《HER LOVE • davina claire》50 | FEAST OF THE BLESSINGS

"Hello Lexie." My twin greets me as I sit in my room on my bed, wonder what to get Davina.
"Hey twin." I greet back absentmindendly.
"What's wrong?" My brother asks and I sigh. I'm not surprised he noticed. I'd be more surprised if he didn't notice.
"I'm struggling to figure out what gift to get my girlfriend." I tell him, looking at him as I did so.
"Luckily, I've got mine sorted." He tells me and I look at him in disbelief.
"You got my girlfriend, Davina, the harvest girl witch, who you don't like and who doesn't like you, a gift?" I ask, my tone resembling my expression.
"The things I do for you." He mumbles under his breath and I grin at him. I lay my head on his shoulder and he wraps and arm around my shoulder.
"She's not going to accept it, you know?" I ask him and I feel him shrug.
"We'll see." Is his simple response and I nod against his shoulder.
"Got any advice, Mr. Perfect-gift-giver?" I asked him and a chuckle escapes his lips.
"Something meaning full to you but something you don't need anymore. Give it to her as a symbol of your love." He tells me and I lift my head to give him a 'seriously' look.
"I'm giving her a gift, not asking her to marry me." I retort and I move away from him.
"Yet." He tells me with a grin and I roll my eyes.
"That's not the point here." I tell him in an irretated voice tone but I don't disagree with him because we both know that someday, I'm gonna marry that girl.
"I know, I know." He says, his voice full of amusement and I glare at him. "That's all the advice I have for you. You know, just like you, I don't know how to do this dating thing very well." He goes on.
"I wish I could say something to that but you're right. We are the most powerful beings in the world, we've taken down kingdoms and castles yet we don't have a clue on how to date." I agree with him but in a more elaborate way.
We glance at one another before we both start laughing heartily at how true my words is.

I found it. The perfect gift. Davina is going to love it. Nik just has to remember to bring it with him.
It is night now and I am standing on the side walk, and the Feast of Blessings parade begins. The witches march down the street, and the three currently-alive Harvest girls are hoisted above the crowd on thrones. The girls are each dressed for the element they represented in the Harvest- Monique in floral earth tones, for earth; Davina in bright red-orange, for fire; and a witch I don't know in white, for air. My Love looks the most beautiful for all the girls.

Ofcourse, I might be slightly biased but who cares?
They stop and lower the girls onto a stage, I watch them carefully. Making sure that they don't drop my brunette beauty. Genevieve joins the Harvest girls on stage to greet the crowd.
"Now, in accordance with the Fête des Bénédictions, the witches of New Orleans bless you all!" The red head says and the crowd cheers. Genevieve steps offstage and Monique steps forward first, and creates a mild earthquake that rumbles the ground below them. Then, Abigail steps forward and raises her arms to create very strong winds that blow around the crowd of tourists. Finally, Davina steps forward, turns around, and raises her palm to the sign behind her, which immediately ignites with fire and sets off dozens of fireworks, which makes the crowd cheer again. I'm sure I cheered the loudest and based on the blinding grin I got from my girl, she heard me.
She was still looking at me and I mouthed a quick 'I love you' to her and a lovely blush stains her cheeks. She looks away, to the crowd and I smile at her. Sometimes, she's still so shy.
"That chick in the red is so hot. I bet you I could get her into my bed." I hear a male voice say and a growl passes through my lips. I turn to him with a glare that could kill any man.
"That's my girlfriend you're talking about. Mind your tongue before you lose it." I threaten him seriously. He opens his mouth to say something but when my glare intensifies, he just nods and turnd around and walks away.
I go to the party and I wait inside until I spot Davina. I don't have to wait long, but my eldest brother corners her and I make my way over there, knowing that she may love me but she doesn't like my family, she's only tolerent of them for my sake.
"It's lovely to see you. And under far better circumstances." I hear Elijah tell my Love and I roll my eyes. He's always so uptight.
"Yeah, it is." She tells him, a wide smile appearing on her face a she spots me. Noticing her smile, Elijah turns and sees me. He mutters something along the lines of, 'should have known Lex is near'.
"You look breathtaking, love." I tell her honestly as Elijah left.
"You're my girlfriend, you have to say that." Davina counters and I frown.
"No, I don't." I deny her claim. "And you look far better than Monique. I mean what is that contraption on her head. Not for all the money in the world would I put that thing on my head." I say honestly yet over dramatically, wanting her to smile again. And it works, she laughs and I grin, liking the sound very much.
"I have to go." She tells me, smile still present.

