《Her House, My Rules》Chapter 18

Jessica was dating my father and me at the same time. She was seven years older than me. I was sixteen when I started to mess with my father's lover. My first time was with Jessica. She was the first person to break my heart. She was young, sensitive, beautiful and intelligent. She was the type of girl who breaks into your bedroom and rides you like a bicycle.

I was in love.

She wasn't.

I fell in love with the wrong person. I fell in love with someone who wanted to perish me on the inside. I fell in love with the devil's daughter. I used to cry all the time over this girl. She was different. Well, I thought she was back then. When I found out about her secret. I started to hate her more and more. I didn't have the courage to tell my father, I didn't want him to find out about our affair. She tried to poison me twice. She tried to kill me in my own house in order for me to keep her secret.

What was her secret?

How did I find out? I overheard her on the phone with her husband. They were arguing. The police started to investigate him and he couldn't take it anymore. He was number one suspect and he wanted to tell the cops about her secret and she wasn't really happy. She was planning to marry my father and kill him also so she could benefit from that money and run away with his husband. That was her plan.

The same night, I told her everything. I gave her a choice. I told her to stay far away from my father and me or call the police and tell them everything. She panicked. She told me to give her two weeks to pack up. I loved her. I agreed. Little did I know, she was planning on killing me. I forbade her to cook for my father. I knew what was coming. He was old and he didn't deserve to die. I wanted to protect him, he was never home. He was making his money by working so hard. I loved my dad with all my heart. He was there for me when my mom didn't care about me as a young kid.

Justice was served. I called the police and turned her in.

Jessica Halls broke me into million pieces. I thought she was different. Jessica and my mother were the same. They didn't love or care for me.

"Are you okay, man?" Jack interrupted my thoughts. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to say that name." His late apology was already emerging inside my head. Her name was my curse.

"Hazel different," I admitted. "Jessica was the worst. She was selfish and cared only about herself. Hazel can be childish sometimes but she really is wonderful and different. I can count on her. I'm ready to let her in. I'm willing to give it a shot. She deserves it."

"Are you sure you're not saying this because you like her?" He stated. "You sound hurt and unsure."

"Jack," I tried to control my temper. "You don't know Hazel. Therefore, you can't judge her."

"She can hurt you, man." I squeezed my teeth against each other as I tried so hard not to lose it. "Everyone has secrets. You don't really know Hazel. You barely know her. It's been only three months. How can you know her man?"

"Listen," I sighed. "I'm not going to sit there and let you talk bad about Hazel. You don't know her, I do. The only reason why you're here is because of her."

"Hawk? You don't understand what I'm trying to imply." Jack exclaimed.

"No, I don't, man." I paused. "Make me understand." My tone was severe and impatient.

"Calm down, brother." He said, gently. "I just don't want you to get hurt. Why are you being so defensive?"

"I'm sorry, man." I gave him a friendly punch. "I just don't want to get hurt and you're not helping me at all by questioning Hazel's intentions." He sighed. "I really like this girl and I don't want her to be like Jessica. I like Hazel a lot. I don't know how it happened but it's like my feelings grew overnight." I chuckled, nervously.

"When would I meet Waffle?" He referred to Hazel.

"Aye." I laughed. "I'm the only one who can call her by that name." I prohibited.

"Agreed." He turned on the radio. "We're not lovebirds. Let's get lit."

The cologne contaminated my bedroom with a satisfying smell. I was already at the house and I was ready to leave. Hazel was probably in her room. When I came in, she wasn't in the kitchen or in the living room.

As I entered Hazel's bedroom, she was in the shower. Clothes were laying on her bed, High heels, shoes, sandals were crashing the floor with a disturbing view. Makeup was shattered on the little table. Her purses were all laying in front of her bed.

Why are women always late? It doesn't take that long to wear a dress or pants.

Hazel was two hours late for our first magical date. I gave her the whole day to get ready. She was NOW taking a shower. I was out since this morning, thinking that she was going to be tired of waiting for me to come home but on the contrary, she was the one who was making me wait.

All the girls have the same problem.

Ladies! If your man really loves you, trust me, he's not going to care about your looks. Girls are so extra. They are drawing second eyebrows, adding eyelashes, matching their skin by using a bottle of . Adding lipsticks, removing lipsticks. There's nothing wrong with that but do it at a certain time. Why does it take girls hours to do a simple thing?

I bet, it's not even hard.

"Why are you here so early?" Hazel burned my thoughts into ashes. "I don't even know what I'm going to wear." A white towel wrapped above her breasts.

Early? Hazel, you're two hours late, Sweetheart.

"I gave you the whole day to think about that, Waffle." I placed my hands on my hips. "We're already late babe." I reminded her as I carried her. Her legs wrapped around my hips as I enveloped her lips, hungrily. "How's my baby girl doing? What did you do today besides missing me?" I caressed her wet face. Her skin smelled like fresh strawberry soap.

"I was literally looking at my closet all day." She admitted. "I feel bad now. You're ready and I'm not." She sighed. "Just cancel."

"No." I disagreed. "Stop playing with me," I warned her as I gently kissed her on the lips. "You're lucky I'm patient."

"Give me twenty minutes."

"Twenty?" I sighed. "Babe, you know you're going to take more than that twenty."

"Okay, okay." She agreed. "I'll try to hurry up."

"Where are your parents? I didn't see them in the kitchen. Are they here?" I asked, impatiently.

"No, they went out." She exclaimed. "They were in a hurry."

"Can I help you? That towel is bothering my eyes." I bit her ear as my hand traversed under her towel and squeezed her naked butt. "That's how I like it," I whispered in her ear.

"Can you get out?" She said, jokingly as she pushed my hand away. "I need to get ready."

"Oh," My eyes enlarged. "You're kicking me out now? Your own boyfriend?" I teased. "My own girl is kicking me out. This is not fair."

"Yes, get out." She threw a pillow at me. "Hawk! Get out!" She laughed.

"That's not my name." I refused to hear my original name. "My name is Baby to you."

"Baby, get out!"

"You better!" I smiled. "I like that short red dress over there. Wear it, your butt would look bigger in it" I closed the door after me as she threw another pillow at me.

Hazel wasn't ready for her surprise! ready.
