"Hazel... Ha...zel..."My voice was weak and desperate. "Hazel, where- are -you?" Many medical plastics were buried at the center of my arm. "Hazel?" I tried to get up but my arm was attached by many monitors.

I hate hospitals.

"Hawk?" A strong deep voice greeted me. Jack. "You're still weak. You can't get up now." He tried to convince me to go back to bed. "Dr. Pen said that you need to rest." He explained. "I'm so happy that you're alive, man." He squeezed me with a decent hug.

.

"Chill," I warned him. "It still hurts." I punched my head in the middle of the white pillow. "Where is Hazel? Is she okay?" His reaction gave it all away. something was definitely wrong. "Where is she, Jack?" I repeated myself as I tried to steal words from his mouth. "Is she dead? Answer!"

Jack swallowed his saliva, slowly as he tried to collect his words piece by piece.

"She... She... Mhm..." He sighed. "She's okay but..."

"But what?" I yelled, impatiently. "Talk! Talk Jack!" I forced him to complete his sentence. I wanted to know what was going on but he was not saying anything and it pissed me off. "You're really pissing me off right now. Why are you not talking? I want to know what happened to Hazel." I proved my point.

"Well," He decided to talk. "Hazel... Hazel doesn't remember anything. Dr. Pen said that she lost her memories." He sighed. "All of them and the worst part is..." He paused and walked back and forth beside the bed. "She's two weeks pregnant with your baby."

"Two weeks? But..." I paused, trying to collect my thoughts. "Wait? We had sex like a few days ago before the funeral."

"Hawk," Jack gave me a nasty look. "We're four weeks late. The funeral was a few weeks ago." He tried to explain everything. "She doesn't want to keep the baby. I tried to reason with her but she doesn't want to hear anything from a stranger."

"Doctor." I greeted him as soon as he closed the door after him. "Can I please see Hazel? Is she okay?"

"I was hoping we could talk in private." Dr. Pen offered. His eyes kicked Jack out of his mind. "Just me and you." He gestured, holding a clipboard in his hands.

"He can stay," I glanced at Jack. "I don't mind," I replied with a sincere tone.

"I know it's weird and impossible but your blood is..."

"I know." I interrupted, purposely. "I really don't want to hear anything about my health right now. I want to see Hazel. I want to see her, please Doctor," I begged. "Can I?"

"She needs to rest." Dr. Pen replied. "She lost her memories. She had internal bleeding in her brain cells. The accident was terrible and I'm so happy that you and Hazel are alive."

Why are you trying to change the subject, Doctor? I'm trying to see my baby.

"Doctor, Can I please see Hazel?" I repeated. "I just want to see her. Please..." I tried to make him understand that she was the only person I wanted to talk to.

"Of course, you can." Jack helped me get up. "Follow me." He finally agreed to take me to her room. I was weak and It was hard for me to walk on my own.

****

As soon as I opened the door, her eyes judged me from a distance. I was more like a stranger to her. Angels of Hell and Demons from Heaven surrounded her presence with bright darkness. I was more like a stranger to her. It felt like yesterday when we were in the car, she was all over me and was telling me that she wanted to start a new life with me and now she doesn't want anything to do with me. I was not the guy she wanted in her life. I was the enemy.

"Hazel?" I approached her and tried to touch her but her body language took it as a dangerous threat. O' Holy Heaven, What did I do to deserve her cold soul? Reverse the night we were happy and make it our new reality.

"I'm sorry." She judged me from Head to toes. "Do we know each other?" Her tone was pure and sincere. She really didn't recognize me. "Please, don't touch me."

Hazel Brown didn't know who I was. My Waffle! My only Angel.

The temperature of her voice was colder than Winter, Her new attitude was hotter than Summer. I was in the middle of a cold warm season. Winter on my left and Summer on my right. That's how It felt like. I wanted to scream and place our deep memories inside her brain but it was too late and impossible. I didn't want to admit to myself that I was the last person that Hazel wanted by her side.

How can I make you remember me, Hazel? When I'm already dead inside your mind and your heart. How can I make you mine again? When your soul belongs to darkness. How can I kiss your lips one more time? If your saliva is going to taste like poison. How can I forget you, my love? When you're the only one that makes me shiver under my own veins.

