled out the ultrasound of the baby.
I felt happy tears well up in my eyes has he pulls me into his arms. "I said in the future but I'm thrilled non the less." He places his hand on my stomach.
"There's still one more thing." I say, pulling out the snap tee. Hunter's eyes lit up again and he had the broadest smile I had ever seen. Our family was starting.

First Draft
Taking care of someone was hard. Harder still when the only job you can find is a graveyard shift at your brother's school, which is apparently haunted by a man claiming to be the devil. My life as a janitor is a simple one, and that clingy asshole won't leave me alone, so forgive me if I don't put enough gravitas into the situation. The gang activity is enough, why do we need to have an all-out war on school grounds? That will be too much for me to clean as a poor, lonely graveyard janitor.
