《HER LOVE • davina claire》53 | GOOD OR BAD; MONSTER OR NOT
Advertisement
My lips moves down Davina's neck and as I reach her sweet spot, she lets out a moan. The sound drives me crazy and suddenly my fangs begins to grow. I try to take them back but I can't. I'm out of control and I sink my fangs into the flesh of her neck. Davina starts screaming as I start to drain my Love of her blood and I try to stop but I can't. Tears streams down my face as I continue to stuck the blood out of her body. Finally, I can retract my teeth, and I look at Davina but her head rolls to the side. I listen for a heatbeat but I don't hear anything and my heartbreaks in a million little pieces.
I killed her.
I killed the love of my life.
"No!" I say loudly and I start shaking her by her shoulders, tears falling from my eyes freely.
"I always said, you and that bastard you call your twin brother kills everything you touch. Because you are monsters." I hear a voice say behind me, a voice I never wanted to hear ever again.
"Mikael." I growled out, my voice tone a snarl. I wanted to spin around but the press of a fimiliar piece of wood against my heart stops me.
"Hello bitch." He snarls back, pressing the stake closer to my heart.
"Go ahead, kill me. Without her, I don't have a reason to live anymore." I tell him, my voice breaking, tears flowing down my cheeks and the next moment a blinding pain shoots through me as he plunged the white oak stake through my heart and I roar out.
"AHHHH!" I shot up in my bed, the scream leaving my lips and I breathed heavily, wide eyed. That was a very realistic dream. Well, nightmare.
"Aleksios!" I hear the panicked voice of my Love. I grab her towards me and I hug her tightly, breathing in her scent to calm myself down.
"You're here. You're okay. You're alive." I say, relief filling my body and my bones.
"I'm fine. What are you talking about?" She asks me as we pull apart, concern swiming in her eyes.
"I had a nightmare. I-i...I lost control and I-i" My voice breaks, tears well up in my eyes and I started breathing heavily.
"Aleksios, you're scaring me." The brunette beauty tells me, concern in her tone. She climbs onto my lap and starts rubbing up and down my arms, trying to calm me down but the dream flashes infront of me and I gently push her away. Ignoring the hurt that crossed her face from my rejection, I sped out of bed and across the room.
"What happened in your dream, babe?" She asked me and my heart swelled from joy over her nickname for me but I pushed it down as I once again remembered the dream.
"I...i killed you." I spat out, the words hurting me in a way I never thought possible. This is worse than when she actually died.
"ALEKSIOS!" I hear my twin roar out in panic and fear. He probably woke up from feeling my pain, seeing as I didn't shout that loud.
"Nik, I'm fine." I lie to him as soon as he reached my room, hair sticking in fifty directions, eyes wide and shirtless. His panic is so bad, I can feel it through our bond and I hoped that he wouldn't notice the lie.

"Do not lie to me, you're not fine." Wishful thinking, one always notices when the other is lying. "What's wrong?" He asked me, and glanced at my girlfriend for a second.
"I had a really bad nightmare, but I'm fine now." I tell him, hoping that he would just leave. I really need to talk to Davina about my nightmare.
"About what?" My twin asked, not being nosey just because he cares and wants to help me.
"Something I really don't want to discuss right now." I tell him vaguely, looking at the ground. I hear him sigh and I know that I won. Suddenly I'm wrapped in a tight hug and I waist no time in hugging him back just as tightly, needing it badly.
"If you need to talk, I'm here." He reminds me and I nod.
"I know."
"I love you, Lexie."
"I love you too, Nik." I repeat, smiling slightly and with that, he left my room but not before glancing at me and Davina one last time, concern in his eyes.
"Aleksios," Davina starts warily and I hear her walk closer to me but I don't move, frozen in my spot. I don't even know how to look her in the eyes. "It was just a nightmare, and I'm still alive and breathing."
I take a shakey breath before speaking, "But I could kill you. One slip up and you're gone. And it would be al my fault."
"No, don't think like that." The brunette beauty infront of me tells me.
"Why not? It's true!" I explode and her eyes widen. "I could kill you in a second! And no matter how long we are going to be together, I'm still going to be a monster!" I shout at her, my fangs out and my hybrid eyes glowing vibrantly.
"And I'm still going to love you!" Davina shouts back. "Whether you are good or bad, whether you are a monster or not, I'm going to love you." With every word, she takes a step forward. I look into her eyes for a lie or a hint of doubt but all I find is pure love, determination and honesty.
I stand there, speechless from her words. She places her hands on my neck and rests her forehead against mine and my hybrid face dissapears as she does so.
"I'm always going to love you." Davina whispers to me and a tears slips down my cheek.
"How can you be with me, and love me, knowing that I could kill you anytime?" I ask her, my voice shakey, soft and vunarable. I have never been vunarable than I am right now and I don't like being vunarble but I have to know. And it's Davina. The girl I love with all my heart and soul.
"Because I trust you. And, yeah, you could hurt me and even kill me but I know that you would never hurt me. Because I believe in you. And in us." She tells me, taking my hands in hers. A big weight lifted of my chest and the corners of my mouth lift.
"God, I love you, Davina Claire." I tell her softly, and she lets out a relieved chuckle.
"And here I thought you were going to break up with me." She tells me and I frown.
I wrap my arms around her waist, saying, "Never." I reach forward and I give her a passionate kiss, one that she gladly responds to.