Hazel, please remember me... Hazel, please ring the bell before Midnight.

"Can I talk to you?" I started, gently. "Hazel, I just want to talk to you." I sat in front of her bed as she moved at the edge of the bed. She didn't want me to touch her. "Please."

Hazel wasn't acting up. She didn't remember who I was. Her memories were washed away by darkness. . They were worthless and were melting under her cold heart, savagely. It was too late for a second destiny. That was my new life and I was begging my future to slow down and wait for Hazel's past to dig in.

"What do you want?" She rolled her eyes, disgustingly. "I don't know you and I don't want to get to know you. I refuse to believe that this baby inside of me is yours. I don't want to keep a stranger's baby. I'm going to get an abortion." Her sentence blew me away. My heart trembled by the tone of her voice.

Unless you had sex with someone else the same day. If so, this baby might not be mine but I'm pretty sure that this angel inside of you is mine, Hazel.

"Stop playing with me!" I yelled, unexpectedly. "You're keeping this baby and that's final! I warned her with a simple threat. "You're not going to kill an innocent child inside you. I forbid you to do it. I can take care of my baby."

Jack stared at both of us. The doctor was speechless.

"Can you stop yelling, Sir?" Hazel rolled her eyes, negatively. "I don't even know who you are. I woke up with a baby inside me and I have the right to make my own decision. I just want peace." She proved her point. "This is not your baby." She paused, trying to collect her words. "Let's say you're right and this baby is yours. Do you think I'm going to let a stranger hold my baby? Do you think you're going to be the father of my child? You must be out of your mind."

"Waffle... I..." I started gently. "I just want you to--"

"Stop calling me Waffle?" She interrupted me, rudely. "Didn't you just say that my name was Hazel? Why are you calling me by another name?" Her devil eyes screamed for answers.

"I'm sorry, Hazel." I tried to calm her down. She was pregnant and I didn't want to upset her. I didn't want her to lose her baby. She was only two weeks pregnant but yet, it was possible for a miscarriage. "Can you please think about it?" I tried to reason with her. "It's a human being inside you after all. Please, at least let me take care of you and the baby."

Hazel nodded her head side to side, negatively.

"No," She refused. "Someone else came this morning and he said he was going to take care of me. I trust him."

"Who are you talking about?" I questioned her. "Who? Hazel?"

"My Fiancé."

I glanced at Jack for a few seconds and gave him the 'What's going on' look.

"Who's your Fiancé? Who told you that nonsense?" My brows disagreed with her. "Did he give you a name?"

"No," She replied, sincerely. "You're handsome but he's really nice unlike you. I rather stay with him and let him take care of both of us." She caressed her stomach in a slow rotation. "He'll be the father of my baby."

Hazel, are you out of your mind? Do you really think I'm going to let another guy take care of my baby? Hell no.

"Will he come back?" Her eyes enlarged with sweet happiness. "Why are you smiling?"

"Because he's here." She stared at the entrance. "Hey, you're back."

As soon as these words flew from her lips. My eyes headed towards the door. There he was standing, in front of the door with a bouquet in his hands.

Hazel's favorite flower. .

My favorite Enemy. My worst nightmare. Hazel's favorite Toy.

This imbecile lied to her and told her that she was his wife.

"Max?" I yelled. "What are you doing here?"

"I don't know who you are, sir." Max forced a smile and a lie at the same time. "Darling, don't let these people intimidate you." He advanced on Hazel. "Your parents died in a car accident on our wedding night. They really wanted us to be together. My parents are waiting for you and I promise I'll take care of you." Max's parents died a few years ago.

"Of course, I will go with you." Hazel gave him a smile. "When can we leave?"

"Doctor Pen said that he can dismiss you right now if you want," Max replied. "You're still weak but you can go home." He grabbed her left arm as he tried to get out of her bed.

"Over my dead body!" I grabbed her right hand. "She's not going anywhere with you, Imbecile!" I refused to let Hazel go with him.

"Hazel," Jack stated. "Choose."

Hazel looked at both of us, individually.

That was her last call. She had to make the decision for both of us and I was far from giving up.