I nod at her before saying, "Me too, I'll be back though." Giving me a quick kiss, she goes up to the stage.
I make my way to the enterance of the building and I wait for my brother to arrive with my Love's gift. I gave it to him for safe keeping and I haven't used it in a thousand years. I really hope she likes it.
"Joshua. What a fortunate coincidence, finding you here. We have unfinished business." I hear my twin say and my eyes widened. I walk to him and I spot my girlfriend with an angry expression on her face.
Oh boy.
"You need to leave here. Right now." Davina tells my brother sternly.
"Now, to be fair, Davina, you're not quite as powerful as you once were, are you? You're in no position to give orders." He vamp-speeds over to Josh and grabs him by the neck.
"Niklaus." I call out, my voice stern as I near them. The trio turns to me, each with different facial expression. Davina with a smile, my twin with wide eyes and Josh with relief. "Leave him alone." I demand. I'm not about to stand by and let Davina lose another friend. I don't know how I'm going to stop him because I can't fight my twin. Play fight and banter, yeah but not for real. And I know he can't either.
But then he does something that alomst makes me sigh in relief, he blinks at me. Our signal. I blink back and the corners of his mouth lifts up slightly.
"Come along, lad." He tells the baby vampire.
"Hey, can we talk about this?" Joshua asks, his tone panicked. Davina follows them into the main room of the party and I follow my Love.
"Josh!" She calls out before spinning to me with a pleading look. "Aleksios, please. Don't let Klaus hurt him." She pleads and my face softens.
"Do you trust me?" I ask her, tilting my head slightly.
The brunette beauty nods immediately, "With my life and my heart, you know that. I just don't trust your brother." A face splitting grin forms on my face at her words and my heart skips a beat.
I step closer to her and I take one of her hands in mine, rubbing circles with my thumb on her hands, "Then use that trust and know that I won't let my twin do anything that will hurt you in any way."
At my words, the relief on her face is evident and she gives me a smile as we turn to my brother.
"Ladies and gentlemen, may I have your attention, please." She tugs me forward until we are at the front of the crowd. "We are gathered here today to pay homage to our beloved witches, but one very special witch has been utterly ignored. That seems a little unfair to me." My eyebrows furrowed a little at his words and I look at her and she shrugs sadly.
My brother walks to Davina and I've never wanted to go and play in traffic more than this moment.
Like that's going to do anything to me but I guess it's the thought, huh?
Nik hands Davina a small box as his offering and I want to let go of her hand but she just tightens her grip on my hand and I continue to rub circles on the back of her hand and she relaxes slightly.
"No. I don't want your gift." She denies with a sharp look and I have to surpress a chuckle at how his face falls at her words. I just give him a look that says, 'told you so' and he shoots me a playful glare.
"I understand why you would reject me, given our past. In truth, many of us here today have been wronged in the conflict which my brother's treaty ended. Your friend Josh was involved in a plot to kill me. It would be well within my right to execute him here and now. But, in the spirit of solidarity, and for your favor as well as my twin sister', Davina, I hereby pardon him. Josh from this day forward, you have nothing to fear from me." I smile at his words, but I eye him when I get that feeling that he's lying but not completely. I'll talk to him about it later. He holds out the box once more. "Please."
Nik gives me a grin as she takes it and he leaves. I look to Josh, who is beaming in relief.
"So, are you gonna open it? " The male vampire asks her. Davina lets go of my hand and opens it, and looks stunned when she finds a lapis lazuli ring and a small, folded up piece of parchment and my eyes widen a little as well. I didn't think he was going to give her that, but hey. "What? What is it?"
"It's the spell that makes daylight rings." She tells him, still stunned.
"Well, I didn't expect that." I inform them and she glances at me surprised.
"You didn't know?" Davina questions me and I shake my head 'no'.
"If you two will excuse me, I'm quickly going to go and get your gift." I tell them and Davina's eyes widened. "Don't look so surprised, of course I'm getting my girlfriend a gift." I add on with a grin and I walk away to find my twin, but not before hearing Josh ask Davina,
"Girlfriend?"