"We should probably go back to bed. Father Kieran's funeral is tomorrow." She tells me and I nod in agreement.
"Yeah, we should, love." I untangle my arms for her waist and I get back into bed. I lay on my back and she snuggles into my side, wrapping her one arm around my waist and tangling our legs as I wrap my arms around her waist. I look down and I wonder, how can someone so beautiful, innocent and perfect love me, someone who is dark and twisted.
"I love you, babe."
"Babe?" I question.
"It's a nickname." She replies with a yawn and I chuckled before placing a kiss on her forehead.
"I love you too, love."
We lay there and I stay awake until she's asleep. It doesn't take long either, about five minutes later her breathing becomes even.
"Aleksios." I hear Elijah call out and I hum in reply.
"That's one exceptional girl you have there. Don't ever let go of her." He tells me and I smile, knowing he refered to our 'fight'.
"It pains me to say this, but Elijah is right. Love doesn't come knocking every other day, so hold on to her." My twin adds.
"Trust me," I start, my voice a whisper, not wanting to wake Davina. "I'm not planing to ever let her go."
///
"You look fantastic, Lex." Elijah compliments as I enter the study, a grin already on my face. Davina is upstairs getting ready.
"I know, I always look fantastic." I respond cockily and he rolls his eyes.
"And there she is." He says with a chuckle, and a chuckle passes my lips as well.
"Where is my twin?" I question my dark haired brother.
"Already left." My eldest brother informs me and I let out a huff of disbelief.
"Moron." I mumble under my breath as I hear heels clicking on the floor and I immediately know that it is my Love. I turn to her, and like the previous time I saw her in a dress, the breath is knocked out of me.
"You look breaktaking, love, like always." I walk towards her as I speak and by the time I'm done talking, I'm infront of her and I place a quick and soft kiss on her lips.
"You look very beautiful too." She tells me shyly and I grin at her.
"Shall we?" I ask my brother and he nods.
"We shall." He confirms and speeds of.
I turn to Davina and I see her eyes light up with joy as she realises that we are speeding to the funeral. I chuckle and I pick her up bridal style before speeding of after my brother.
///
"It's a blood funeral, have some respect." I hear a teasing voice say and Davina and I pull apart, our cheeks flushing. When Davina and I arrived here the place was still quiet, so we went into the kitchen and started to make out. Although, I was a bit hesitant in the begining because I was still afraid of hurting her but that fear -and all rational thinking- flew out the window the second her lips touched mine.
With a glare on my face, I turn to the person who interupted our makeout session. "Really, Nik?" I ask and he smirks at me while Davina moves next to me and I wrap an arm around her waist.
"Well it is." He tells us and I roll my eyes.
"Yeah, well we were bored." I defend in a deadpan voice and he chuckles.
"Come on, speeches around about to start." He tells us and walks out of the kitchen. I give Davina one last peck on the lips while lacing our fingers together and we walk out of the kitchen and to the bar where all the people are gathered. A few eyes moves to me and Davina and I hear whispers of disbelief and I roll my eyes. Davina and I have been together for sometime now and they still gossip, but I guess that's what happens if you get a girlfriend after a thousand years of being alone.
I was about to make way to sit with Nik where is sitting at a table with a bottle of what I'm assuming is bourbon, when a tug on my hand stops me and I turn to the brunette beauty besides me, "What is it, love?"
"Can we sit, like, not with Klaus?" She asks me and I sigh but nod when Nik whispers an, 'It's fine, Lexie, I'm not the best company right now.' I turn to him with a concerned expression and he nods ressuringly but there is something nagging on me, telling me that there is something wrong with him.
"Sure," I tell her with a strained smile and her eyebrows furrows slightly as she notices it.
"If you really want to sit with him, we can." My girlfriend tells me, a sincere smile on her lips and I give her a real smile.
"It's fine, really." I assure her but she doesn't look convinced. "I'm just worried about him, something's up with him but I'll ask him later." She smiles, satisfied with my answer and we make our way to an open table - in the process I grab a bottle of bourbon and two glasses.
"Oh, you can't drink, you're underage." I comment teasingly and Davina gives me a glare. "Oh, wow, my first girlfriend is underage." I say and I tilt my head in thought before shrugging. "Doesn't make me love you anyless."
"One drink won't kill me," She tells me but then a mischievous smile grows on her face. "Or, we could both drink juice." A smirk covers her lips when my jaw slacks and I hear a snicker and I know it's coming from my twin.
"Fine," I say nodding, and she takes the bottle of booze and goes to the counter to trade it for juice - while I enjoyed the view of her very nice behind. Especially in that dress.
"Swapping booze for juice, man, you really are whipped." I hear a voice say and I turn to the source to see one of the vampires that was in Marcel's army.
"I am." I confirm with a bright smile on my lips and I turn back to see Davina walking back with a bottle of apple juice.
"Why does a bar have apple juice?" I ask in confusion and my Love shrugs, not knowing either. I take the bottle and throw us both a glass as we turn to see Marcel raise a glass to begin a speech.

The Good Crash: An Oral History of the Post-Scarcity Collapse
"Don't we all feel, deep down, that we deserve the apocalypse?" APRIL, 2028—Global capitalism has collapsed. America has sealed itself off from the outside world, and inside its borders, a revolution rages. All it took was one incredible little machine. That machine turned into two, then four, then eight... like a virus, the replicators spread. As a work of oral history, The Good Crash features over 50 interviews with key witnesses to the events of 2027. The text is rendered in the words used by the interviewees themselves, with light editing for clarity and concision. As such, the book contains language and themes that are not appropriate for children.By capturing the voices to the people at the very root of the revolution, journalist and historian R. Vondersnitch has traced the origins and aftermath of the replicators' rapid spread. Crucially, the book also includes perspectives and testimony from those who attempted to stop the spread of the reps. "Some of these are heroes, too, in their own ways," the author writes in the book's introductory note.
